Watched GE for decades and no matter what setting he played in, he's nailed it. One of the coolest guitarists to hit the stage. I saw GE with Hall& Oates back in the 80's, he was completely spot on!
G.E and a few others have shown me so much about the history of the guitar. I'll never be able to express how much I've learnt from him. A wonderful human
Oh man, why didn’t my parents buy me an old telecaster, when I got my first electric guitar back in 1973? Truth be told, I really wanted a black Les Paul, at the time, but we couldn’t afford a new one and couldn’t find a used one. Instead I got an SG clone with terrible neck dive issues. That was my only electric until I bought a brand new American ‘52 Reissue back in 1993. Still love it.

I had a room mate who had one of these an old friend left him when he passed, he loaned it to me for a week, by FAR the best guitar sound I’ve played, so versatile. my friend had no money and had bad teeth, I found out later he had sold it for $2K. 😢
If there was a video of G.E. talking about coiling up audio and power cables, and packing up equipment, after a practice or a show, it would be engrossing. I would watch.
G.E. is one of the top players. Everything about him seems cool. A carpenter probably doesn't leave his best hammer in the clutches of others. More chancy when a guitar is left on stage, packed in a van, loaded on a plane. But, as G.E. says, if you have a great instrument, you want to have it there with you on the gigs. I think Mike Stern had a Tele or maybe two stolen.
Practice forming the chord then slowly take your hand off (all fingers), and slowly fret the next chords. Repeat this for a week. 2 1 hour practices. You can do it! We all had to do this. I hope this helps. In a month it'll be second nature.
The Tele imo is the mans Tele and imo what that means is you got to be up on your game or it will rub your face in ..Sorry ladies but you girls know what I’m talking about I’m not trying to chauvinistic and take my hat off too chicks with Tele’s ,Suzanne Tedeschi is the only one I can think of off hand..

My earliest recollection was seeing him in Hall & Oates' Private Eyes video. Next thing I know, he's leading the SNL band. Just amazing to listen to.
