Thanks for posting this video. My heater does not come on or give any error code, so I decided to go through the checks. I found the fan switch hose had broken off the connection by the fan and the capacitor was severely rusted. I reconnected the hose, but there is little to no air being blown. I have ordered a new capacitor and will report back soon. Appreciate you posting how to remove top and sides etc.
Your video is still helping folks. The voltage to the molex connector was good. So I vaccumed out the rust from the blower and it kicked in almost immediately. The five year old granddaughter’s birthday will proceed as planned.
This fixed my eo4 error code. The part at my local electric shop cost $3. It was a titan pro 370 run capacitor. Just take the old one off and have it tested when you go to replace the part. Entire process took an hour. Great video!
You saved me $600. Blower $400 and $200 quoted to put it in...what a joke. My heater would heat to 90 degrees then shut off with e04 error code. I replaced the run cap as you suggested and it’s back working for $10 cap on eBay. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Great video. I kept gettin the error 4. I saw how easy you took everything apart. Found out that rats have entered the heater housing and decided to eat up the rubber tubing and I noticed wires to capacitor were chewed. I changed out the tubing with some rubber tubing found at Home depot and I got a new capacitor. Put all together. BAM!! Heating again!!!
Woo-Hoo, fixed my heater with the new capacitor. (Although I changed the igniter $140.00, and the thermister, $10.00 first which didn't solve the problem.) So all fixed for $160.00 in parts. Thank you!
Hello everybody! Thanks for watching my video! I have had a few people ask for the information on the capacitor. Well here it is. Click this link and get your capacitor amzn.to/2G7sMgO. Well good luck on your repair and be careful and safe when handling electrical devices. Be sure power is off and always use safety equipment always.
Was it blowing cold air? Mine is showing same code but is running while blowing cold air. Its not igniting. Could the capacitor affect the igniting? Prior to this I had Just changed out the igniter because I had an eo5 code. It fixed the issue but now have the e04 code Any suggestions would be appreciated
Mine is exactly the same heater, with the only difference being that it as dials instead of a digital readout, so I do not get an error message. Mine will turn on, the blower will start and run for one minute and then stop. All my lights are green, but the heater does not even attempt to start. Can you tell me what the E04 code means?
I have the same unit. I'm wondering why the vent on the top of the heater allows rain to pour in? Where does the water go? It seems like the water would get into the unit and cause unwanted corrosion of components.
I use a cover for that exact reason. That and I suspect the rain fried my DDTC board one time. It's just a good idea to keep it covered while not in use.
Please can you give me the specifications of the capacitor to buy one. I have the exactly same heather but the capacitor is all corroded can not see any numbers

Got a buzzing sound when the blower tried to start. Replacing the capacitor fixed the problem. I used www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0015G3L2M, but I think any oval 5uf 370 VAC capacitor will work.

Thanks for the video! Was the blower working at all before you replaced the capacitor?
I changed my capacitor and it worked early this spring, when I replaced it, now I'm getting the EO4 message. Could it be the capacitor, again?
This worked! Thank you from Seattle!
Dude!!! Thank you so much! I replaced my capacitor, saved me tons of money and this particular error code matched up with my issue.
Thank you!!!
