At age 70, I'm done with heavy luggage. I travel in the heaviest/bulkiest items. One pair of shoes or sandals in hand luggage. One spare pair of trousers. Underwear (stuffed into the shoes), pyjamas and my silk pillowcase. Tank tops and T-shirts; maybe a linen or silk shirt. I fold them into a compression bag, one zipped side for clean, the other zipped side for laundry. A few items of jewellery, and phone charger in handbag. Wet wipes - they are not considered liquids. No shampoo etc. - you can always get a shampoo and blow dry: I have done this in London, Paris, Nice, Rome, Milan

I don't travel a lot but I do go to Arizona to see my family. Last time I went I got everything in a carry-on bag (rolled). Yes, mix & match stuff. Dresses are great because it's a whole outfit! And if I'm desperate, I'll borrow something from my sister 😂

Frederique, thank you for informing us all of how disrespectful it is for tourists to expose their bodies around mosques and if riding a taxi scooter with a gentleman Muslim driver. Appalling. This is why tourists have a poor reputation abroad. Always be respectful! 25:50

Nails: recently, I discovered gel manicure. Professional Manicures are not a regular thing for me except for special occasions. I had my first gel manicure two weeks ago and it has lasted. My nail color was totally dry when the manicurist finished - great, no accidents, no chips. No wasted time waiting for it to dry and it lasts. I will do it prior to a trip, for holidays, my birthday. It may not be for everyone. Just a thought.

Thanks for the tips. I am a life-long traveler. Two years ago I spent six weeks in France traveling and visiting my daughter. I packed everything in a carry-on bag! I find dresses to be an easy and practical solution. I choose simple knit shifts with small dark/medium prints made of blended fibers. They can be hand washed and will dry overnight. In addition, I will take one or two pairs of slacks and often a skirt. I completely agree that everything should mix 'n match! Don't take anything you would be heartbroken to lose. If you wear wedding rings, opt for a sterling band. Also, I heard that you should lay out your clothes and money; take half the clothes and twice the money. My number one travel secret is a small plastic atomizer bottle. I hang my clothes in the bathroom and spritz with water. The water relaxes the wrinkles and I don't have to iron.

I always use gallon size ziplock bags for each article, folded perfectly and squeeze all of the air out. You can sort through without messing anything up and you can put back in their bag after wearing, keeping everything else fresh. I save one outfit back for the 3rd or 4th week.

I went to Green Bay, WI in the first week of Oct from my home in the south eastern USA, so I had to pack both warm and cold weather clothes. No problem as I shipped in a box the clothes I wore (dirty clothes) to my home via UPS. My shipped clothes arrived home a day after I did. I have done this once before on a trip to the Gulf of Florida. It's way better than paying baggage fees. While working in the hotel industry some of our incoming guests would ship their luggage contents to the hotel prior to their check in date.

The Caribbean is my favorite, either in late fall or early Spring. I have tried to roll & everything was wrinkled so I went back to folding & yes, I love the cubes! Our last trip I went carryon, I still had to check my carryon bag because they didn't plan ahead & by time our zone was called, all the overhead storage was full, I was LIVID.

Minimal jewellery and next to no make up. What I find difficult is packing for the mid-seasons when the weather is unpredictable (sometimes even to weather forecasters).

Hi Frederique! I enjoy your videos and I enjoy traveling! I am a roller but what you showed on the video is definititely not how I roll! This is how I do it:
    1. Lay out each piece of clothing, one on top of the other.
    2. Fold only pyjamas and underwear and place these, as well as books, toiletry bag, etc... in the top centre of the piled up clothing (between the shoulder part of sleeves).
    3. Fold over the sleeves towards the middle so that they don't stick out.
    4. Only then start to roll. My clothes hardly crease at all this way!
PS: I always take only one colour pallete and fit everything into a large shoulder bag! 😉Love your hair! 👌

Like you, I like to travel with a nice soft, warm pashima! So versatile. If it is a colder climate, I like to wear a trench coat, also can be dressed up or down. Mix and match is key. I agree that a natural nail that is kept short, neat and moisturized always looks good. I want to be out having fun, not worrying about chipped polish. Also, always travel with a kind attitude. Elegant women are kind and thoughtful of others. Be a good visitor, appreciate cultural differences. Please, please - I am so tired of women traveling in leggings and dumpy t-shirts. Great tips! 🎉

I live in the UK so for me I always prefer to go to a hot country (love the Med!!) I've been to Türkiye and Tunisia a lot. I always roll my clothes when packing, I always get out everything I want to take then start "editing"!! I do take 1 pair of silver and 1 pair of gold sandals, they go with everything. I agree with you Frederique about jewellery only fashion jewellery, I find I can take a lot in a small make up bag (15cm x 10cm x 5cm) I don't take bulky jewellery. I take wide leg trousers, shirts, tee's, (all in cotton/ linen/ viscose) and cover up's - I use these both by the pool and for the evening worn with trousers and the sandals & jazzed up with jewellery. When I go into town's I ALWAYS wear trousers and a shirt, I find the locals appreciate this as both countries are Muslim. 🤗

I have even done this at home LOL. They are dry by morning and it saves having to do wash when all you want to do is put your feet up and have a cold drink.

The hardest thing is paring down toiletries. I like my own shampoo and skincare. I don’t bring all my regular skincare. And, minimal makeup. Skin tint or tinted sunscreen, a bit of powder, face spray, one eye shadow palette (Em Cosmetics) and Sydney Grace face palette, mascara and gloss. That’s it.

I am a folder in a folder. I learned it from working at an airline. You set out your clothes in a cross, with the bottom of said cloth in the middle. You then fold all your clothes into a square, (Clockwise) adding clothes as you go with the outfits that might get the most wrinkled on the outside (Meaning that you would lay them out first. It isn't very easy to explain without showing the process. but it saves space in luggage. stops wrinkle-prone clothes from getting wrinkled as much. If you roll, the inside of the roll will wrinkle no matter what you are packing, In my opinion.

I am a folder. When I roll, no matter how carefully, the clothes look crunched up.

It’s such a shame that so many women wear black and white, it looks so so harsh and isn’t flattering for them. I see a lot of women aged by black and even made to look bigger. If the colour isn’t right it accentuates so it’s the opposite of slimming. I wish this would stop being a staple.

Some of the ugliest travel wear I have ever seen was on an overnight flight ✈️ from Tokyo to Cairns. Lots of women wearing grey tracksuits from target and yoga pants ….. 😱 You can be comfortable without dressing that bad! Guess the destination was Cairns so ……

Wearing a bikini in areas where it asks you to cover up?! seriously ?! those girls with their butt cheeks out are rude and tacky ! I just came back from a trip up north. I still over packed 3 to many shirts and a pair of pants because I didn't know what we planned on doing plus it was cold in the mornings and hot in the afternoons , chilly after 7:30/8pm and you needed sweaters . its also stressful when you go with family's who like to do ALL the things outside like hiking, horseback riding, and swimming then you might want to dress up so you don't look tacky down town in a high end tourist trap. it can be confusing what to pack !

Are u walking with mini Louis Vuiton bag?? :O Dont u worry that they will stole it? OMG.
When i travel yes less is better, no need hundred dress, 99 is enough XD. I have that technic that i but the dresses and the medicines in my suitcase and take it with me on the board. In that case if the big bag might loose, let me not loose them.
When i packing it can cause a little bit headache cause i have " parrot" colour outfits ( i have white skin and some little bit brigther colour are match more to me than black or grey) Colourfull tops and skirts can be match very much with white tops and skirts. In the big bag i put the shoes, hair and skincare products, and bijous.
Footwear: slipper, sandals, sport shoes and a lighter leather shoes. I cant minimalize it more, i removed the high heels, which we think will be nice for dinner, but it s only extra weight. Shampoo and shower gel no need as well, anywhere u can buy it.
Warm clothes and clothes washing is very good idea!
I think normally the women think about which photo background will be there and they choose their dress to them. Am i right? On the bi bag i put my flag , so when it comes from the belt i can reconize esily its my logo :)

I am a folder and I use compression bags that way you want to move them to the hotel’s dresser you can keep them in the bags and your clothes don’t touch the drawers! Of course and hang some if you need too!
