It will be ok if you’re fishing 1 rod and tending to it. You won’t get the distance on the cast that you would with a longer rod and if it’s rough with seaweed, you’ll have more problems keeping your weight on bottom.
Great video. Very informative. Thank you. Just subscribed. We are going to Palm Beach Shores mid Oct. and will try to fish off of the jetty or beach where the dredge is in front of the Marriott Ocean Point. Was this video or at least part of it shot off the beach near that jetty? I thought I saw the dredge in the video. Are snooks still around the beach and inlets mid. Oct to end of Oct? First time going there and just recently learned about them. We are be using 15-40lb Heavy and 20-50lb Medium-Heavy poles, 20 lb braided main line and 40lb flourocarbon or monofilament lead lines, will that work? What kind of lead line is better between flourocarbon and monofilament, presentation wise? Do you have a video on how to rig the poles? It looks like you guys plunk the baits and just leave the poles in the pole holders until the fish bites. We are used to jigging, 15-20 seconds after we cast, we start to slowly reel in the line. Is one way better than other for snooks? I hope we can catch at least one in the slot so we can try it while we are there. Any recommendations for spots to fish for snook around the Palm Beach area? We won't have a boat so looking for recommendations for piers, inlets or beaches. Thank you in advance.
Hey welcome to the channel!! We live a good 45 minutes south of Palm Beach. I believe the scene you saw with the dredge was in Boynton inlet. October is a great time of year to fish for snook. Especially because that puts you here at the tail end of the mullet run. I’d look at our videos that we have on that amazing event. That will be your best bet. Fish live mullet on the beaches. I wouldn’t go any heavier than 40 lb flouro for leader if you’re only targeting snook. They are more leader shy than many other inshore species. You may get some cut offs by toothy critters but lighter line and leader will increase chances of snook bite. As far as a spot goes… there’s always snook around palm beach inlet - but the action is where the bait is. If mullet are around, you may need to move around a bit and search for pods of bait and feeding activity and begin fishing there. Good luck. Thanks for watching

Hey man, love the vids! Do you think a medium heavy 7’ rod will be enough for surf?

@@watchyourlip3209 would a 7’6 rod be a nice middle ground?
