I am so pleased you (unlike the majority) know the difference between shepherds and cottage pie.
    Love your recipes.

Seriously? Nobody cares. It's the same cooking method. You could use any minced meat for God's sake .

Hello whilst we are talking about ease, I add a can of vegetable soup and a stock cube to the fried onion and mince, makes a lovely richness, to the dish x have a lovely week end.

Yummy! :) For U.S. viewers "corn flour" = "corn starch". And, yes, Quorn mince is a great meatless substitute. I've used it for tacos, and chili, sloppy joes, lasagne, etc and you can hardly tell the difference from actual meat.

Beautiful Cheryl, lamb mince is a favourite of mine, that’s why I’m a big fan of Shepherds Pie.
Using a meat alternative I am afraid Quorn does not do it for me so I have made with vegetables, though recently I used lentils & barley (you get that chewiness that comes with mince). Incidentally, just a wee bit of useful news, no meat shepherd’s pie is called Shepherdesses Pie.
    Bit of a mouthful.
Loving your channel, your chats & the wonderful food to tease many of us - it’s really good to sit, relax & watch you put together what looks like pure joy.
Take care Cheryl, & thank you.

I am glad you included a substitute to lamb. It's been about a decade since I last found any form of lamb in the local stores, here in Missouri USA. Maybe elsewhere in Missouri, but not where I live.

Garlic and rosemary are the lamb essentials, try a whole red chilli cooked with the meat. Take it out before putting the mash on top.

My favorite part was when you said that if we use beef mince, it would be a cottage pie! A lot of people here in the US don't know the difference!

I’d try that tomorrow except my accident prone hubby managed to melt the flex on the gas hob! I use the frozen mash, usually own brand and add salt, pepper and butter. Very convenient

It looks absolutely delicious Cheryl 😋, I’ve never thought of adding mint sauce into it before. I had a case of lazyitis today & couldn’t be bothered cooking so just had some sandwiches for tea, now you’ve made me feel starving!🤤😂🤣 Thanks for sharing as always & take care.xx👩🏻‍🍳💕💞🩷
