    Liver shots it's amazing when you manage to land it perfectly and it's horrible when you get hit. I'm a boxer and during some sparrings sessions got hit in the liver and immediately felt like a bolt of electricity through my spine and 10 or 15 seconds later my legs gave up and stayed with one knee in the floor trying to recover.

    Deadlifts without alternating grips are brutally hard on the grip muscles. The Okinawan Karate Masters seem to have some hardcore grip exercises and they've mutated their fingers and toes into weapons. As for liver kicks, Crocop was famous for using his instep or shins. I like aiming for shins and if they move back, it lands on the instep. If you aim the instep and they move back slightly and you land with the tips of the foot to the body, that's a sprained ankle.
    As for punches to the liver, look up "White Chocolate boxer". He's a young boxer who has notorious liver shots and won many fights in the first few seconds or the first punch to the liver. He uses long-range extended arm punches which trade velocity for torque. The higher velocity might be more difficult to react to and harden against. If it's a slower moving short-range punch, the target has more time to harden the rib muscles and fade away to lessen the damage.

    Very good explanation of slapping kick. Brilliant answer . Just to add. There two kinds of impact ( following your examples), one is a massive powerful it , on a lower rib, which is visual, you bring the rib bending towards inside , and hit the lever in that specific place, where the gal bladder is, and it produces over dose of bile form of hydrochloride, and it is toxic inorganic acid, that makes you mussy, even if you survive the pain.
    The other way of slapping , causes a “wave” through soft tissue , that makes the fluids in the cells and tissues to move. In waves . Expanding through All the neural system .
    The pain itself is like instantaneous emptying the axons of metabolites , like , when someone calmly blocks a head kick, on the body kick level. It is because his axons had no metabolites , after weight lose , in third round, and he thought he blocks the head but the hand comes short . Same at knockout . The CNS blocks itself , or the pain kills the men

    The foundation of weight training comes down to grip and grit. Grab weights with as much intensity as possible so your wrists don't break don't stop until your fingers feel numb repeated until strong. And grit spend more time on your feet. Train standing most of your gym routine. Also fun fact about the liver. People who are right sided sleepers are more likely to have heart burn and headaches because the liver needs constant consolation from every fiber in your body.

    My instructor was big on Palm strikes. Taught us alot of bare handed fighting. A palm strike to the liver is not a fun thing. Oddly when it came to self defense he was very dedicated to using body shots. Yet, depending how you do the Palm strike, its much less of a slap than a punch. It can have alot of push to it as we all know yet the damage isn't superficial on the outside it always seems to go through you.

    Ramsey, I have a liver punch question for you as well. We all know that processed sugar is damaging to the liver. Therefore, do you feel like a punch to the liver will do more damage to someone in a fight if the person doing the punching has a candy bar or something inside his fist?
    Would love for you to answer this one in a video! 😀😀🙂🙂🙂

    • @brunopianodude9938
      @brunopianodude9938 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good question, sounds quite plausible to me. But if you look into it logically: Do you know that excessive sugar is going to be stored as fat? It is possible for the candy to get sucked into the flesh of the opponent and being transformed into a big bulk of flesh. That means that this fat is going to absorb your punches energy and therefore doesn't do any damage to the body. There is also another problem that could come up for you... The possibility that your opponent is able to use this stored energy from your punch and release it as an Kamehameha.
      Let's get now to the upsides: Like you already pointed out, excessive sugar is going to damage the liver and your opponent is going to get diabetes. But that doesn't do anything in that fight in terms of the effect that it is going to be taken.This unbelievably psychopathic malicious plan wouldn't work, only in long terms.

  • @MajorRoy

    There was a japanese karateka who fought in Dream FC who had a great liver kick. He hit with the ball of the foot when doing the left round house to the body, dangerous but effective. I've sadly forgot his name, but I believe it's a thing in karate to use that kick for a precision hit on the liver. The ball of the foot coming in from the side is a bit trickier to defend against also, since it curves inwards from the shin, so even if you block the kick with your arm the foot can find it's target behind the elbow.

  • @gingercore69
    @gingercore69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    O the grip strength for fatilities, thats actually not a bad idea... Having a grip.stromg enough to hurt just by gripping would actually be good... Imagine being able to grab someone with enough grip to crush an apple, or something, sinking the fingers, right on their forearm, as part of a setup for a throw...
    Like, one of the throws i love is the hiptoss, grabbing the wrist or forearm, hooking under the oposite arm and throwing over the hip... I bet it would be much more efective if the grip alone would hurt alot

    I understood exactly what you meant when you said slapping instead of digging. I like when you brought how with the tkd kicks the foot needs to do something as well and how that's fine for body shots. Shane fazen I love his two main video breakdowns of different ways to punch as well how he describes what is supposed to be happening while a punch is being thrown ( by the way I hate the term throwing a punch) from start to finish to get maximum damage as well what needs to happen after it. I know alot of people hate on arm punches but shane talked about adding shoulder pop to hooks I believe it was. For another one he says imagine like a whip. I have a good idea for the dude to help develop grip strength. Carry to thin handle buckets full of water up and down a hill.

    Big forearms put mass behind punches in a very special way. Big forearms also extend the inertial moment when your muscle have started contracting but your arm hasn't moved yet. This loads more facial tissue deeper.
    Squeeze the balls. Hang from bars, pick up heavy stuff, grab uniforms, but also train grip. Popeyes arms hit hard.

Does this mean they won't be able to resist my takedown? No. Because proper technique can negate a strength advantage. At the end of the day it gives me a small advantage because maybe they aren't used to being gripped that firmly and this makes their techniques harder to execute. but not ineffective. If you want to improve grip strength for deadlift, then don't use straps and use a double overhand grip. You might only be able to do it on your warm-up sets at first, but eventually you'll develop the strength to get triples at a substantial percentage of your 1RM.

    Here’s a hypothetical, you often emphasize the importance of size, strength and athleticism to succeed in combat sports, and your style of fighting is very much second to that. So let’s say you have the most freakish athlete in the world, let’s just use Brock Lesnar, and all you did was teach them some bullshido styles, let’s say they are a black belt in Hapkido, Aikido, Krav Maga, Systema, Tai Chi Forms, Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, form based “inner” Kung fu styles, Pressure Point fighting etc. Could that version of Brock Lesnar who only trained in all that crap still win a UFC title? And for fun let’s say he has access to all the steroids in the world.

    • @RamseyDewey
      @RamseyDewey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      False. I teach that three things determine who wins a fight: athleticism, aggression, and technique. If you are deficient in any of those areas, you will lose most of the time against someone who is more complete. For example, if you are a lousy athlete who doesn’t understand effective aggression, but your technique is pretty, you’ll probably get killed fighting an athletic, aggressive fighter. If you are an effective aggressive technician but a poor athlete, competing against a highly athletic person with no concept of effective aggressiveness or fighting technique, you’ll most likely school him.
      Pay attention, man.

    Umm.....doing rack pulls with an over/under grip barely if at all does anything to develop your grip lol. If you want a strong grip then do natural stonelifts. That will absolutely fry your grip and has a large number of advantages relevant to grappling that aren't possible with your conventional bodybuilding/powerlifting movements. Also, Ramsey despite your weightlifting you have a pretty fragile looking build. You're built alot like my brother when he was a teenager- narrow shoulders, sloped inward shoulders and a caved in chest. Give the natural stones a try as well as sled pushes and sled presses. Not only will you get more combat functional strength you'll have a more intimidating build as well.
