- Kyler Murray was carted off the field last night against the New England Patriots with a non-contact knee injury. According to reports there is quote, “little doubt” that the QB tore his ACL but will undergo further testing today. The Pats went onto win 27-13. If I were an owner or GM and I kept seeing these situations take place there would be no way I am guaranteeing money to guys when these situations become more common. Or if I would need to guarantee a contract, I will discount it heavily versus if the player rolls the dice and takes a much higher contract with no guarantees.

"We make the least amount of money and play the most physical sport."- Shannon. Well Shay Shay, of course you get the least amount. The likely hood of all that money sitting on the bench is far greater in football than any other sport. Matt Stafford is a great example of this currently. That goes for all positions by the way, not just the QB. I'm not against paying guys, it's just the more elite contracts you have in this sport the greater chance you have of significant drop-off from the backup.
And there's also 53+ players per team. Basketball is like 15-20
