I love my 22 ARC. I have 2. I built a custom AR with a Odin Works 21" barrel and then a miss match of parts mostly form Aero. My other gun is a Ruger gen 2. Both shoot all three factory Hornady loads well but I've mostly ran the 62s. They are a hammer on Coyotes and that's really all I hunt with 22 cals here in UT.
I’ve built a 22arc 22” proof with the rifle +1. The 88gr is my do it all cartridge. I’m using necked down 6.5 Grendel brass. The 22arc factory ammo I found the neck too loose for reloads. But I agree it’s fantastic for deer and coyotes. Was hoping to try for moose ( less than 150 yards I hunt heavily wooded mountains) but didn’t happen this season.
Have you tried the 62 grain v-match on coyotes yet? Just finished a 18”, A5 length w/SA bleed off, KAK spring loaded H1 buffer with KAK flat wire..running the SA in bleed off mode on highest setting and cycles excellent..almost no recoil at all. Only fired this rifle approx 60-ish rounds so far, 75 grain black and 62 grain v-match. Zero at 100 yards and found almost no drop at 300. Absolutely love this round so far.
Built a 20” 6.5 Grendel few years ago and it has taken several whitetail easy. I got too heavy of a barrel for walking about so it’s a static gun. Looking at putting together a 22 arc bolt gun as a lightweight option for varmints and predators. Interested to see your testing with a bolt gun.
I cant swing both so it’s either a 22arc or 6 arc. Leaning more towards the 6mm but i already have a pile of 77gr, 75gr, and 69gr projectiles for the 22arc
I went for the 6ARC because it’s basically Diet Creedmoor in an AR15. 22ARC looks neat for punching holes in paper at long range with no recoil, but I think the energy and lack of wind drift of the 6mm makes it more practical for hunting, long range, and SPR purposes. You can’t go wrong with either!
@@gabemondryhaven’t checked personally, but some of the vids I’ve seen on the .22 ARC, Creedmore, etc, they say the 22 projectiles on the heavier end have a better BC than the 6mm?
Do you shoot more steel, meat, or paper? Grendel hits steel louder and has 131 different factory ammo loads. 6mm is easier to hit steel with due to less wind drift, great for varmints and medium game. 22 ARC is great for connecting on steel and varmints, not as loud on steel. Every time I spot 6mm and below, even Dasher or 243 AI, etc., they get anemic at distance. Hard to spot or hear. 6.5mm has more "slap" on the steel, still allows you to easily self-spot. All take the AR-15 where it needs to be though.
I keep debating on getting a 6arc bolt gun. Then rebarrel my 6.5 Grendel to a 6arc. On the other hand keep my grendel and invest in 22 arc. 6.5g for deer and hogs. 22 arc for coyotes and steel plinking. Or do both with a 6 arc. Decision decisions
Wade, I have special interest in either 22 ARC or 22 Creedmoor for a reason you have probably not been asked before. Is there a way that I can discuss this on line with you? Other way? I know you are busy but if you could spare a few minutes I would be grateful. Thanks John
I love how Wade is out killing animals with the systems he is testing. Not just shooting paper and steel.

22 ARC IS WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT

My 12.5 22ARC shoots the factory Hornady 62eld vt at 2785. ES of 70.5 and SD of 19.3.

Just put a 16"steel proof arc on a superduty and love that thing it shoots 62s 3050 fps that thing is badass.
Looking forward to your gas tuning chat. I have both rifles one 6mm and one 5.664 mm really like them both
Looks like I'm gonna build a 22 arc now
16in barrel 22 arc bolt action next please

What do you wanna optimize for? Deer or coyotes?
Do you shoot more steel, meat, or paper?

6.5mm has more "slap" on the steel, still allows you to easily self-spot.

What is the weight of the build in the current configuration.
I think 8-9 lbs , I’ll weight it and get back with you.

Solid logic with Grendel and 22 arc. That said, more is better. 😂
"6.5g for deer and hogs. 22 arc for coyotes and steel plinking." >>> hell yeah
I would love to hear more about what led up to that moose hunt.

Gotta go shoot mine tomorrow. Built the damn thing and it’s been in the safe for four months. Try the 90gr a-tips

Any interest in 338 ARC?
Not a bunch , but we will play with it some .
I assembled a 22 arc and I can’t get it to cycle for the life of me.
Start with trying a different mag .
Past that I believe I’ve covered this in a podcast. I’ll look back and see.
.22 ARC...NO, barely just got a scope on my Howa 6ARC. I work way too much!🤦
Great gun. Any idea when Ally Outdoors is gonna get their website running?
Outdoors no idea , munitions is up.
That gun is sexy. Would be hard to paint that one.
I bought one for my son
