The dedication to sharing your personal rides, all the fotography, stopping and set ups that take longer to do than the ride itself, then the cutting and blending for editing are superb! again thank you sharing the western mountains views from this flat land Ohio guy
Thanks! I appreciate that👍 You're correct, it actually takes much longer to edit the video than the ride itself and the filming process can be very tedious. Setup camera, ride back and forth. Pack up camera. Then repeat 10 times. After I finish editing the video though, it all seems worth it. Ride on & ride safe buddy
3000 miles on my 300 Rally now - pretending to be my "winter bike" to not get my NC750X covered in salt and mud. The NC is already my "downsized" version of an Africa Twin, easier and more fun in many ways). In fact, the NC suddenly is less fun to ride. Never had I owned another bike like the CRF that makes so much fun, regardless of horsepower. Guess, that´s my favorite summer bike too now. It shifted my whole perspective about weight, power, handling and the ability to do so much with ease, where other bikes simply stay on paved road. Your vids gave me the confidence to cover highway miles and longer stretches with higher speed, you influenced my decision, thanks for that buddy. And your vids are superb, focus on landscape and riding, exploring and adventure, not you and your bike. Love it. Stay safe and happy miles!
I know what you mean🍻 I was actually lukewarm on the Rally when it was first introduced but on a whim decided to put a deposit down on one to give it a test ride. I had never experienced a dual sport that was so comfortable on the highway so I took a chance and bought it. The more I traveled with the bike the more it amazed me - I've had my best adv motorcycle experiences with this bike now. The key to what makes it amazing is it's lightweight - it's very confidence inspiring off-road. Glad you are properly enjoying the bike! - Ride safe my friend👍
This video is so so good for three reasons: (1) the cinematography is awesome, great editing, transitions all brilliant! (2) this showcases the nature of the US! Are you sure you don’t work for Parks America! They should pay you for this! (3) that you don’t need a big expensive bike with all the gadgets! That simplicity is best and an adventure can happen … if you make it happen! I could go one! Love this video!
Wow, thank you! That's a very humbling comment👍 100% agreed with not needing a big expensive bike for adventure riding. This bike has been a real paradigm shift in how I view adventure motorcycles.
You certainty have many skills. Your riding skills, your video work is outstanding, your editing is first rate, youtube music is usually something to be either turned off or painfully endured but your choice is very good so it comes as no suprise that even your lawn looks good!
wow I appreciate your very kind words - I'm not really that skilled though, I still have lots to learn about all the things you listed... especially the lawn care :) Ride on & ride safe my friend 🍻
Yeah, I know what you mean - I used to own a 2012 V Strom 650, It's a good bike, but going off-road with that much weight can be a real handful. Ride safe buddy👍
Thank you *so much* for sharing. A Brit like me is just blown away by the scale and beauty of the lands you ride. I have seen the mighty Colorado & the bottom of the Grand Canyon, but that's just one of the multitude of jaw-dropping vistas you ride through. I look forward to more of your vlogs in 2022 - ride safely & Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Thanks Hugh! I always appreciate your nice comments👍 I 100% agree with the vast natural beauty of America - The unbelievable part to me is that most Americans don't take advantage of it. It's nearly free for the taking! Yes ride safe and Merry Christmas to you as well
I can't believe you went to all those places on a dirt bike, you must be in pretty good shape Trek. Your drone has amazing tracking capabilities and does a great job maneuvering around the trees, it's like having a Videographer that you don't have to pay. All of the shots were beautiful and obviously I enjoyed watching as usual!
Yeah I've been really happy with the tracking abilities of the drone. I don't really push it though, if you notice all of these locations are pretty open which makes life easier for the tracking. When riding in dense forest I still don't feel comfortable using it. Hope the Air 2S has been working well for you & thanks for the nice words👍
Greetings from Ireland. You are a very skilled rider and your video work and editing is excellent. I've had my 250 Rally for 3 and a half years which is the longest I've ever kept a bike in my long riding career it's a class act so good I'm trading her for a 300 Rally next month . I have family in Seattle, Vanvouver Island, and California. I'm looking forward to some back country riding in CA with my son on his 450L next year. I look forward to exploring more traiks with you by TH-cam next year. Ride on
Thank you sir - I agree, I feel like the Rally is a very underrated motorcycle, it's much more capable than most people realize. Backcountry riding in CA sounds epic - ride safe buddy👍
I grew up in Ireland and my Honda 1982 XL185 (958 AZO) took me and my tent everywhere. It was indestructible and a dual purpose bike was perfect for the winding, bumpy roads. The upright seating position great to view the scenery. I imagine the 300 rally would be the evolution of all that and perfect for Ireland. I ride bigger bikes these days in Boston but I'm very tempted by The 300 Rally. Enjoy the west coast. It's incredible!
Well done TE and thank you for the time you have taken to share your experiences so your subscribers can live vicariously! Ride on and keep on sharing!!!
I’m addicted to your videos!! I was researching what my first bike should be, and what I’m looking to use it for. I love how versatile this thing is, the reliability and maintenance schedule, it just seems like a unicorn in many ways. Living on the west coast of Canada, I’m definitely excited to go explore places I’ve yet to see with this bike in the future. Great content, never stop uploading, it’s inspiring!
Thanks! I'm happy to hear you like my videos - The Rally really would make for a great first bike👍 Especially in beautiful western Canada - A lot of good adventure possibilities there.
Wow. Pierre
Honda should be paying you for these commercial quality adverts! Mine's on order thanks in part to you but it's going to be months! I'm south of you in Edgewood, WA.
Thanks🍻 Can't believe that these are still so hard to come by - hopefully you'll get one soon. Definitely an incredible bike for light ADV travel, It continues to surprise me with what it's capable of.
Thank you sir! This vid will help me get through winter as well, my bikes have been just sitting for the last two months now. I'm ready for the summer riding season already🍻
Wow! What an amazing video. Would you mind if I share it on FB. Thank you for sharing adventure 👍👍👍💪💪💪. Hope you will be riding with Itchy Boots sooonnnn...she's in Ecuador right now with Alaska (😊CRF300-Rally) God Bless and ride safe always.
Thanks buddy, that's a really nice comment👍I'm honestly not that good though, all the information I used to create these videos is available on youtube for free.
@@TrekEthos Yes I am in Chelan with snow and ice on the roads. I used to ride in the winter when I was in my twenties but at the ripe old age of 70 I am not going to risk getting hurt.
@@TrekEthos I would enjoy some kind of "review" video on the 300L Rally. I suspect you are one of the few with as many real-world multi-purpose miles as you have at this point. Many reviews I have seen are pretty short term, your thoughts would definitely carry some weight.
Congrats! I love my Rally - It's turned into my most used and favorite adv bike that I own. I've never had a more versatile bike - I can ride it on single track ORV trails, double track, backroads, and highspeed interstate. I've never owned a bike with that kind of latitude before.
Your videos are wonderful therapy for me, I love the Rally 300L and I will be able to buy it in 2022 / THX for the awesome moments of dreams that you give us here in youtube ★★★★ ★( I bought the ZUMO XT, fantastic GPS)
This video is an absolute piece of art!! I was wondering if you had someone taking the drone parts while you were riding, but I’ve just read in some comments that is all the tracking abilities of the drone itself! I have a Mavic Air 2, I don’t know if it is the same as yours (not the “S” version ) but you made me go deep into it to try to do something beautiful (although I know the post editing period is as important as the filming time) Btw, I have a CRF 250 Rally! What a bikes we have!!!!
Thank you sir🍻 I use two drones for these videos, a DJI mini 2 for the scenery shots and a Skydio 2 for the tracking shots. Yeah a lot of work goes into filming & editing each video but the end result is worth it. Definitely send me a link of your video when you get something you like👍 Ride safe my friend!
What a great video, can see the effort you put in and it's an absolute masterpiece! Those scenery and drone footage gives me goosebumps. It's much better than many adv promos! Wondering which drone you were using?
Realy great. I was watching videos for this bike and happily found your channel. Would you mind making a video about your setup like bags, mods and so on?
Awesome work! Thanks for creating. Any suspension upgrades or stock? I've got the 300 Rally myself. Only 750 miles on it. But looking forward to a big season next spring. I have a second home in Moab. Should be fun!
Thanks! My suspension is stock & I don't currently have any plans of upgraded it given how I use my bike. I am very... very jealous of your second home in Moab :) Talk about an awesome place to have a second residence - there are so many incredible riding destinations in that area! Ride safe my friend👍
Great, I've had nothing break on the bike or wear out prematurely. I just change the oil and tires and the bike just goes & goes. I haven't put the bike down still so I don't know how well it takes a fall. The only limitation I found with the bike was the one overheating incident while climbing corkscrew pass in Colorado - Admittedly though this was a fairly challenging riding situation (Non stop climbing steep grades and low speeds at around 12000' elevation).
Like your videos. I've been doing your same style of riding since the late 60s!. Nothing better than adventure touring!. I don't know why but your honda sounds like it's always wound out?
Thanks for sharing these amazing videos. Did you ever consider a t7 or an Africa twin. I did at some point but more I see your videos the more convinced I become I should buy the 300 rally. The other bikes just are so big and heavy. Appreciate any input.
Yeah - I actually own a T7 as well. I initially thought that I'd use the T7 more than the Rally but I ended up preferring the Rally more for my riding needs. The T7 is absolutely superior on road and can maintain highway speeds no problem even up inclines or with lots of weight on it. It's also more exciting to ride than the Honda, it lofts the front wheel easily on power alone in 1st gear and it's stiffer suspension makes the bike more responsive and entertaining when ridden hard. But it is very noticeably heavier than the Rally and it has a higher center of gravity which makes the bike feel even heavier than the 452 lbs it weighs. What I learned from owning both of these bikes is that for me the trade off of power & sport was worth it for the 120lb weight advantage. The Hondas weight also sits low which makes the bike feel lighter than its weight suggests. I just have more adventurous rides when I'm on the Honda whereas I turn around faster when I'm on the Yamaha. That said if I need to ride somewhere on the road - I'll take the T7 every time, if I'm going to be riding a lot off-road though I always take the Rally. Owning both bikes gives me a tremendous amount of latitude in my adventure rides and both bikes together cost less than one Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES. Ride safe buddy👍
@@TrekEthos - Wow. Thank you for your very insightful, generous and valuable response. Much appreciated. Greetings and respect to all from Durango Mexico 🇲🇽
Trek, I really like watching your videos. The 1k mile in a day is great as well as this one. I've done 1k mile days on my BMW but that is impressive on the 300. I live where our 2 lane state roads are 70mph with long grades uphill. Our interstates are 80mph. I see you can do 85+. I'm wondering if you think I could hold at least 70mph on long grades? I don't want to become a road-pizza by a cattle hauler. I love the idea of the 300 Rally because I have owned big bikes and small and my favorite for the past few years is a road legal Honda 230 (does 60mph if the wind is just right). It's 100lbs less than the rally but loads of fun on single-track and two-tracks. With the little Hondas, less is more! Have you thought of doing a review video on the Rally? I see a lot of "first ride" "reviews" but nothing from someone who has put as many miles on one or as many trips as you have. You have a ton more credibility than the 500 mile reviews or first ride reviews. I think many of us would love to hear what you have the say, preferably the good, bad, and ugly. Thanks again for all you put into making such great videos. You're right up there with Itchy Boots.
That's a tough question - it depends on how steep the grade is. Climbing mountain pass roads (rt 2 & i90) in Washington to around 5000' elevation has the bike maxing out in the low 70s. The worst I experienced was riding from Colorado to Utah on rt 70 where the bike maxed out around 65 mph - granted this was at around 7000' elevation. Just to clarify too the bike tops out at 83mph on a flat road so it can't sustain 85+ mph. I eventually got used to the pace of the bike and it doesn't feel dangerous to me as I was never the slowest vehicle on the road - I was still overtaking loaded semi trucks. My previous daily bike was a Ducati Multistrada 1200S, so I went from 150hp to 30hp - It definitely took awhile to recalibrate my expectations. I have seen several comments asking for a review on the bike and maybe I'll make something if it's helpful. I also own a T7 & a WR250R and I admit that my thoughts on the three bikes & how they all compare would have been helpful to me before I bought one. We'll see. I'm glad you like the videos and took the time to comment - Ride safe my friend👍
@@TrekEthos I appreciate the background and more information on speeds. Most of my riding here is between 5000'' up to just over 6000'. Your response helps me with expectations. I certainly don't expect the 300 to ride like my big bikes I own(ed). I plated, uncorked, and regeared a Honda 230 and it works great for gravel roads as I can run 50-55 mph on the gravel comfortably. It does great on single and two-tracks (weighs 238 lbs) but on the pavement I can only run about 60 mph with no wind and no hills. I also have a BMW 1100 but I just can't ride it comfortably anymore as the seating position kills my arthritic knees after an hour. I can ride my 230 all day without that problem so I'm looking to sell the BMW and get the 300 Rally as the Rally seating position is similar to the 230. You inspired me with the 1000 miles in a day, and 1000 miles in 36 hour videos. I have a buddy who just got a 300 Rally so when the weather breaks and his is broken in I hope to take it for an hour to see how it does on the 70mph roads around here. I toyed around with buying a WR250R a few years back so I'd be interested to hear any comparison you may make. I've owned some 650 dual sports and they were pigs because of their weight so I'd like to hear what you have to say about a T7 too. I know what it takes to record, fly the drone, edit, and share videos. It's a lot of work. Thank you for sharing that with us.
My bike is almost completely stock. I only have a Garmin Zumo XT GPS, a PMR rear rack with aluminum expansion plate & connection for a 1 Gallon Rotopax, and a waterproof Nelson Rigg Tank Bag. This setup completely works for my travel needs and I don't have any plans to add/change anything else about the bike.
Thanks👍 That would depend a lot on your geographical area. Where do you intend to ride out of? I'm based in the USA and have more knowledge about the PNW region than other areas of the USA.
Great shots (as per usual :)) not sure if I like the exhaust noise during the drone shots. Exhaust noise isn't that great on this bike when stock. But at least its not loud.
I havent watched a video of yours in a while but I stumbled upon this one. As always, amazing work and the adventure looks even more incredible. Out of curiosity, what the drone you use? Love how well it can track you.
Thanks man🍻 The drone's a skydio 2 - it has the best tracking I've seen in a drone but it's not completely foolproof. I use it strategically in large open areas to make sure it doesn't crash into anything. Every time I've pushed it in areas with thicker tree coverage it will nearly crash or it will get lost trying to find you... that said though it's still impressive. Hope your MT is treating ya well👍
@@TrekEthos Thanks for the info, I will definitely look into that! MT is fine, getting a little bored of it I guess. i've been debating on getting a Rally like yours though. Damn near the perfect all around bike.
Oh I see - Have you ridden a Rally yet? I honestly love it for adventure riding, I prefer it to my T7 which I never would have guessed unless I owned them both. It's the least sporty bike in the world though - slow and soft. It would pair well with your MT if you were planning on keeping that.
@@TrekEthos I have not ridden a rally. I had a 250L about 5 years ago and loved it though. I don't care about going fast. I just want something I could ride on road/ off road and can maintain highway speeds easily. If I can find a used Rally, I would definitely debate it and keep the 07 but we will see. Have you seen the new Honda Transalp 750? I like it over the T7 actually, but will also be really hard to find I bet.
Is your commute on the highway? The Rally is far superior to the KLR on the highway due to the 6th gear and it vibrates less at higher RPM. If it is lower speed roads it probably wouldn't be much of a difference between the two bikes. I owned a 2009 KLR and I far prefer the Rally - It's notably better on the highway and off-road in my opinion.
Another fantastic video! You've really made fantastic use of that machine in such a short time and I must admit you may have swayed me to sell the XT250 which just can't do the highway the way you show is possible on the CRF300 Rally. Can you confirm you're using a Skydio 2? and may I ask how you did the static panning shots of you riding by in Canyonlands? I'm guessing a wide angle and edit in post? Thanks again.
In the process of selling my WR250R and trying to get a deposit down on the 300l Rally. Yet, last week, I was tempted by a used 701LR (it sold before i could pull the trigger), and frankly I'm torn. The WR250R was wonderful on the WABDR trails but brutal on the tarmac with luggage in the rain and wind. Made me decide to sell it for a more powerful bike. Allegedly the 701 is approximate in weight to the Honda, and weight is always a deciding factor for me. Clearly the 701 has more power than I would ever use. Hard choice. Would you consider trading up to a 701 or 690? Your experience with the Honda doing long freeway miles makes me give your opinion more weight than most.
Yeah I know what you mean about the choice being hard - no matter which way you go the bike will be compromised in some way... There is no unicorn bike. I honestly didn't consider the Husky or the KTM when buying my Rally. I've had a poor experience with the reliability of European brands and a near perfect experience with the Japanese brands. I travel solo and far away from home so reliability (and dealer network) is more important to me than power. As I mentioned to you before, the Honda isn't much more powerful than the WR - The big difference to me is the fairing and the windscreen which combine to make the bike surprisingly comfortable on the highway. I'd never ride my WR all the way to CO but on the Rally it's not really that difficult. The Rally accelerates faster at highway speeds and can carry more speed up grades but it can still run out of power if the grades get steep. There was one road in Utah @ around 7000' where the bike topped out at 65mph. Not sure if I mentioned this to you before, but I also own a T7 and it's freakishly impressive off-road & has about 3 times the power of the Honda allowing it to cruise 80+ all day with gear BUT I still prefer the Rally for BDR rides - weight is everything. Ride safe buddy👍
I'm thinking about getting the crf300l rally and have been watching your videos. Your vids are actually what sold me on this bike lol. Have you changed the gearing or anything on this bike or running complete stock?
Congrats on the new 300L - yeah I've had no issues with the bike other than the overheating incident while climbing corkscrew pass in CO. That's not really a problem with the bike though, more of me reaching the bikes limitations. Ride on and ride safe buddy👍
Have you ever had an issue with a flat tire/tube, or anything when riding in some of these less traveled places? What do you bring in your toolkit/emergency kit for just in case situations?
yeah, I've had things go wrong before. Two flats, I loss my front brakes once, and I had a foot peg stuck up so I couldn't use it. I always carry tools to replace a tube - just last year when I was doing the 10k mile 48 state ride this happened in the middle of nowhere in north dakota - would have really been in a tough spot without the tools & supplies. In addition to the the tools for a flat repair, I carry a metric allen key set which allows you to disassembly the majority of the bike. I also carry the general type tools like a pocket knife, slip joint pliers, needle nose pliers, P2 phillips & flat head, adjustable wrench, duct tape, electrical tape, assorted size zip ties, etc. I also carry a smaller 1/2" torque wrench for longer trips since you have to adjust the chain on a nearly daily bases. For shorter trips I'll use a 3/8" breaker bar for the axel nut. All these things fit into a small tool bag minus the tube and torque wrench(or breaker bar) which I store elsewhere on the bike. Also make sure you know how to do all this work first in your garage before you head out into the unknown. It would be an awful experience to learn how to replace a tube in the middle of nowhere when your tired and it's raining and you're running out of sunlight. Ride safe buddy👍
i can't even imagine riding that many miles in the span of an entire year let alone the time you did it in. what seat are you using? do you use a cruise control mod? that bike was definitely not designed for road trips but you sure as shit said otherwise
The bike is pretty much stock - the seat is stock and there is no cruise control. Weird thing is I also own a Tenere 700 which you'd think I'd use for this type of stuff but nope, I use the Rally. The 120lb weight advantage of the Honda is hard to deny when off-roading.
Your videos are the best. Here’s an idea for another one: New exhaust, new K&N air filter, and remapped ECU. Then take the bike back to the dyno and compare HP and torque vs stock, compare top speed vs stock too. Might cost ya $1,500 but the number of views you’ll get will likely pay for it. 😁👍🏼
Hey man, strongly considering buying the rally. Just some questions if you don’t mind. How much weight do you have on the bike including yourself and your equipment? I’m 5’6 and 160lbs wondering if you think that my height would be an issue on the bike. Do you do any maintenance like oil changes while on your trips of bend the rules with the maintenance intervals listed in then manual?
Sure👍 - With riding gear and luggage, I'd say I have about 210 lbs of weight on the bike while traveling. I'm 6' tall with about a 34" inseam and can easily flat foot the bike. While I'm seated on the bike (just me, no luggage ~185lbs), the seat height is 32". If your inseam is much shorter than that, you may have issues with flat footing the bike. The bike has very long service intervals (8000 miles for oil) - I actually wore through two rear tires before I had to change the oil and filter on the bike. The long service intervals makes traveling straightforward without the need to bend any maintenance interval rules. Best of luck with your new bike decision🍻
I suspect the powertrain on this bike will last a long, long time if you keep up with the maintenance. There is no scheduled major engine work in the bikes maintenance schedule shown in the owners manual. By contrast, on the motocross derived CRF450RL dual sport you have to replace the pistons and crankshaft every 19,000 miles. I still own the first Honda I every bought which was a Honda Recon ATV - 21 years later and the engine is still going strong on that thing.
Action and vista's every corner turned. You're a legend. I know how tedious the shooting can be setting up etc. Be careful it doesn't become a job. The joy of editing coming to fruition is such a buzz. Have you considered a 360 cam on a hand tripod for drive by's. Don't have to do it twice big time saver. Check out th-cam.com/video/6RNmdjP6tlU/w-d-xo.html ..... his shooting is simple and clever and effective as hell
I do have a 360 camera but I don't tend to use it. The issue for me with the 360 camera is similar to the gopro - the footage is extremely wide angle which tends to deemphasize the background and create barrel distortion. I currently use a 16mm (24mm equivalent) lens for my drive by shots which gives the footage a more realistic look. I only do this in areas where the drone isn't feasible to use. I'm still very much learning and finding my own style.
I've gone through one front tire and two rear tires. I went from the stock IRC to a Dunlop D605 and then back to the stock tire. I find the IRCs to be good 50/50 tires - The tire strikes a good balance between price/wear/on road performance/off road performance. It's also very easy to change a tube with these tires as opposed to the D605 and other tires I've tried.
@Trek Ethos I got 200miles on my stock tires the irc tires. They seem fine on the road so far haven't hit a lot of dirt due to ice up here. I may try michlein anakee next or motaz tractionator. I got the 300 for comuting so I need something good for road wear. But I still like to go off the beaten path but I ha e other bikes I am dedicating to the mud.
@Trek Ethos I was on ice for a few miles yesterday and the stock irc tires did rather well. Also went up some crazy hill climbs the tires worked great. Not sure why peeps say these tires suck.

Yes ride safe and Merry Christmas to you as well
Outstanding scenery
Beautiful places visited, perfectly presented video... go Honda
Thank you sir🍻
Very nice video and places .we have a nice planet
Inspiring ... thanks for sharing your adventure!
You have some awesome scenery there in the states! Cool vid.
Thanks! Ride on & Ride safe buddy👍
Well done TE and thank you for the time you have taken to share your experiences so your subscribers can live vicariously! Ride on and keep on sharing!!!
Great stuff and fantastic photography. thanks for the footage Mick
Thanks man, really appreciate that!
Wow. Pierre
I feel like I'm discovering a band before they become huge. Remember us when you have the # of subscribers you deserve.
Thanks man, really appreciate that🍻
I’ve become obsessed with these videos I have to buy one of these bikes
Very cool bike. High on my wish list.
Another masterpiece! thank you for sharing your world, your Country and how great that little Honda is!
Thanks! Glad you have been liking the videos - The Honda has indeed proven to be one great little bike
Wow! Great video!
This will help me get through winter cuz you just showed everywhere I want to ride, thanks.
Thank you sir! This vid will help me get through winter as well, my bikes have been just sitting for the last two months now. I'm ready for the summer riding season already🍻
You rocked it once again. Great stuff.
Thank you sir🍻
Brilliant use of the drone. You are an editing master. This video is a classroom on travel video technique. Thank you for posting it.
Wow thanks man! That's an incredibly nice comment🍻🍻
That's some great places you are riding, great footage. Keep it up 👍
Thanks 👍
Wonderful locations and great filming from above🤩
Epic video Sir! I posted this on the CRF300 thread on advrider. 👍
Thanks buddy👍 Hope your Rally is treating you well🍻
Thanks for the nice words👍 I'm glad you liked the video! Yeah by all means, feel free to share the video
Awesome footage!
Glad you enjoyed it🍻🍻
Keep hustling
All day everyday👍
I would love to take a class from you regarding how to create such soul-moving videos. I’d even pay for such info! Beautiful work!
Thanks buddy, that's a really nice comment👍I'm honestly not that good though, all the information I used to create these videos is available on youtube for free.
What are some of the most useful videos that you have found regarding creating your travel videos? Thank you!
Breathtaking! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful experience.
No problem! Glad you enjoyed it👍
Thanks for such a great video. I am looking forward to do some adventure riding next year after the snow melts.
Thank you👍 You and me both, it's the cold rainy season here in the PNW so my motorcycles are just sitting waiting for next year
@@TrekEthos Yes I am in Chelan with snow and ice on the roads. I used to ride in the winter when I was in my twenties but at the ripe old age of 70 I am not going to risk getting hurt.
I never comment to say how great a video is, but this is a great video😃!
Thanks for taking the time to leave a nice comment! It does not go unnoticed👍
Brilliant video man!
Thanks man! Really appreciate that🍻
@@TrekEthos I would enjoy some kind of "review" video on the 300L Rally. I suspect you are one of the few with as many real-world multi-purpose miles as you have at this point. Many reviews I have seen are pretty short term, your thoughts would definitely carry some weight.
@@skylerlovell1780 Thanks for the recommendation - I'll see what I can do
You can move shift light to red line so it doesn't flash at you the whole trip.
Yeah thanks for the reminder
Beautiful edit! thanks for taking us along for the ride. Very inspiring. I hope to cover some of the same ground some day. Satisfied subscriber!
Thank you! Glad to hear you have been enjoying the videos. It's definitely worth traveling the US by motorcycle👍 Ride on & ride safe my friend👍
Amazing ride footage!
Awesome video!! As usual!! I just put a deposit on a 22 Rally How do you like it so far!!
Congrats! I love my Rally - It's turned into my most used and favorite adv bike that I own. I've never had a more versatile bike - I can ride it on single track ORV trails, double track, backroads, and highspeed interstate. I've never owned a bike with that kind of latitude before.
Great video!
Thanks! I appreciate that👍
Roll on Bro...
That was awesome!!
Glad you liked it!
Your videos are wonderful therapy for me, I love the Rally 300L and I will be able to buy it in 2022 /
THX for the awesome moments of dreams that you give us here in youtube ★★★★ ★( I bought the ZUMO XT, fantastic GPS)
Interested in this bike, how has it been reliability wise during your ownership?
This video is an absolute piece of art!! I was wondering if you had someone taking the drone parts while you were riding, but I’ve just read in some comments that is all the tracking abilities of the drone itself! I have a Mavic Air 2, I don’t know if it is the same as yours (not the “S” version ) but you made me go deep into it to try to do something beautiful (although I know the post editing period is as important as the filming time)
Btw, I have a CRF 250 Rally!
Outstanding! Thanks for sharing. Subbed!
Thanks for the nice words and the sub👍 Ride safe buddy
What a great video, can see the effort you put in and it's an absolute masterpiece! Those scenery and drone footage gives me goosebumps. It's much better than many adv promos! Wondering which drone you were using?
Thank you sir👍 I use a DJI mini 2 and a Skydio 2. Ride safe buddy
Amazing
Thanks buddy👍
I would love to do something like this one day 👌🏾
Realy great. I was watching videos for this bike and happily found your channel.
Would you mind making a video about your setup like bags, mods and so on?
Thanks! I'll see what I can do about a bike setup video👍
I'm sold, if only I could find one to buy.
So how is that machine holding up ?
Great, I've had nothing break on the bike or wear out prematurely. I just change the oil and tires and the bike just goes & goes. I haven't put the bike down still so I don't know how well it takes a fall. The only limitation I found with the bike was the one overheating incident while climbing corkscrew pass in Colorado - Admittedly though this was a fairly challenging riding situation (Non stop climbing steep grades and low speeds at around 12000' elevation).
@@TrekEthos Engine Ice and Redline oil are a Great combination...I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOTH!
Are you kidding!? It’s a HONDA!
Dont know about ur mate, but it seems like that drone will never let go off you from its sight..! 😂
BTW this video is stunning 💥💥
Luar biasa kak...
fantastic !
Nicely done. If you're coming to Ohio, let me know.
Thanks buddy! Will do🍻
Trek, I really like watching your videos.
What’s your setup on your bike? Like accessories? Could you do a video on it ?
My bike is almost completely stock. I only have a Garmin Zumo XT GPS, a PMR rear rack with aluminum expansion plate & connection for a 1 Gallon Rotopax, and a waterproof Nelson Rigg Tank Bag. This setup completely works for my travel needs and I don't have any plans to add/change anything else about the bike.
@@TrekEthos thank you ! I am getting a rally sometime in the future and wondered what all you had on it
Newbie rider here. Where can I find information regarding all those trails that will accept motorcycles?
Again, beautiful video. Thank you!
Thanks👍 That would depend a lot on your geographical area. Where do you intend to ride out of? I'm based in the USA and have more knowledge about the PNW region than other areas of the USA.
I’m in North East Wisconsin
Great shots (as per usual :)) not sure if I like the exhaust noise during the drone shots. Exhaust noise isn't that great on this bike when stock. But at least its not loud.
Awesome, thanks for the views. What kind of editing platform do you use?
Thank you sir 👍 I use Davinci Resolve to edit all my videos
I like it over the T7 actually, but will also be really hard to find I bet.
beautiful like every video you make, it would be nice to have you as a neighbor and come with you to do these tours ihihih
Thanks🍻 Definitely worth trying some of these routes if you ever get to the states👍
You Think the klr 650 2022 would be better then the crf 300l for everyday commute 90 miles a day ?
Is your commute on the highway? The Rally is far superior to the KLR on the highway due to the 6th gear and it vibrates less at higher RPM. If it is lower speed roads it probably wouldn't be much of a difference between the two bikes. I owned a 2009 KLR and I far prefer the Rally - It's notably better on the highway and off-road in my opinion.
Looking to ride 90 miles a day on highway
Another fantastic video! You've really made fantastic use of that machine in such a short time and I must admit you may have swayed me to sell the XT250 which just can't do the highway the way you show is possible on the CRF300 Rally. Can you confirm you're using a Skydio 2? and may I ask how you did the static panning shots of you riding by in Canyonlands? I'm guessing a wide angle and edit in post? Thanks again.
Are you ever going to do a talk review ?
Great video I've just purchased a 300l. Has your rally been trouble free?
Congrats on the new 300L - yeah I've had no issues with the bike other than the overheating incident while climbing corkscrew pass in CO. That's not really a problem with the bike though, more of me reaching the bikes limitations. Ride on and ride safe buddy👍
Another great video! What drone are you using?
Thanks! I use a DJI mini 2 & a Skydio 2🍻 I like your channel man, your content resonates with me - I've subbed👍
@@TrekEthos Oh wow... thanks for the sub. You're producing some great content, way better than what I'm doing. All the best.. Dan
I think I’ve said this on another of your videos, but I’m so tired of looking at all over the handlebar videos. This isn’t that and it’s great
Have you ever had an issue with a flat tire/tube, or anything when riding in some of these less traveled places?
How tall and heavy are you? Would this bike be too small for 6"2 and 200?
I'm 6' tall and with full riding gear weigh about 190-195 lbs. I don't think this bike would be too small for you.
@@TrekEthos good to hear, thanks!
Which drone do you use?
I assume that's a skydio drone? No way dji can follow like that!
Your bike, other than the navigation and rear rack, is completely stock, isn’t it?
You're correct, the bike's basically stock.
How many mile you think the 300 l motor will last before major overhaul ?
I suspect the powertrain on this bike will last a long, long time if you keep up with the maintenance. There is no scheduled major engine work in the bikes maintenance schedule shown in the owners manual. By contrast, on the motocross derived CRF450RL dual sport you have to replace the pistons and crankshaft every 19,000 miles. I still own the first Honda I every bought which was a Honda Recon ATV - 21 years later and the engine is still going strong on that thing.
Do you have someone piloting the drone or do you keep it in “chase” mode to get these shots?
The drone is autonomous - it automatically follows me while avoiding obstacles. Ride safe buddy👍
Are you using stock tires for all these miles ? And have you had to change tires yet. ?
💪
Ok who's operating the drone while you ride?
The drone is autonomous - it follows me and avoids obstacles on its own. Ride safe buddy👍
@@TrekEthos Amazing footage I really enjoy your videos!
