@@ririndesuyo673 your character has the ability to time travel via matter board, but those things r pretty much gone on episode 3. Most likely there will be a new board durinh the end of episode 6 that allow you to travel back and forth to specific times a.k.a new genesis timeline
@@ririndesuyo673 we have cryosleep pods seen in pso2 episode 4 and phantasy star nova. our main character also had time travel abilities. idola phantasy star saga also takes place 1000 years after pso2 and matoi and quna appears there after traveling through "star gate" which also permits time travel.
You keep your character except all their skills and levels. Pretty much everything else you keep. I wouldn't want to keep character levels though if I'm playing through a brand new game and story.
When talking about how the character creation is compatible between both, it shows Ash wearing an outfit, plus Cast parts work like outfits. If they didn't allow you to carry over outfits, Cast players would be heavily screwed over.
I remember reading on PSO's website that when you transfer your character you can bring your outfits, but original PSO outfits won't have finger movement. And I might be misreading this but, since you can freely switch between original PSO and New Genesis, your outfits from NG can come over to the old game. Not exactly. PSO2 is not in the same universe as PSO. It's more like PSO2 Episode 2. Disregarding that they split story and content drops via episodes rather than chapters. Another reference option would be that this is to PSO2 as PSO BB is to PSO.
@@Metheos91 BB was episode 4 but with an entirely separated story from episodes 1, 2, and 3. No differences otherwise. So not really the best example, but we don't really have a lot of great examples to go off of. This is actually like the first time something like this has been done, and I'm lovin' it. This sort of explains the business decision behind finally putting out PSO2:NA. They wanted to both test receptivity to their IP, and also get a global fanbase ready and waiting ahead of the new game - so that game can launch to a much wider audience than the prior one. It will also allow the old game to retain a profitably sized playerbase after the new one comes out.
I kinda hope they do this is and kinda don’t. I don’t want to my pso2 characters story to end but at the same time I don’t want to have to deal with the you’ve been asleep for a lifetime Trope and all the other tropes that’s come with it. Maybe they’ll change the story depending on if you copied from pso2 cause the novelty of having a character that’s the same exact one as I played in a previous game set years back would annoy me if it isn’t acknowledged.

However, their functions, abilities, and appearances will change in accordance with PSO2: NGS's game system. While the fundamental weapon design will not change, their stats, augments, and potentials will. Additionally, some higher-rarity weapons may not be equippable until your character has reached a certain level. For weapons pertaining to classes that have not yet been added to PSO2: NGS, they will be unusable until the relevant class has been released. In PSO2: NGS, Units will become armor that is not visible. Even Units that have been obtained in PSO2 will become invisible in PSO2: NGS. Furthermore, similarly to weapons, their stats, augments, and potentials will change, and high-rarity Units may not be equippable until your character has reached a certain level. @@schwipsy Not sure, they mention link items to the character and past register data. My guess is that Hairstyles, Layerwear or anything that uses tickets to apply cosmetics could be carried over, but not costumes. There's a PSO2 Station live at 8/7 hopefully they address about it.
Enjoying the character creation improvements, actual finger rigging, and open world aspect. Disappointed that CAST weren't shown aside from the shot at the end of the trailer.

@@halova962 to put it simply, it's a brand new game with a new client to download, however, they are also keeping and upgrading the original pso2 with graphics comparable to this new game. You can play both games with the same character and although the progression system is different, there are things like weapons that carry over when you play the other game.

Five seconds later I'm basically crying with joy because we have *TWO PSO2s*, the new one's graphics retroactively ported to the original, and everything that matters (to me) is able to be transferred between. I didn't expect this, but I'm beyond overjoyed to see it.
Not exactly, most of em they made flopped hard (Japanese in general), pso2 is the only one that's actually loved by all, after all, most MMOs made by Japanese aren't even known, and they tend to fail due to being heavily pay to win which kills their games.

I dont know if WoW is still alive i never really liked WoW. For what seems like years MMOs are being announced and none have actually released. but i do know that the japanese are usually the only developers who take criticism and listen to their fans to make things better. PSO2 is a prime example of that. That's how it should be.

Back in the days there was game that came out BEFORE the Final Fantasy 14 we know and love, it was also called Final Fantasy 14 but this version was the ORIGINAL version of the game, which flopped so bad and was so hated by fans and critics that the developers at Square Enix decided to COMPLETELY remake the game from the ground up with a new lead director in charge, Yoshi P. But this was largely done in secret while the original was being improved upon to appease the community for the time being, then out of no where, the developers started an "End of the World" event, in which a BIG Meteor the size of a small planet was looming in the sky while monster were swarming the known cities and attacking everything in sight. This meteor was said to fall at a very specific time during the next few days, and when the "countdown" reached its end, a cinematic was played showing the Cataclysm playing out. But at the end of this cinematic, taking EVERYONE by surprise, there was an announcement, this announcement was a "new" title, called "Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn" which was a COMPLETELY redesigned game to make up for the TERRIBLE product that was original game and also to redo the game from a technical standpoint See the similarities now haha ? @@crawlingboy they kinda had to do it this way, because the original game was so fundamentally broken and flawed on both a practical and a technical standpoint that it simply could not be saved... the engine of the original was already at its extreme limit even at launch due to how poorly made it was, there was just no other way around, it was either that or let the game die and let the whole Final Fantasy series take a massive hit, damaging the whole image of both the series and Square Enix themselves.
If our old characters still exist in NG and it takes place 1000 years after the original story of pso2. Does that mean we're immortal or Time travelers or Maybe immortal time travelers
If its a computer bought within the last four years, you should be fine, as its supposedly able to run on the regular Xbox One, not just the One X, or the yet to be released series X. That is of course, that when you bought the PC, it was with gaming in mind.

PSO2 was optimized exceptionally well that it ran pretty decent on a garbage laptop back in its launch year. I have faith that Sega will be able to have graphical settings so terrible that a below-average system should be able to run it fine.

@Kayden I don't know if this person can build a PC, and many would prefer the portability. $720 is really good for a laptop pushing a 14.8K passmark score (Ryzen 4600H) while also featuring a GTX 1650. An alternative would be to use the new Ryzen APU in a build, but a Series X would just crush everything for less. This is why I'm getting a PS5; either console is an a-la-carte gaming rig powered by AMD for about $500. The 8-core Zen2 CPU in it alone would cost me $300 to purchase separately...

It sounds like the new character creator will be much better with more accessory slots, etc., so it would be great if we could use the stuff we purchased in PSO2 to mix with PSO2: NG items in the brand-new NG character customization. Additionally, to use the work around, I have to do some administrator level things to my computer to get it set up, and I shouldn't have to do that either. @@crawlingboy I looked up the instructions on how to use the tweaker on the site for the tweaker itself. The makers of the tweaker themselves specify having to do several very unusual things that are administrator level that I don't feel like I should have to put myself through to play one game that shouldn't require it. Before the Beta launch, there was an accidental leak on the main PSO2 website referrencing a steam version that was then scrubbed from the site, so that plus the fact that they say that this is coming to multiple pc platforms (and given MS's recent allowance of their games on Steam) means that it's very likely to happen.
@@crawlingboy I have no doubt the tweaker is better (although I doubt it's easy), but I'll just wait for the steam or standalone release, as even though I have an xbox one already, I don't have xbox live gold and this isn't enough of a reason to start.

They only announced it for the platforms PSO2 currently exists on, respective to regions. But they did say later that as PSO2 is made available for other platforms, so too will NGS.
So if I'm understanding this right... there's a new semi-expansion/game in the works that serves as a PS02.5 and the original PSO2 is also getting the visual overhaul... so does that mean the original PSO2 is no longer going to have any big episode updates so that work can be done more efficiently for NGS?

Well, it should be noted that what we are seeing is probably just the first chapter. So it may not be as packed as the original PSO2 in terms of content, if that wasn't obvious.
It's also why you can play still both as it will take a while for it to catch up to PSO2 in terms of content. PSO2 is 9 years old already after all, that way you can play both and let PSO2:NG rack up content / classes to match PSO2. It was stated on pso2jp's website that while all your weapons are transferable you cannot equip weapons for classes that haven't been introduced yet (e.g. Katana for Bravers / Phantoms). It's likely the first classes will be the classics (Hunter / Ranger / Force)
Combat looks smooth and refined. Overall gameplay looks good. Still a lot of questions about the ins and outs of what will, or won't be able to transfer over.
If we're still the same MC from PSO2 on Genesis despite the 1k year timeskip. That's possible, I mean Luther and co lives within us which was the reason we can use Dark blast xD. Though there's no dark falz here (yet) so it probably won't make sense to introduce them until the story goes to that point.
So when in 2021/23 ( or beyond?) will the PlayStation 4/5, Switch, and Steam version coming out, since SEGA in 2012 refused to localize the game and the hero of Microsoft had to saved the day.

I'm honestly HUGELY relieved that the original game isn't just being replaced with NGS with the possibility of losing all our cosmetics. I worked my ass off to get all the ones I have (especially my nyau suit) and was terrified I would lose them all. Really glad that isn't the case! Unless this is something to do with time travel again, since we can time travel back as show on PSO2's story, though that doesn't say we can't travel forward. We can travel to both universes back and forth and there's a big chance it's still us from PSO2 oracle. I'm still not too sure what happens, we'll probably see after EP6's finale on JP servers this year as to how and why we're still alive 1k years from now on PSO2. Since so far every side game related to PSO2 that shares the account does have lore backing it up as to why we were there (e.g. in PSO2Es as a captain for a team with Gene, Annette and co).

Weapons, Units, Mag
Weapons, Units, and Mags obtained in PSO2 can be used in PSO2: NGS as well. However, their functions, abilities, and appearances will change in accordance with PSO2: NGS's game system.
While the fundamental weapon design will not change, their stats, augments, and potentials will. Additionally, some higher-rarity weapons may not be equippable until your character has reached a certain level. For weapons pertaining to classes that have not yet been added to PSO2: NGS, they will be unusable until the relevant class has been released.
In PSO2: NGS, Units will become armor that is not visible. Even Units that have been obtained in PSO2 will become invisible in PSO2: NGS. Furthermore, similarly to weapons, their stats, augments, and potentials will change, and high-rarity Units may not be equippable until your character has reached a certain level.
Although Mags within PSO2: NGS do not affect your stats or aid you in battle, Evolution Device data from PSO2 will carry over.

@@argononfire3084 Current PSO2 is over 90GB and getting updated with NGS graphics, it's going to well over 100 GB at least. Alongside with PSO2 NGS both games together will be over 200GB.
So what about cosmetics, will they carry over?
@@schwipsy Not sure, they mention link items to the character and past register data. My guess is that Hairstyles, Layerwear or anything that uses tickets to apply cosmetics could be carried over, but not costumes.
There's a PSO2 Station live at 8/7 hopefully they address about it.

@@halova962 to put it simply, it's a brand new game with a new client to download, however, they are also keeping and upgrading the original pso2 with graphics comparable to this new game. You can play both games with the same character and although the progression system is different, there are things like weapons that carry over when you play the other game.

Damn, at 2:23 they asked a question I didn't even think of asking. Five seconds later I'm basically crying with joy because we have *TWO PSO2s*, the new one's graphics retroactively ported to the original, and everything that matters (to me) is able to be transferred between. I didn't expect this, but I'm beyond overjoyed to see it.

Not exactly, most of em they made flopped hard (Japanese in general), pso2 is the only one that's actually loved by all, after all, most MMOs made by Japanese aren't even known, and they tend to fail due to being heavily pay to win which kills their games.

I dont know if WoW is still alive i never really liked WoW. For what seems like years MMOs are being announced and none have actually released. but i do know that the japanese are usually the only developers who take criticism and listen to their fans to make things better. PSO2 is a prime example of that. That's how it should be.

Yo we really sleeping on the Shared character data. This is something I had hoped was done to ANY SEQUEL OF A GAME. And they did it.

It's a prevalent meme on PSO2JP for quite some years now, to the point that even the game directors mock it when showing new lobby actions xD. It's a nod to that meme by SEGA that yes we can finally move our fingers after 9 years lmao.
It's especially awkward on some lobby actions that's named "point" but uses the whole hand lol.

Back in the days there was game that came out BEFORE the Final Fantasy 14 we know and love, it was also called Final Fantasy 14 but this version was the ORIGINAL version of the game, which flopped so bad and was so hated by fans and critics that the developers at Square Enix decided to COMPLETELY remake the game from the ground up with a new lead director in charge, Yoshi P.
But this was largely done in secret while the original was being improved upon to appease the community for the time being, then out of no where, the developers started an "End of the World" event, in which a BIG Meteor the size of a small planet was looming in the sky while monster were swarming the known cities and attacking everything in sight. This meteor was said to fall at a very specific time during the next few days, and when the "countdown" reached its end, a cinematic was played showing the Cataclysm playing out.
But at the end of this cinematic, taking EVERYONE by surprise, there was an announcement, this announcement was a "new" title, called "Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn" which was a COMPLETELY redesigned game to make up for the TERRIBLE product that was original game and also to redo the game from a technical standpoint
See the similarities now haha ? New Genesis is literally the same concept, minus the end of the world event and the prior terrible product ^^

@@crawlingboy they kinda had to do it this way, because the original game was so fundamentally broken and flawed on both a practical and a technical standpoint that it simply could not be saved... the engine of the original was already at its extreme limit even at launch due to how poorly made it was, there was just no other way around, it was either that or let the game die and let the whole Final Fantasy series take a massive hit, damaging the whole image of both the series and Square Enix themselves.

If its a computer bought within the last four years, you should be fine, as its supposedly able to run on the regular Xbox One, not just the One X, or the yet to be released series X. That is of course, that when you bought the PC, it was with gaming in mind.
Also will run on the Switch and PS4 it seems, so you really should be good.

PSO2 was optimized exceptionally well that it ran pretty decent on a garbage laptop back in its launch year. I have faith that Sega will be able to have graphical settings so terrible that a below-average system should be able to run it fine.

@Kayden I don't know if this person can build a PC, and many would prefer the portability. $720 is really good for a laptop pushing a 14.8K passmark score (Ryzen 4600H) while also featuring a GTX 1650.
An alternative would be to use the new Ryzen APU in a build, but a Series X would just crush everything for less. This is why I'm getting a PS5; either console is an a-la-carte gaming rig powered by AMD for about $500. The 8-core Zen2 CPU in it alone would cost me $300 to purchase separately...

Can we use all the outfits, accessories, and hairstyles we purchased in PSO2 in the PSO2: NG character creator? Yes, we can use the characters we create in PSO2 in PSO2:NG, but what I didn't hear the answer to was on the new character creator. It sounds like the new character creator will be much better with more accessory slots, etc., so it would be great if we could use the stuff we purchased in PSO2 to mix with PSO2: NG items in the brand-new NG character customization. Anyone know the answer?

@@Donkarlos94 I shouldn't have to use a fanmade workaround to get a game to be able to even just work. Additionally, to use the work around, I have to do some administrator level things to my computer to get it set up, and I shouldn't have to do that either. I'll just wait for a different storefront to offer it.
@@crawlingboy I looked up the instructions on how to use the tweaker on the site for the tweaker itself. The makers of the tweaker themselves specify having to do several very unusual things that are administrator level that I don't feel like I should have to put myself through to play one game that shouldn't require it.
Before the Beta launch, there was an accidental leak on the main PSO2 website referrencing a steam version that was then scrubbed from the site, so that plus the fact that they say that this is coming to multiple pc platforms (and given MS's recent allowance of their games on Steam) means that it's very likely to happen.
@@crawlingboy I have no doubt the tweaker is better (although I doubt it's easy), but I'll just wait for the steam or standalone release, as even though I have an xbox one already, I don't have xbox live gold and this isn't enough of a reason to start.

They only announced it for the platforms PSO2 currently exists on, respective to regions. But they did say later that as PSO2 is made available for other platforms, so too will NGS.
So if I'm understanding this right... there's a new semi-expansion/game in the works that serves as a PS02.5 and the original PSO2 is also getting the visual overhaul... so does that mean the original PSO2 is no longer going to have any big episode updates so that work can be done more efficiently for NGS?

I'm a jaded old gaming cynic Sega, I can't deal with you being transparent and straight forward like this. Not in an industry that bathes itself in false hype and mystique.
Well, it should be noted that what we are seeing is probably just the first chapter. So it may not be as packed as the original PSO2 in terms of content, if that wasn't obvious.
It's also why you can play still both as it will take a while for it to catch up to PSO2 in terms of content. PSO2 is 9 years old already after all, that way you can play both and let PSO2:NG rack up content / classes to match PSO2.
It was stated on pso2jp's website that while all your weapons are transferable you cannot equip weapons for classes that haven't been introduced yet (e.g. Katana for Bravers / Phantoms). It's likely the first classes will be the classics (Hunter / Ranger / Force)
Combat looks smooth and refined. Overall gameplay looks good. Still a lot of questions about the ins and outs of what will, or won't be able to transfer over.

If we're still the same MC from PSO2 on Genesis despite the 1k year timeskip. That's possible, I mean Luther and co lives within us which was the reason we can use Dark blast xD. Though there's no dark falz here (yet) so it probably won't make sense to introduce them until the story goes to that point.

I'm honestly HUGELY relieved that the original game isn't just being replaced with NGS with the possibility of losing all our cosmetics. I worked my ass off to get all the ones I have (especially my nyau suit) and was terrified I would lose them all. Really glad that isn't the case!

Becuase I'm assuming that is meant to be the default costume if you start playing PSO2 New Genesis without playing the original first.
That's likely not Ash, it's probably for other players that didn't start on PSO2 but directly on PSO2:NG.
Storywise not too sure if it's still us (Ash) on the story of NG since it takes place 1k years apart from PSO2.
@@ririndesuyo673 In the previous trailer, it literally had "Ash" on top of his chat bubbles, along with the names of his party members, which are the same as in the Japanese promotional material.
@@ririndesuyo673 I should note this isn't the Ash from Episode Oracle, it's a different, completely non-canon Ash used to represent the hunter class as the default HUmar. I know ingame there's Falspawn clone of another hunter just like him called Roku though, IDK what's up with that.
@@mattwo7 Yeah gotta agree (I realized it did say Ash on the bubble) lorewise it's kinda weird though, Ash / the player is human canon wise and shouldn't live that long. Unless this is something to do with time travel again, since we can time travel back as show on PSO2's story, though that doesn't say we can't travel forward.
We can travel to both universes back and forth and there's a big chance it's still us from PSO2 oracle. I'm still not too sure what happens, we'll probably see after EP6's finale on JP servers this year as to how and why we're still alive 1k years from now on PSO2. Since so far every side game related to PSO2 that shares the account does have lore backing it up as to why we were there (e.g. in PSO2Es as a captain for a team with Gene, Annette and co).
