  • Event-driven architectures can solve many difficult problems in modern enterprise workloads. For example, it can be challenging to work with large amounts of data in different data stores and locations. Teams building microservices architecture often find that integration with other applications and external services can make their workloads more monolithic and tightly coupled. In this chalk talk, learn how to use event-based architecture to decouple and decentralize application components. Discover how you can use AWS messaging services to connect microservices and coordinate data flow using minimal custom code.

      That is false though. The mind is intrinsically linked the the body. Destroy your gut health and observe what happens with your cognition.

    15+ years ago we already had all that stuff, but back then it was not hosted by AWS, you had to buy the products from IBM and run it on your hardware. But it was the same sales pitch and it had the same problems: vendor login, your solution distributed across many different proprietary platforms/products, different teams responsible for routing vs business logic, bad automatic testability, developers pushed into a specific approach.. obviously it's much better now, but at the end, most issues are still there.

    • @jianwei2009
      @jianwei2009 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The issue of "vendor lock-in" is moot. I have seen so many cases where teams try to build abstractions on top of abstractions just so that they can switch assuming sometime in the future. That future either never happens or when they indeed want to switch, they discovered that still a lot of work and testing required for the migration.
      I never seen once where a migration of significantly complex project, even based on OSS stack, went smoothly and on time.
      It should be a given nowadays any type of migration will take significant amount of time and budget.

      @EricJohnson-lr2tl ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey @vtreanor that's a fair point. Just for context. I have found that if I do not make a few one fingered jokes, people are not quite ready to listen. The hands become distracting. If I make some jokes and address the elephant in the room, folks are more ready to hear what I have to say. That being said, I appreciate your candor and thanks for watching.
