  • The Backun Educator Series presents Michelle Anderson, founder of Clarinet Mentors (www.clarinetmentors.com), in a series of videos designed specifically to help school band teachers to teach clarinet more easily and effectively. Many All-State bands and other auditioned groups require clarinet students to submit recordings. Michelle gives some practical pointers on how to help your clarinet students prepare a good recorded audition. This includes some technical recording suggestions, as well as how to prepare the audition pieces.

This is one of my favorite videos for now! I just finished recording prescreening recordings for grad school, so this is very helpful.

Glad to see you on Backun! Way to go Michelle! You have helped me grow into the clarinetist I am today. I now have a private teacher but those first few months of playing would have gone a lot slower and awkwardly, possibly frustrating me without your help. I have seen just about all of your videos and I can't wait to see how far you go from here!

Could you please create a longer version of this video? With COVID-19, most of my auditions are moved online and an equipment video would be very helpful!
