It’s been 6 months since I bought my iPad and I was really really bad at lettering. After some practise in Procreate and some tutorials from Karin I literally improved a lot….
Procreate is such an amazing tool - and so multipurpose! I use it for everything from lettering to web and graphic design. And, of course, Karin’s tutorials are such an incredible resource. ❤️
Thanks Karin for the video. Can you show us what brush you like to use and what settings? like a previous comment said, my strokes are jittery and I'd like to see the setting you use for your brushes. Thanks.
You are amazing person Karin, thanks all the tutorials and freebies, I never seen people teach so clear and simple for free, it takes so much effort to create these many videos to teach and templates
I first found you because of your lettering videos, but I haven't been doing very much with lettering. I really want to. I am just doing many different arts/crafts things and it got put on the back burner for a little while. The best video I ever saw on the topic was the one you did months ago with the color coding. I have even seen a couple skill share videos on the topic, but none are as good as your videos.
Ahh, it’s totally understandable! This is why I’m not buying a Cricut machine 😇 (just yet, haha, I will give in one day I already know 🙈) But I want to make some more lettering related videos which will hopefully entice you to practice a bit - even if you are just following the tutorial for fun 😄 As always - thank so much for your kind words - you are the best! 🙏🏼🤗
Hi Karen, sorry for getting ahead, but I purchased your Brush Lettering practice sheet as well which I am having great fun with. Are you planning to include a connections/practice words for this style in the future?
Thank your for the video and your generosity! I have been trying for some years to do lettering the traditional way and I always get bored after a while. Maybe now with the iPad and your practice sheets I can finally improve👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Karin. You are certainly very informative. And you are right: Procreate is the best. Also great for watercolor. I love Procreate, and I love you. You are darling! Thank you very much for the freebies.
yes you want to press quite hard because you’ll get more control over your strokes 😅 but if it bothers you, try increasing the brush size a bit, it’ll make it easier to create thicker strokes!
This is by far the BEST tutorial video I have found. The free practice sheets that I downloaded directly to my iPad are fantastic! Trying to learn and practice the art of lettering on paper and then translate those strokes to use in Procreate was very daunting. *THANK YOU*. I am feeling very confident
i can’t wait to use these!! ive been waiting about a month/month and a half for my ipad pro & it’s supposed to be shipped within the next two weeks. I’m so excited to try lettering on it!!
what kind of brush/ pen that you used in the video? I'm new to procreate and I can't figure out how to get the stroke with thin and thick line like you had
I love your channel ! I just received my IPad Pro but I am not very good to use it yet… I just wanted to ask you the good way to use my Apple Pencil for the start. I just can’t have big or thin strokes… I am lost with Procreate too but I will learn. I have to much very hard to make bigger strokes but it is not s;other at all… Could you give me any advice please ? Thank you so much again !
Hiya! There's a few things that will make a difference when it comes to practicing your iPad Lettering - I've made another video that might help you: th-cam.com/video/WwvZV-V7C1I/w-d-xo.html :)
Oh no - I’m so sorry to hear that 😭 I don’t have a tutorial because I’m always watching theirs as well, but one trick is to really take your time when applying the PaperLike, I find I get more bubbles when I’m rushing. You can also try using a hair dryer and heat it up a little bit, that way it’s easier to smooth out the bubbles. Good luck!! 🤗
@@iPadLettering those are great tips, thank you! I’ll definitely give them a try when I suck it up and attempt to put my protector back on tomorrow. 😂😂
Thanks so much for these practice sheets. My penmanship is so so so bad - my school just didn’t care. I’m stuck with the writing style of 12 year old. Lol.
Hiya! You will need to use the brushes with a pressure sensitive Apple Pencil (e.g. it won’t work with the new USB-C Apple Pencil). The strokes will get thicker as you press down more, and thinner with lighter pressure, just like using a brush pen 😊

Using your rainbow pen to do drills is amazing! It makes it very clear to see when your pressing light or hard.

Aww - thank you so much for your kind words 🙏🏼 Stay tuned for more freebies very shortly 😄🤗
Thank you for your time and the freebies looking forward to getting started
I absolutely love this! Thank you! To make the thicker lines I have to press SUPER hard. Is that normal?

I had the same issue and was wondering about it as well...
Just lovely the efforts u put to create these worksheets. I m surely going to try on my iPad. Thanks so much!!
Yay! Thanks so much for your kind comment 🤗
Good day or evening Karen, could you please say which percentage on the pencil you recommend for practice and writing on a whole? Thanks in advance.

Hello Karin, thanks for this video :) could you do a lesson on how to hold the pen? Mine always ends up creating straight lines or jittering. Thanks

I notice when using the IPL Strokes Practice brush, if I put too much pressure, it turns. is there a way to correct this?
Is it only available ipad ?
Hi, I tried to access your website but it says the server cannot be found? Has it been removed?
Hiya! The website is definitely still there :) Here's the link again: ipadlettering.com/freebies/ 😄
