xX_mlg531gamer_Xx true :(
Lol
You failed you didn't shake or break the sticks
Can you give a link where i can get a cool brother?
You can find some good deals on eBay, that's were I got mine. The only down side I found was he had scratches and was poorly packaged
patrick houghton
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jay Jenkins don't buy that one. it has an adpater for 220v attached which is not made for the USA outlets. It also has non uniform leds. they are all different leds as well. best buy amazons.
+Brandon HCD same my bro stole money and V games from me
+Jay Jenkins he asked for a brother not a stripper...
Nice results from your project. I like the fact you get a full perimeter color effect through
the acrylic with only one side of it being lit. The use of the remaining strip on the underside is an awesome effect as well and good use of the material.
So thats who youre always contesting against to be the coolest uncle. Makes sense
ahhhh I see
That is an awesome idea for a man cave, or home theatre movie poster case. Thanks mark!!!
Its amazing how introductions of videos has evolved over the last decade
ikr
Step 1 - Have an older brother named Bryan
...well I failed at step 1, can't complete task....
I've got a Jeff
I am a Jeff
You are Jeff
We are Jeff

Mark saying “Sup ya’ll” at the start of the video is kind of funny in 2020 :)

Awww... Had me up until step 1, I'm the oldest :(

This is awesome. Thank you so much for the tutorial/explanation. Gonna try and make a desk like this for my computer.
Really cool, considering on trying this out! With regards to durability, any concerns with wear and tear scratching up the surface, and the light causing it to be really noticeable?
thank you! trying to replace an old el panel in a caller id with led back light and plexy. was going to manually score it to distribute light but the sand blaster is the way to go!
Starting up my own woodshop. Got paid to make a couple of D&D tables. Might need to incorporate this somehow. Awesome video!

I'm literally here from Google for help with my edge-lit DIY art project and THE SHOCK when I saw it was an early Mark Rober vid, thanks for still being awesome!
Lol
Earned yerself a sub. Going to look into using this for my next computer build. Foldable table legs, Your etched acrylic tabletop, And an water cooled PC inside. One helluva Battlestation. Might even make something similar for my living room, Non foldable legs and sealed up with silicone with the Air inlet and outlet for cooling being directly underneath with edges against any spilled liquid so a good movie night with a lil bit of drinks doesnt end too expensive.
Cheers for the ideas :D
It should work fine regardless of where the decal/logo is put. The key here is that the light totally internally reflects throughout the panel unless it hits a diffuse surface (some part you roughed up, that diffracts the light that was normally bouncing or reflecting through the pane of acrylic).
Very Creative.......as Usual! Thanks Mark for the Great idea's
on those LED strips, you can cut them along the line, between the LEDS, use a cable to run power to the next LED strip. Did the same thing on my battle station and under the cabinets in the kitchen.
Thanks for this idea and tutorial I'm going to make it and use it as a gaming desk I think it'll work perfectly and it super cheap which is a plus
A little different but it turns out IKEA sells glass table tops. If you take one of those (Glasholm, 3/8 inch thick tempered glass - only about $30) you can take aluminum channel section which has a roughly 3/8 inch gap in it and put a strip of LEDs in that. It just goes right on with a press fit. The edges are already ground, as is the underside. Rather than having a logo on the desk you have a kind of gradient effect from the back to the front as the light scatters. No edge sanding, or etching needed. I made my computer desk this way and it was featured on lifehackers a couple of years ago.
U pretty cool sharin that w us😉thx 4the tip cool guy
+Philip Ball can we get a link to the lifehacker article of your desk? thanks!
He was wayyyyy ahead of this trend
So where's the "How-To" part?
+DJ KaNeck How-To get your brother to do it for you ?
This really helped me make my entertainment center. thank you
totally going to get these and put them around my shelf and desk
this gave me an idea, to combine with those fancy in desk PCs
Cool light box yo, i'll be making one for my work shop.
definitely subbing... question since u need other led adaptors for each table im supposed to get additional remotes too or will all work on same frequency as the first adaptor?
I love your use of old video games in your videos
Hey Mark, I love your videos! I'm a mechanical designer from NY and I'm really into machining and 3d printing. You channel is awesome. Next time your in NY. Give me a call.
I do realize it is the last day of the month. Knowing what home teaching is has made sure of that. I have had the feeling since the first video I watched of yours (and Arturos) that you know what HTing is too. Anyways, love your videos man. I don't know if it's because of the rarity, but I'm always way e
He's a cool guy, doesn't afraid of anything BROFIST
Is there an instructional video on how your brother built it because I don't have a cool older or younger brother for that matter.
I always forget i'm subscribed to you. I'm no complaining though! It's awesome when one of your videos shows up! Always a great surprise!
Awesome idea. How did you make the 90 degree turns with the lights on the outside of the table? Aka how did you make a rectangle of LED's?
You can also burn the edges of the plexi-glass with a hand propane torch lightly and edges get super shiny almost a mirror shine so the colored light effect looks really expensive and its easy to do instead of sandpaper.
so simple, yet so cool!
This is an awesome project, you could easily sell these. I'm subscribed.
What size is the acrylic sheet for the table and how much did it cost
I know it's been 5 years but if your table is 7 feet long and 2 feet wide then it's 7feet long and 2feet wide
I also have a bunk bed with LEDs on it :)
that is amazing! it's really cool.
This is so awesome!!
Amazing. Subscribed.
thanks for the link to the led's =)
Ohh I am excited about the lighting strip.. I am planning making a sign for my college room. Love the ideas.. Thanks for taking the time to share. ((:
How's life bro
I edge lit my frosted glass computer desk a year ago :)
Were did you get the plexy glass!?
this is awesome im going to take this concept and apply it to building a coffin for my turntables... this should be interesting... thanks for the idea
Awesome video. If you were to put the decal in the middle would it still work?
You should post more often I like your videos
This video just got you a subscriber! I'm will totally do some junk like this.
Although i am broke it's really cool to see this stuff.
Definitely gonna adapt this to be a beer pong table.
Like always, you rock \m/ this would make a sweet gaming table.
This man is a genius
Those LED strips are also available in Costco at the moment! They're pretty cheap too.
great job, I'm gunna make a coffee table like this.
how deep was the engraving??? I urgently need some feedback and help on this... Great vid by the way!
Very nice, like it
I see you added some new prosthetics for digitaldudz....I really like the Zipper one!!! Good look with digitaldudz, I wouldn't be surprised if it was in every halloween store next year. It is such a great idea, and the iWound worked out great for me this year! Best of luck!
Is the app still up?
Thank you friend. Most useful.
SWEET "HOW TO" VIDEO (and love the mike tyson punchout, on nes, clips).

#17 of the binge
THIS IS AWESOME
You sir are AWESOME.
This is ridiculously cool.
Were did you get the shirt with the moving eyes? awesome!
This is great! Thanks
This videos was uploaded on my birthday
What a great picture to end it with what would he think if he saw everything we’ve made out of his findings
Do you think it's possible to make the glass to something display like? So that you can digital decide what the glass show?
dude this is great. where can I get that size plexi glass,
this guys come a loooong way
I hqvent got a Bryan. Ive only got a jonny
...Way excited to see your posts
Omg the intro is so cute!
Hello Mark. I have a couple of questions
1. When you guys did the underside of the table with the extra led strips, did yoiu have to cut and solder them or did you just twist and loop them at the edges / corners. I cant really see the corners in the pic.
2. What grit sand paper did you to ruff up the edges of the acrylic sheets?
Thanks.
Please let me know.
Yo.... DJ Khalid said “another one” more content dude
ITS LIT
you should do a HOW TO HAND SANDBLAST ETCH. I was very curious how you did it for the edge lit table?
well done!!!
Awesome i could use this with my dj setup
I don’t like the specular type lighting of exposed led strips. I want to find either a filament LED or led strips with a diffuser overlay or a super bright strip of electroluminescent material with a phosphorescent color gel on top. Ideas?
So if I frost the edge of a glass table, will it have the same effect as the ruff edges on the acrylic?
So insta d of going to Amazon to get the lights! Go on Geek, it's on the App Store and play store. You can get the lights anywhere between £1-£15 i have bought two and well worth it!
if I ever do this, I'm just gonna put the strip on the other side of the table.
cuz of ocd.
Mark...you had me from your first video.. I am really loving your channel...being 59, I am probably one of your oldest fans.buy hey!!! my grown kids think I am fantastic and can't believe the ideas that "I" come up with...sorry, but moms like to stay cool even when the kids are grown...can't wait to show them what "I" came up with next... :0) take care Mark...love to you & your family...always, vera
Subscribed, top stuff
Is tht game on nintendo or sega? Man tht game brings back memories if only i remembered what system it plays on lol gotta love tht music lol
Should you leave the edge that the lights hit the plate at smooth? Or should you sand all the edges?
good work
This is awesome haha
What thickness of plexi glass did you use. And where did you get a piece that thick?
You sir have gained a sub :)
