hi! at 6:15 you're mentioning the luck modifier as part of a spell check. i was baffled. what version of the rules is this? it's not in the german translation and not in the Goodman Games 8th printing that i both just checked. perculiar.

I played DCC for the first time last week and rolled up a warrior. The dice gods were with me and I rolled incredibly well for all of my stats. I got a I got 17 luck right out of the gate lol I've played 2nd Edition, 3rd, 3.5, Pathfinder, 5th and CoC. So picking up DCC was easy. My DM asked what style I like to play and I said I want to be right in the thick of it. First game, I braced my Battle-axe against two Orcs and rolled a 4 on the Deed Die and rushed them both into a fire. I grabbed our Dwarf who was being overwhelmed by enemies and threw him outside of the room into the hallway out of danger I got a crit on a skeleton and rolled a 14 on the crit die, and when we rerolled initiative for the next round I went 2nd and crit with a throwing axe across the room at a second skeleton who was harassing our rogue and cleric Anyway, I've been invited back.

DCC has a great style. Sadly I am not a fan of the race as class thing. But I will mine the system and adventures for ideas in the future :)

How hard would this be to play with Shadowdark rules instead of 5e?

I see that you say Wizards add Int bonus plus Level plus Luck. Where is the Luck component come from, as i only see that in your videos.

I've seen flipbooks like this before, but not rpg related. It also reminds me of a toy I had called Changeable Charlie. I think it was from the 60s. There were several wooden blocks with face/head parts on them, and you could arrange them to make all sorts of different faces. This looks like a lot more fun than old Charlie tho. But maybe I'm just older.

I love the way you handled the death save, almost akin to a roll under system! What I've been doing is giving characters a DC 18 + Luck modifier to survive, and you can burn the difference in luck if needed (not enough luck to burn? Dead 😆) They still get the permanent -1 to Str, Agi, or Sta upon success.

While you were going through the results, I was mentally converting them to my Post-Apocalytpic-ish / Cyberpunkish themed game. The 'Ruined Demi-plane of the Leopard-Keeper' in my world the Leopard-Keeper would be a Grid Whisper (hacker) with an affinity for White Snow Leopards, represented by his Leopard Avatar on the Grid(demi-plane). The hacker normally spends their days on the Grid doing business, but is out of work due to their equipment being stolen (hence, ruined demi-plane) - regardless he wants to return to fighting his ancestral enemy on the Grid, Rogue AI and Corporate Goons (or his reputation as a solid hacker is at risk). They're interested in having the players approach or attack a well known local gang run by a notorious Gambling Addict Bloth who's rumored to have stolen the hacker's gear to pay off gang debts. Bloth and his ilk can be found in Bone Widow, a small barter town constructed near a boneyard of alien behemoth creature remains that are mined for minerals and as luxury items. (Maybe like Ivory?) It's up to the GM, or Oracle Table, whether or not Bloth's gang has the gear or a Clue to who bought them, leading either to the retrieval of the gear or the next leg in the mission. If completed, the hacker owes the players a couple 'favors' (bonuses to saving throws under certain conditions, like opening locked doors, vaults, weapon caches, or safes.) Good review of the systems!

Copper9d6 This is a homebrew level 15 D&D adventure being played on the Foundry Virtual Tabletop.

I personally don't mind race-as-class but I do wish there was more built in features to a race to allow them to lean into certain stat allocations without being effectively a "dead character". there's nothing that kills my hype more than the dice dictating I play a high INT dwarf with no real payoff for it.

Yes a catcher of some sort would be helpful as it shoots out the dice!

What happens when I roll a 1 for hp, but my stamina modifier is -1? Minimum of 1 Hp?

I don’t know much about this game, but are there any time limits to deciding? It feels like as long as it took to decide what to do about getting in front of that group, they’d already be past there. Plus they’d probably get there before those trenches are dug? Sorry if I just don’t understand some dynamics of the game.

And you just helped me to decide my first Gauntlet adventure for Shadowdark. I played Dragon's Lair for HOURS (beat it twice) and still to this day is one of my fondest memories as a kid. Now I have a reason to revisit it. Brilliant idea!

Almost finished the upgraded model of this £43. I have a tremor but this is such a cool looking scorpion I just had to try it, and even with a tremor I managed this build easily. There is a thought process to building it but nothing a 14 year old should not be able to figure out. Excellent I have mine in a display cabinet, next it the xl mantis in green. £119.00

There's one God, the God who created the Dwarves, that allows Lawful Dwarves to be Clerics of his. It's in the DCC RPG Annual Vol. 1. A Judge can do what he wants, but I want my players to have consistency. Just trying to help you bro

If you use Race/Class combinations? You should try using the Multiclass Rules in place of that. The two exceptions are that an Elf can't purchase Wizard abilities because he already has them. A Dwarf can't purchase Warrior abilities with his XP because he already has them. Check out Julio's Grove for the details & Multiclass Character sheets

I like DA but remember we are not playing video games, we are hopefully playing an RPG with a group of real people...

Does the Thief still use his strength modifier on his weapon attach or does it matter which weapon he uses? Is there any circumstance when the their attack / damage is based on agility??
