    Why can't we see what is being shared in the organizer view? How can we tell we are sharing the correct content? This is a major issue compared to Live Events where you knew / controlled better what content was being shared.

    From producer point of view I see this as a strong donwgrade sadly. I can no longer preview the next content I want to share before I do it. I cannot adjust visual layout for the presenters ( Share screen to webcam ratio/style) only presenters can. When presenter starts sharing their screen they automaticaly kick out the current presenter and also presenters can stop recording of the whole meeting. Thats a whole lot of things that can go wrong. Hope the Townhall gets upgraded soon. Still thanks for the video.

      Thanks for the feedback and I feel your pain and agree there are definitely improvements that I hope to see come into the product, although I have been really excited to see the latest features added. I'm looking forward to seeing more features coming into Townhall as Live Events are withdrawn. If you want to add your comments to this blog, I'm sure the team would appreciate your feedback techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams-blog/introducing-town-halls-in-microsoft-teams-and-retiring-microsoft/ba-p/3925739

    Solutions to problems that didn’t exist, should have just created this separately not to replace live events.

    I wish they had a "clear all presenters from the screen" option. When I have 4 people on screen for a panel, i have to take them off one at a time and then bring on the next presenter. Would be just a tad bit cleaner if I could remove all presenters "clear the screen" at once.

    Another feature that would be a life saver was the possibility of having a registration form, like in webinars. This way we could know in advance who intends to participate in the event! The webinar registration form works perfectly.

    The polls don't appear for audience. The recording doesn't capture co-organiser camera and content. Presenters can't see what they are presenting. You can't cue up the next presenter. You can't switch without having to individually bring people on / off which is time consuming and looks really amateur. Overall we are not enjoying the Town Hall experience - it seems limited and designed by people who have never run an event 🤷‍♀ We are only using it because the NDI broadcast capability has been removed from Teams Live... as you push us to move to the 'new' teams experience and charge us for 'premium' licences for the replacement Town Hall. And still offer something (at additional cost, did I mention that?) that has less functionality than the 'classic' Teams Live it is replacing

    With live event, we had the option to record the meeting and the recording would only be accessible to the producers (if we selected that option). Now we only have one option to record and we're required to share that recording with all the attendees...

    • @MicrosoftTeamsIn20
      @MicrosoftTeamsIn20  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you end the event the recording will be available in the recording section and you can decide to download and share with who you would like from your One Drive or quickly publish out to all those who registered.
      The producers who can access the 'chat' for the meeting invite can also access the recording via the chat tab as you would in an normal Teams meeting.

    In the Live events speakers could share their screen without it being automatically available to all participants. Only when we push it to Live this screen was available. Not here. As soon as someone share the screen, it appears in the live window..... this is very frustrating!!! Another question. Do participants need to have a Teams account to attend the event? Or can anyone participate as long as they have the access link liv«ke in live events? (in the case of a public event)

    • @MicrosoftTeamsIn20
      @MicrosoftTeamsIn20  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the event is set to public the attendee does not need to have a Teams account

    I did Teams Town Hall once. By default, under Meeting Options, the "People dialing in can bypass the lobby" is turned off, so I just let it be. But when we started the session, we didnt have to admit any of the participants. I'm going to hold another session soon, wondering if I should just let this option to be turned on or off. I dont need to admit the participants, so by right I should turn it on. But from my previous experience, I'm scared that if I turned it on, something else will happen.

    Any news on NDI in new Teams? This will solve my problem of getting presenters on and off the 'stage'. Also why is the stage blank when I am sharing my screen, and why does the window shrink when I share my screen when I still need this window to manage who is on the 'stage'?

    • @MicrosoftTeamsIn20
      @MicrosoftTeamsIn20  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agree the shrink makes no sense! I haven't seen any updates NDI only RTMP for internet streaming. Teams 'Premium' now includes eCDN or you can plug in a partner eCDN solution. This is a great place to share feedback techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/ct-p/MicrosoftTeams

    It looks like the poll is only for the presenters and organizers? It did not pop up on the attendee view. Is that correct?

    • @MicrosoftTeamsIn20

      It shows for everyone, attendees and organisers/presenters t's not clear in the video as I had split the screen 😃

    Having used it, it just seems unfinished. Any idea how to swap presenters in one step? (Instead of remove, then add)

    • @rcoveyduc
      @rcoveyduc 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Am I understanding your comment that, despite removing the clunky Live Event interface you still need a producer to push presenters into the primary pane? The result being that it's not as friendly as a webinar or conventional meeting where all presenters would be visible to an attendee at one time.

    • @MicrosoftTeamsIn20
      @MicrosoftTeamsIn20  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rcoveyduc For Townhalls you do need to push presenters into the live screen in the same way as you do for Live Events currently. It's a broadcast experience rather than a meeting experience.

    • @MicrosoftTeamsIn20
      @MicrosoftTeamsIn20  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There will be more features added to Townhalls as we get ready to retire Live Events in 2024, currently you still swap presenters the same way you would in Live Events.

    Is there a way to send a separate invite to the attendees? so that the presenters can rehearse before the meeting actually starts. For example, I'd like to send an invite to the presenters at 12:30 for a meeting that starts at 13:00 so they rehearse before the attendees join at 13:00. Please let me know ASAP - THANKS

    • @taraevans1108
      @taraevans1108 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As long as you have Green Room turned on, you can ask (send a separate invite) presenters to dial in early to do that stuff. People won't see or hear anything until you officially start the meeting

    Another half-finished MS feature. Looks impressive but the user experience is terrible.
