    Honestly judging was fine for the event. I feel like the issue right now is the announcers making judgments during or right after the runs, before the judges actually make their call. Then the judges make a call that contradicts the Jarod or Jacob’s opinion, they act confused and the controversy starts. Announcers just need to react and let the judges judge. Or they need to get a little seat time themselves to understand what’s going on between the cars a little better. Too many “well I think this is what happened” statements and not enough “this is what I saw, how will the judges score that?”

    Personally, I think OMT should have been the call for the final and maybe “JUST” a slight edge towards odi. Both leads were good but the chase’s were off on both sides into 1. Practically the same distance apart through 2 into. But I feel as odi was a bit better into the outer zone in 3 and James being a bit shorter on the line. None the less great event. Congrats to James. ( I promise I’m not trying to start a whole debate )

    • @SD_TG
      @SD_TG หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I think the lead should be judged harder because that’s what makes a good chase. That was the case here as Odi had less angle overall and was way off zone 2 and 3

    • @FlatlineGURU
      @FlatlineGURU หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SD_TG Oh absolutely. again just my opinion, I feel as its a 70-30 split with the judging in regards to lead vs chase. There's been countless runs where i've seen lead runs be sub par and chases be right there in the pocket mimicking the leads and still end up with a L (with of course a decent previous lead). I know its super hard for these judges to act in just a matter of minutes to really look into every detail of a run and see why someone did what they did in the chase position. Hell I give them tons of credit, but maybe JUST MAYBE give a little more of a look into the chase cars perspective.
      Solution you may ask?! STRAP ALL OF US FANS ON TOP OF THE CAR AND SEND IT!!! We'll let you know what we see. :)

    • @Anikan209
      @Anikan209 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I feel James had it easy if we're to judge on leads since the chases were pretty much identical, but in James' lead he fills all zones deep, whereas Odi is shallow in outer 2 and leaves it early, and shallow in outer 3 towards the line

    • @leofhr2966
      @leofhr2966 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Both leads were good, but we can see James had the better lead overall. Little to no mistakes and filled out every zone.
      As they say a "perfect" lead makes for a "perfect" chase, yet Odi didn't achieve that because in his chase run Odi missed OZ1 and wasn't as deep in 2 and 3.
      In the lead run for Odi and chase for James we saw that Odi ran hard into OZ1, James tried to match and catch up and went wide, but didn't drop a tire or make a major mistake, he actually did better than Odi in OZ1 compared to his chase because he filled the zone where Odi didn't.
      OZ2 Odi was shallow in his lead and wasn't as deep as James lead, basically doing the same as he did in his chase. James makes the mistake of being shallow and not as deep in OZ 2 chase, but that could be because he is following the lead, again lead makes for the chase, good and or bad.
      Transitioning on the inner clip was great for both swapped battles so nothing to say here.
      OZ3 we see that Odi improves his line by being deeper in his lead than his chase run, but James was still a lot more consistent and deeper in his lead. James is a little shallow here too in his chase on OZ3 and doesn't fill it completely, but again lead makes for chase.
      So this is just showing why lead runs are judged heavily, because they make or break the chase. Because James had a better lead it had no reason for Odi to mess up his chase, yet he did, while James didn't have a perfect chase, Odi's lead was okay at best, it had a lot of mistakes and needed to be better overall. So I personally think the final race is completely fair to call the win for James. Which I know you agree with, I am simply addressing the fact that the runs are very clear cut and not so much debatable as to it being an OMT or more so that Odi had a good run overall compared to James to debate if it could be OMT.

    • @user-hw4nu2qn7j
      @user-hw4nu2qn7j หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Odi blew out outer 1, barely even had a chance to light off before heading to the next one which was sloppy. Bad leads make bad chases. I think the right call was made.

    I would recommend the new announcer cuts back on making calls before the judges do. “I think this person won” “my guess is this” was getting annoying. It just muddies the waters at a tense moment and doesn’t add much to the conversation.
    Also, it may be helpful if you go drifting and get into some close tandems or something because your miss calling what’s going on sometimes. Or just don’t guess at why something happened just report what you know for sure.
    Not trying to be rude. Just giving feedback that I hope is appreciated. Totally get how hard the job is and I know I could never do it. Much respect.

      Facts, they kept calling “corrections” at OZ2 halfway through it. Whilst not understanding that there is a 2-3ft elevation change from the drag strip to the figure eight. The judges need to do ride alongs, track walks, and preferably drift each layout themselves. If they can’t they shouldn’t be telling anyone how “well” they did.

    I will say that Adam’s lead runs are aggressive which makes them harder to chase - compared to buttery smooth leads by Deane, Shanahan, Asbo making them a bit easier to chase. That’s my take 😊

      @aRell504 I think you are contradicting yourself there. How can someone achieve consistent runs that are considered "perfect" or near that level, and yet not be impressive ? Calling his runs OEM is a bit pointless right ? The judges don't wanna see anything else but that, throwing a backy or reverse won't give you any bonus points but take away from you because they aren't consistently used or can easily be followed in a chase, so there is no real extra driving style he can add to it. He has big angle, high speed, even does the iconic 3 wheel Mustang drift and is riding on the edge of the line and walls of the track constantly, what else are you asking for ?

      It was bakchis fault he initiated way to late on the first race. You can see the red lights lighting up that he was decelerating in the first zone before initiation. Now 2nd race was his fault also. He pushed adam so much adam couldnt initiate his turn correctly and made him go off course. You can see the bollard almost get hit right after the 2 hits by bakchi and then adam turn for his transition, but couldnt complete it because he was way off line because of the 2 hits. They should of just done a omt. But there always against adam. Look at 2:35:48 and look at the Ballard adam almost hit because of bakchis 2 hits

    • @hugo-pg5tv
      @hugo-pg5tv หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      U need to open ur eyes then. James lead was infinitly better than Odi. James had more angle, hit the innerclips and filled the outer zones unlike Odi. Odi didn't fill a single outerzone and he was nowhere near the inneclips. Both had bad chases but James had a way worse lead driver to follow. He only followed Odi which is what he should do. A chase can only be as great as the lead infront and Odi did a worse chase even when the lead driver did a perfect run.

    • @GB2G
      @GB2G หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      James won the lead to lead comparison.
      In the chases, Odi’s chase was far from perfect but better than James chase everywhere except the last outside zone. James had a better outside zone 3 chase than Odi.
      So James had a better lead everywhere, and better chase in last outside zone. Odi had better chase everywhere except last zone. So if you add it up; it goes to James Deane. But it was close. I wouldn’t be mad at a OMT.
