    Thank you for cleaning up your camp site and leaving it better than you found it. We do the same. I wish more people would pack out what they pack in.

    My brother and I would ride in our family friends JT with the V8 when on overlanding trips. We called him Uncle Rock and he'd say "like a cork out of a bottle" after the gentle roar of the engine pulled us out of an obstacle.

    Bone Creek campsite. Camped there and fishing was great. Smallmouth spawn at end on May around rocky islands and points.

    I think a trailer is a great option for a family, especially if your daily driver is also your overland rig, but I feel like some of the Patriot Campers, or pop up tent campers are still “glorified tents”.
    I know Patriot offers the X3 camper which is more of a “live-in” option, and that’s great...but it’s still a soft sided tent. I hope Patriot branches out into a hybrid set up with hard sided walls and a pop top roof for more livable interior space and comfort.
    Zone RV out of Australia makes an awesome Expedition 12.0 camper that is like a large tear drop trailer with hard sided walls and a pop top. It has 2 queen size beds, standing height, climate control, storage, and an interior bathroom with a shower, as well as an outdoor kitchen, but it’s not available in the USA yet.
    In the next few years when I have enough money saved up for a camper I hope we in the USA have many more options like what Australia is currently able to crank out.
    Mission Overland Summit and TetonX Hybrid Pop Up Campers look really good, but they don’t seem to have the quality of the Patriot Campers yet.
    For price comparison purposes, the Patriot X3 is $53,000 while a live in camper like an Airstream Basecamp 20X is $48,000. Obviously the Patriot is way more capable off road, but the Airstream is also way more comfortable and does have their “off-road” package on it. I guess what I’m saying is it seems like a lot of money for a tent on wheels even if the camper is phenomenal, so I hope they offer more options and the market gets more competitive.

      @david05111 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I struggle with the price of the X3. It's amazing, don't get me wrong, and I'm sure Patriot campers could easily put me in my place as far as how much labor, materials, and overall investment go into building one. But it's still over $50k, no matter how you slice it. Seems mad

      Land Rover exactly, how is it being sold to private companies or owners?

    • @landrover827
      @landrover827 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GOJ739 that’s my point. Either they were off the nature reserve / BLM / federal land or something is very suspicious. Do they actually own it, or is it leased for grazing for live stalk?

    • @athromt
      @athromt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This area is a crazy patchwork of state, federal, and private lands. Some of the private land owners have agreed to put their lands into conservation status, so it's accessible to the public, and others have not. There are still a lot of working farms and ranches around the core of the conservation areas. In fact, the land access issue is a the source of a lot of conflict between neighbors. Check out the American Prairie Reserve for more info on this. www.americanprairie.org/

    Better to ask for forgiveness than permission especially with a trailer when your 30 plus miles deep in the bush to some random arbitrary closers that could’ve been posted near the beginning of the trial so as to save fate.
