SPRING CAL: WEEK 1- “SPRING THINGS THROW” (Right Hand Crochet) : Updated 5/6/2024

- Hi friends! In this video I offer week 1 of 5 of our Spring Crochet A Long! It begins 5/4/2024, and ends 6/1/2024! Each week (Saturdays) I will spin for stitches and build our project according to the stitches the wheel gives us.
Materials Needed:
1)Approx. 2100 yards of a Med 4 weight yarn. (Actual qty will vary depending on hook choice and tension)
2)Crochet hook- Follow recommended hook size on the ball band or skein.
3)Scissors and a Darning needle
Wk1: 14 Rounds - Stitch and Count
#1- Half Double Crochet: 1 X 8
#2- Double Crochet: 4 X 10
#3- Double Cross: 8 X 14
#4- Double Cross: 12 X 18
#5- Double Crochet: 16 x 22
#6- Double Crochet: 20x 26
#7- Extended Half Double: 24 X 30
#8- Extended Half Double: 28 X 34
#9- Twins: 32 X 38
#10- Twins: 36 X 42
#11- Double Crochet: 40 X 46
#12- 1/2 Double cross: 44 X 50
#13- Double Crochet: 48 X 54
#14- Front Post Double: 52 X 58

Juan if you happened to see my earlier freaking out comment, I apologize profusely!!!!! I deleted it. I worked on this project/problem and somehow all I had to do was calm the f*** down.
I did end up staying with the 5mm red Tulip Etimo. ( had to drop the Furls metal streamline). But, my work panned out.
So, I am proud of me! I am happy for you and I am ecstatic for me ❣️

Thank you for redoing this tutorial. I ripped out my other one 2 times and even changed my yarn and couldn’t get it. Definitely will try again,so I can catch up. I do have a question. With the type of yarn you are using, why did you cut your yarn after round 2? Were you color controlling or just showing how to end if you were using a different color

Hi Juan love your videos! I noticed on the last row we had to do a front double post but by doing it on the back of the blanket, we created the back double post stitch on the front. Will we be using the ridge of row 13 in the next video?

Hi!!! i see you are using cotton, is there a benefit to using cotton for this spring throw over an acrylic? will it be cooler? or lighter? Not sure if i have cotton with that much yardage.
You can use whatever you’d like. I’m choosing to use a cotton blend as a lighter option for warmer weather. The pattern set forth will work with whatever you chose :)
What is the difference in the videos? I already completed it Sunday. 😥
He added a second row of hdc and changed how he completed the twin st. He removed the ch2 on the twins st. So your st count will be off.

Is this a redo of your first video which you said you may have made a mistake on.?
Yes. I ripped it completely apart and started over
I am a bit confused. There were 4 stitches selected on the wheel, so I thought it was 2 rows for each stitch?
Would it be possible to list the order of rows?

Yes I am, m in the UK and can’t get Caron cotton cakes, I’m using a 4 weight acrylic and a 5mm hook and it’s looking beautiful 😍
