Ooh! I've read IT, the physical book, at least twice all the way through (yes, it is quite the undertaking and there's this giant sigh of relief when the last page is reached), and I've listened to the audio book at least twice (all 40+ hours of it). The book is very episodic. It follows the lives of 7 kids, the bullies who taunt them, and the monster who is stalking the city. They face it when they're 11 or 12 years old, and think they might have destroyed it, but vow to return when they are older in case it's really not dead. Well, they have to come back 28 years later when they're all close to 40 and try to get back into the frame of mind of a child so they can fight it again. Some of the scenes are really out there, but the characters are SOOO incredibly memorable! Please don't give up on it after the first few chapters, even though the first chapter is a bit shocking if you're not used to the way that Stephen King writes. I beg of you to keep reading!! Although, I would warn you that the deaths of Eddie Corcoran and Patrick Hochstetter in particular are very disturbing and sad. I want other people to enjoy the character journeys like I have! Just be aware, the book touches on spousal abuse, child abuse, racism, murder, mutilation, and can be very graphic in description.
I'm planning on reading You by Caroline Kepnes around Halloween! I've heard it's super creepy so I'm super excited to pick it up 😊 It sounds TERRIFYING!! I wish you luck!
Labyrinth Lost sounds so cool.. I've never been that interested on picking up Everything Everything, but you make it sound cool and I should pick it up soon before the movie comes out. great haul!
OMG, Zoe " The girl on the train", you're going to love it. It's mystery for start to finish, it just keeps you going, you can't put it down. So exicted for your review, hope it's up soon. Love your videos.
Hey Zoe! I've watched quite a few videos of yours for the past week or so and I can say you've inspired me to start reading again :) I went out and bought 6 of your book recommendations and I don't regret it one bit! Thank you :) XX
I didn't realize how much I missed your videos and quirky sense of humor. So glad your back! Also, I bought "The Halloween Tree" by Ray Bradbury and I'm super excited to read it. It's about a group of kids that travel through time and space to find and rescue their friend and they learn what Halloween is all about along the way. And good luck with the big "It". I laughed so hard when you said you were scared of clowns lol.
I jumped for joy when I saw you holding IT, I'm actually getting this chunky paperback edition as were speaking. Amazing story, I had to reread the first chapters after I finished as I was missing it all ready.
Hello Zoe, I just wanted to say that I love your videos and your hair is goals and you remind me of an older version of myself (a weirdo addicted to books). Also your channel makes me laugh everyday. You are awesome.
Hah! I started reading the Labyrinth Lost yesterday and I'm liking it so far :) Also, after you showed A Monster Calls, I had to rewatch the trailer, and it makes me tear up every time..
When I was little, the pictures in The Witches gave me nightmares! And then I decided to watch the movie, and I couldn't even fall asleep! But, I really do love that book!
I watch this video and then went to my local Barnes & Noble and they were playing Disney music in mine too! of course I started singing along while I shopped lol
glad your back in the game :-) I'm planning on reading the Northanger Abbey as part of your book club. i would also like to read Miss Peregrims books :-) if i think about it i should try some r. l. Stine's book, i seen the movies and they were my kind of scary :-)
I am currently reading The Assassin's Blade by SJM. The prequel novellas of ToG. I finished the first two and thought I should get to this as soon as possible. I am not a seasonal reader, I just read whatever I'm in the mood for. So currently there isn't any creepy books for me
haha I read It on January! didn't freak me out and I was so angry because of that😤 but apparently every other person on earth got scared with that book! I'm looking forward to your opinion about it. oh and welcome back!
I'm reading the harry potter series for the first time and I'm loving it so far! I'm on book three :) great selection of books. and matilda was my favorite too! makes me want to read it as well lol
Do I see More Happy Than Not on your shelf? I literally just finished that book and loved it. Have you previously mentioned it before because I would love to hear your opinion on it.
I'm currently reading the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charline Harris because it is coming up to Halloween and you can't beat a bit of vampires and other magical creatures this time of year. :)
Hey Zoe I know you are a huge Jane Austin fan and so I thought of you first for advice... I just got my book list for my ISU in English class and both pride & prejudice and sense & sensibility are on the list. I was wondering if you thought it a good idea to use either of these to study and pull apart or should I choose something different and read these only for pleasure? Thxx
I have It on my list!! It does look intimidating but the beginning pages i read once were quick to get into and really good. I was wondering with your 5 years of studying Spanish if you're bilingual? Also do you read books written in Spanish? I am and do and I have a rule where I alternate reading books in English and Spanish 😊 but I'm a mood reader so that doesn't work out sometimes lol
I'm going to be reading Stephen king books as well(: my dad owns almost all of his books and has read them but I havent read them so that's the creppy books I'm planning on reading
I just bought "The Girl on the Train" too. I'm so excited to read it! It's most likely the scariest book I will be reading during the Halloween season. 😂
YES!!!, you need to read It, it's really good, it took me 3 months to read but i read the last 600 pag in a week, its slow sometimes but is hell creepy, dont worry, the clown doesnt appear that many times, for me is the best book that i read from him, i hope you enjoy it
I love the movie adaptation of It so I tried to listen to the audiobook of it. It was forty-four hours long and I made like three hours in before I stopped. It's just too long but I do want to read it someday.
Can you guys tell me where to start with Cassandra Clare's books? 😂 There are soo many books by her and I have no clue which one to read first . Apparently there are two series happening in the Shadowhunters' world and the books of these series were published at the time, or I mean that one series was not finished before the other series came out. Or am I totally clueless haha?
Aryanna First read the first 3 of the Mortal instruments, so City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass. After you have read those, start reading the Infernal devices, Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Princess. You can either alternate between the mortal instruments and the infernal devices, so you wold read them in this order: City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, Clockwork Angel, City of Fallen Angels, Clockwork Prince, City of lost Souls and finally City of Heavenly fire. Or you can read the whole of the Infernal devices after City of Glass, then carry on reading the mortal instruments. After you have read all of the Mortal Instruments and the Infernal Devices, you read the Shadowhunter academy, and then the Dark Artifices!! I hope that helped!! Even though it is sooo long 😁
Aryanna You're welcome!! You have a lot to read, but once you get into it you won't even notice how fast the time goes by - because all of Cassandra's books are amazing!! Enjoy 😊
I actually think I want to pick up It now - I'm terrified of clowns too but you inspired me to quit being a wimp and step out of my comfort zone XD Love your videos! and I'm so happy you're back!
I have read IT and its a good scary book for October. I will be reading The Name of the Star and Creep which are both more thriller than horror I love horror but I just chose thriller for Spookathon
Zoe, your mom & dad read the cursed child...wow that statement puts a whole new spin on your family; their background, and their influence on you...Witch's looks good, and It should be a fun read...the creepiest book I am reading is an annotated Frankenstein...its creepy cause of all the symbolic levels to it. love your videos... i did read Jane Austen!
For whatever reason I really really hate new books. I can never buy anything from B & N unless there's a book that just came out and I really want to read it. Otherwise I get all my books from half price, local used book stores, or from my library's withdrawn book store.
Northanger Abbey was the creepiest Thing I reads this month I think :D But I am thinking about picking up 'misery' by Stephen King and reading it tonight. So happy to have you back
Zoe Zoe Zoe! I don't know why I'm typing this! I'm just so happy you're back!
I'm so happy to be back!!

One thing only book nerds will understand; "Ya know, I don't even need this book, but the cover is pretty....I will read it eventually...I hope..."😂
