same happened to me, can't transfer from iphone to mac because too many items, so I hope this works, at that speed it could take weeks though, hopefully it's faster.

I agree with you with iCloud.. I wish there would be an option that will pop up when your deleting something on your iPhone and if you want to save it on your iCloud..
I can't find it. It seems like iCloud has some settings that are configurable and I see a message about deleting in icloud but? It feels confusing and I can't reliably see where that happens. Look also on Apple ID settings for iCloud, not just the phone? I backup notes in an email account but I think my phone and iCloud are not totally mirrored. I used up all iCloud space but can't read clearly what is in there or choose what to let go of.

That's all the EXIF information and is part of the photo file, so if your camera captures and stores that in the file, yes, it should transfer across intact.
It's slow on some devices. As it depends on the amount of files that you have. As it has to scan the whole library. Then index them. And as you said. It's looks to see how much power the device is at.. It will work slower as to not deplete your battery. As the last thing you want. Is for the thing to shut down in the middle of a Backup...

I am using this to backup my ipad photos, I have over 9000 of them. I have a PC, and when I view the the USB directory on my computer, I noticed that its in years and months. Which is good for some but I would like just the photos and NO folders of years and months. Way to much clicking to find a photo! Any idea of how to remove the folder option?

Of course. It's just a flash drive, it appears on your computer as an external storage device. Whether individual iPhone or iPad apps can understand the file structure is something else, however, but that's on the app, not the iXpand.
I don't think you can do either; with the software it's really designed to back up photos and videos. It is, however, a USB drive, so you could possibly back up other files with a different app (no idea, just theorizing). Fairly sure the Books app can't open anything outside of its own library, but, again, there might be third party apps that could do what you seek.
Question: if you back up photo/video and do not delete from your phone and you take more photo/video and then back up again, will it copy everything it already copied and the new content? Or will it auto recognize what it’s already backed up?
You can setup the Sandisk Connect Wireless EOL flash drive as a Plex like Web Server. Accessing its videos/audio file links on a Public website which are shareable by anyone on the same wifi. Can anything similar be done with this version? I just posted how I used the Sandisk Connect Wireless.
It'll take a while, for sure, but even if your battery dies midway, it'll just resume when you plug it in again. Or pull it out when your battery's down to 20%, charge your phone up again, and let it resume!

Each time it should add more to the backup so sometimes the best approach is patience. If that's not happening, try reaching out to SanDisk customer service for more tips.

The new luxe version has usb-c as well so it’ll work with my iPad Pro usb-c iPhone 14 pro and future iPhones when they change from the lightning to usb-c like the ipad pros have changed.!!!
Not sure that the download feature lets you save those files to external devices like the SanDisk and I'm sure they aren't intending for you to download on one device, move the file, then play it on another device. But you can check with their customer service to see if they have a solution for you...
So glad I found you! I have a question & hope you can help me. I just bought the iXpand SanDisk Flash Drive Luxe 256 gig and love it. Got all the photos & videos backed up from my iPhone 13 Pro. I’ve never used a MacBook but my daughter has one so I plugged the flash drive in to her Mac. All the photos are there & easy to open. Problem is I can’t figure out how to open the video files on the Mac. I can see that they are there, but they are in faint text and I can’t click on them. Any idea how to open these? They are all .mov files made on my phone, so should be iOS compatible. Thanks- Ann
For me i need a system like a computer ie the possibility to open up many folders and subfolders. It seems u have that with this memory stick. Would i have to use my computer to type in each folder and subfolder or can i do it directly from my iphone/ ipad? Does iXpand software maintain the _original_ file creation dates - - or write them to the new location using the current date?

Lightning on one end, USB-3.0 on the other. My computer only has USB-C. So to get that to work, I needed an adapter.

You should be able to through apps like VLC, yes. Not sure the SanDisk app can handle that natively.

My 32 GB iPhone 7 is completely full. How long will it take to backup? Hours? Overnight? Will my battery last thru the backup?

For me i need a system like a computer ie the possibility to open up many folders and subfolders. It seems u have that with this memory stick. Would i have to use my computer to type in each folder and subfolder or can i do it directly from my iphone/ ipad? I want to only use my ipad / iphone bc i have a very bad back and sitting at my computer for long periods is out of the question. Can anyone answer me this?
