I love the magic system in DCC, how does a wizard do other things other then spells and combat? Like making potions, enchanting an item, deciphering texts, to other wizardly things that have a chance to fail?
It's a great question that the book doesn't specifically address. Like D&D if a wizard wants to do an enchantment or potion, the player would have to work with the gamemaster/judge to tell the story of how it is done.
@@davesmaginations5222 Ya, sometimes I just don't know if I have the energy to add the stuff I want. I keep running into that where the systems I want to use don't seem complete or have too much stuff in them. I want to get into DCC, but I feel really disappointed right now.
@@messenger3478 I have run into this issue. In my D&D game I used a 3rd party resource, in my case it was for Herbalism. You might check out this video: th-cam.com/video/Wv7aE8GfRR0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hR9tAVyBHoYsnyAt
Page 106 of the 8th printing of the DCC rulebook under 'Spell Checks' says "When your character casts a spell, you roll 1d20 and add your caster level, and apply your luck modifier."
Lucky number 8 thumbs up!
Just finished our first funnel and I am going for a Wizard, this video was an awesome resource and inspiration for getting my character ready!
Glad it helped!

Also... a honest review of DCC is that it is really good at conventions or one-shots but not quite as good for campaigns.
a simple roll probably
I see that you say Wizards add Int bonus plus Level plus Luck. Where is the Luck component come from, as i only see that in your videos.

Also, in the first chapter when it talks about character creation there's a section on how to establish your luck trait. Hope this helps. 🙂

Aha! I have 8th and 11th!
I was reading 11th when I asked that.
Thanks!
Wow they’re up to an 11th printing
@@davesmaginations5222 8th agrees with you, 11 does not.
