The catholic church has been collecting and keeping books and documents for centuries. It is just normal to acquire these amount of writings. Let's be thankful because these books still exist today after many centuries. By the way, catholic monasteries were the centers of education before and monks translated and copied many ancient and important books and later sent those books in the vatican when the library was made for safekeeping...and there were hundreds or thousands of monasteries around europe, asia and africa.

They can burn, toss, rip, and tear every document. Because if the public can’t read and have the knowledge of the past as they do, why should we care they have it. It holds now value if we as human beings can’t know EVERYTHING about our own past. This is wrong. No matter how long or how good they’ve taken care of these documents.

So, like most libraries in the world, there are storages areas and 'closed stacks' in the Vatican book collection! I'm so surprised to know this. It's just so normal. Not to deny that interesting books and documents can be found in any library. But open stacks are best for those who read books.

@@pumasgoya look it up yourself .
I assume you are catholic. And ill also assume you were raised catholic as i was .
So tell me , if you were raised in the Islamic faith would you have converted to catholoisim or stayed with Islam ?
Anybody can be raised in a certain denomination and stay in that denomination because thats all they knew all their groing up life .
But does that mean that faith YOU were raised up in mean that is the only true faith ?
      No !
I was raised up catholic and was catholic for 40 + years .
But once i did my research i realised that Jesus never preached ( denomination) .Everybody thinks they are the true church when in fact their is no denomination for Christ church .
And if you study the true history you will find out that Rome has lied since they put Jesus on the coss
It dont take a ROCKET SCIENTIST to figure out that the money rome has came from indulgences and pagan practices to fill the coffers of the vatican .
Ever wonder why the vatican never discloses their banking records to the public ? Because they are the richest organisation on this planet hands down .
Bet u didnt know that.Bet you didnt know that the Vatican has their hands in oil companys and big tech companys .And that is only the tip of the iceberg .l
My late mother was the head secratary for a large catholic church that when i was growing up in catholic grade school .
This church was started in the basement of a public school . The church finally had enough money to build the structure .That wss over 50 years ago . And my brother has been the head organist all of the 50 + years the church has been around .
But to my point .Mothertold us that 90% of the collection on sundays goes directly to the vatican bank .that leaves 10% for the church.
Now just that alone has got to be hundreds of billions of dollors each year going directly to the bank in Rome . Now whyvis it that the vatican refuses to disclose their earnings to the church , meaningYOU AND ALL THE OTHER CATHOLICS .?
Everything at the vatican is done behind closed doors . l
Now back to you question . I dont have to prove a thing . ROME and the vatican have already done tha proving thruout history . 8ts no secret that the inqusions and the crusades were the forcing the catholic beliefe upon people thruout the world and torture and death was the price you paid if you diid not convert to catholoisim forget converting to christianity ,,,,,you hade to convert to catholoisim or else.
God said that in the end times He would reveal the evil forces and the people that are running right along with this evil.
Since i left the church i see the vatican has built the most expencive binocular telascope in the world and shoved the native american right off their sacred land on Mt Ghram in Arizona to put this telascope THE VATICAN CALLS THE LUCIFER TELESCOPE ..nice christian name for a catholic tool . REALLY ? Just the way the vatican stole that land from the
natives is nothing new to catholoisim. They have been forcing people from their lands thruout history .
No. I. Dont hate catholics. They are my brothers and sisters in this life .But i HATE CATHOLOISIM BECAUSE ITS A LIE ! AS WITH ISLAM AND A WHOLE SLEW OF DENOMINATIONS .
JESUS NEVER PREACHED DENOMINATION ...EVER ...!!! HE PREACHED SALVATION THRU HIM AND HIM ONLY ...NOT MARY , NOT MOSES , NOT ENOCH ......JUST JESUS HIMSELF .
RELIGION NEVER SAVES. ANYBODY OR EVER WILL.!!!
YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS THE CHRIST IS ALL THAT WILL EVER DO TO SAVE YOU .THE SACRAMENTS THAT CATHOLOISIM DOES NOTHING TO SAVE YOU .THE PRIEST CAN BLESS YOU TILL HELL FREEZES OVER AND IT WILL ALL BE IN VAIN .
STUDY UP ON CHURCH HISTORY FROM A NON BIAS PERSPECTIVE AND YOU WILL SEE THE TRUTH .
THIS IS WHY THE VATICAN. IS SO HUSH HUSH ABOUT THE 52 MILES OF LIBRARY ..
THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY HAVE DOWN THEIR !!! IF THEY LET IT BE KNOWN IT WOULD EXPOSE THEIR LIES OF THEIR TRUE HISTORY OF THE WORLD .
HELL THATS COMMON KNOWLEDGE. God bless

4.) Lofts above some Italian name/place (TONS of books)
    5.) The Bunker
    6.) Climate controlled rooms
Other rooms I have heard of/know of/are speculated of in the Vatican:
7.) The "porno" room (pornographic art from older times)
8.) Those underground burial areas, all the old Roman pagan stuff, where St. Peter is supposedly buried, etc.
9.) That rotating room with the astronomy stuff, holes in the wall for beams of sunlight, etc.
    10.) St. Peter's Basilica
11.) The Pope's private quarters, kitchen, dressing rooms, etc.
12.) The room where the cardinals and pope meet-either St. Peters or someplace nearby
13.) The big meeting hall, the one with the weird sculpture behind where the pope sits, etc.
14.) Some other big room I've heard of where some pretty dark stuff goes on...
-Probably hundreds of other rooms, if not thousands, most of which are undiscovered. Oh, and that secret tunnel out of the Vatican. Plus, you know, all the "regular" stuff-the post office, etc.

I scrolled down and read all the comments. Most of them were disgusting. First of all, the word "secret" does not mean in church terms what it means in the USA. It is a Latin word that means "separate" or "apart". These ancient books and papers are stored in a separate place because they are old, delicate and brittle. You can't have people just coming in off the street browsing through the books. Anyone with the correct credentials, i.e. language and history skills, can request a card to visit and use the rooms. So many people on here saying the Church stole so many things and they have all kinds of super duper things to hide that would bring down the whole Church! Rubbish! It is mostly just "minutes" of meetings, personal letters from Popes and other figures, writs, encyclicals, bulls, letters of appointments, etc. You would find it all as boring as going to your local courthouse and sitting down and reading all the books of deeds, or the census. You won't find anything earth shocking. There will be lots of biographical info and family lineage records. You won't find missing books of the Bible or the "truth" behind the Knights Templars, etc. The only things in there that would be interesting to most people would be reading the trial of Galileo, or back and forth communications from say, the court of Henry VIII while discussing his divorce situation, or with Martin Luther, or documents pertaining to the Inquisition. It WOULD be interesting to see the oldest Bible in the world, the Vaticanus (4th century), but I'm not sure you could touch it. And all these things can be read online. It angers me to see all the Catholic haters on here and the conspirator theorists. The term "Vatican Secret Library" is about as empty and bogus as Dan Brown's books!!! If you REALLY paid attention to this, you will see it was a blatant ad by subliminal message for you to go out and buy that new slick book the priest showed us. They even put at the end where you can buy it through the Vatican Museum. If the Church is doing anything "tricky" it was actually this advertisement! :)

It is a misnomer of the word "secret". Secret is a Latin word which means separate or apart from. The priest in this video should not have used that word because he didn't realize non-Latin speaking people would see it as clandestine or something to hide. You are making a mountain out of a mole hill. It is "secret" because all those papers are old, delicate and brittle. They can't be put out for the general public to peruse through. Simple as that.

The history is pretty well known, they were a knightly order founded during the crusades that became incredibly rich challenging many European central powers, until one of them, the crown of France, decided they had crossed the line and had their officials executed for perjury (for admiting to various crimes under oath and then retracting their admission).
As for their treasure, it was simply spent all over Europe, in infrastructure, exploration, research, war, tax payment and for the profit of nobles and clergy men.
Nothing overtly mysterious unfortunately and I don't think the Vatican Archives have anything more to add that story.

The Bible talks about “clouds” going up and down with people going in and out (Exodus 24:18 - Moses entered the cloud). Clouds do not make those movements described in the Bible but spaceships do. Jesus ascended in a “cloud” (Acts 1:9). God rides in a “cloud” (Isaiah 19:1, Psalm 104:3). Jesus will come back “with” the “clouds” (Mat 26:64, Rev 1:7). Jesus will come back commanding a fleet of starships. The church will be raptured “in” the “clouds” (I Thess. 4:17). Spaceships will be used to rapture the church. The ancient did not have vocabulary or knowledge to understand what they saw so they called the flying objects “clouds”, “chariots”, and “pillars”, because was the words they had to describe something flying in the sky. The Bible even tells in Psalm 68:17 how many spaceships are in the fleet “The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands” (about 20,000). There is a good research done by Patrick Cooke called “The Great Deception - The Bible UFO Connection” which has the original words describing spaceships. It is all over the Bible. Jesus is real. He is the savior of the world but He is not seating in a puffy cloud. He is commanding a powerful army, which will take control of our planet. The Jews had contact with beings from another planetary system called The Elohiym, commanded by The Most High God. The Elohiym had to have an special covenant with humans to be able to save our planet from destruction. They got the agreement with the Jews but they were not faithful to the agreement so The Most High sent Jesus to make a new covenant and have legal rights to save our planet from destruction. So... the mystery of the Jews is the covenant with beings from another planetary system. Psalm 82:1-6 says that God presides over a great assembly. Something like a federation of planets. If you want to confirm what I am saying just look at a paint made in 1710 by someone that had access to the secret archives of the Vatican. Look at the paint " The Baptism of Christ" by Aert de Gelder. This is the secret on the Vatican achieves.

The word ‘secret’ is confusing to people. Remember that we’re talking about a 2000 year old organization and when they named the archives secret meant private. Now people get all upset thinking that things are being hidden from them, but it’s just that they want to hate Catholicism and are looking for an excuse. Think about it. Things have been collected for 2000 years and this is the Church’s personal private history. Like a giant scrapbook. Much of the material is one of a kind and quite delicate and they don’t want just anybody pawing through it. Modern museums don’t let just anybody get into their things. Why in the world are so many people interested in the Church’s old memories anyway? The DaVinci Code was fiction!! The Church has been persecuted for 2000 years and will be till Jesus returns. That’s what He said would happen.

2 Thessalonians 1.Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, 2 not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us-whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter-asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.

It is open to the public. This is the biggest misunderstanding. "secret archives" is a mistranslation of the latin term of "private archives." Scholars and private individuals are allowed to go into the archives any time to translate and study the documents. In fact there are multiple groups currently working on digitizing the archives. The only reason they don't let just any schmuck in is because the artifacts and documents are very old, very historically valuable, and require the utmost care in their handling and minimal exposure to elements that could cause them to dry or get moldy or fade due to light exposure. That's the real reason everything is sealed off.
