    Thanks so much I didn't know about that history of your president. Garfield Terrace glad he got a street named after him. It is ironic that they have a dead end sign by the street name.

    I was just at his home in Mentor, Ohio. Quite a nice home for the era. He was a farmer, preacher and teacher. A man who valued education. He was reluctant to accept the nomination for president.

    Cheers, great to learn historical facts about another country! Does Washington get really hot in Summer? Living in Australia I fear Summer. Fortunately it's Winter at the moment. I have only ever seen snow once in my life and that was on holidays in N.Z. ❤

      That was the train station he arrived at when he got to NJ. But he was shot at the Baltimore and Potomac Station in Washington D.C.

    garfield lingered for a long time (80 days) and should have recovered except for the fact he had 19th century care. it's said george washington also died from the care of his doctors (bled him to death)
