A book budget is definitely something I need to do as well. I went kind of crazy last year and somewhat regretted it. Also really want to use my library more as well. 📖📝✍️
Happy New Year Shae! This past year was the year I tried to find Manga that worked for me, and thanks to recs and enthusiasm from Ashley and yourself, it worked! So thank you, thank you, thank you!! The Manga I’ve found delights me, and that’s no small thing these days ❤
I also told myself no more binge buying series in 2024 either because Skip Beat and Tsubaki-chou Lonely Planet were the two I wanted to catch up collecting and I met that goal right before 2023 ended! Now its time for me to read them! LOL! ✍✍✍
My goal this year is to finish collecting 5 manga series I own. I have a habit of starting a series but not finishing it. So I made a list of those that I already own and try to collect the remaining volumes.
I liked tha idea of having a budget to buy instead of a limited number of books that you can buy, I'm going to use that one for this year and see how it goes
I travelled for work for most of a decade (and ran out of room anyhow) so I switched to digital and only occassionally get physical books :) I have ones that I keep and a lot of hardcovers, now I'm downsizing again with my read and decide list to see if I am keeping or removing. Bye Bye Kinley McGregor Brotherhood books, I am sad she never finished your series, but I can easily get you from the library :)

Nice goals! Certainly trying to do the read what you own as well myself. Currently my goal is to purchase under 5 books a month. I'm trying to decide if I want to actually do that for books and manga combined, but that might be really pushing it. So currently its under 5 for books only. I may also do under 5 volumes for manga a month... decisions decisions. My manga goal is to get this TBR down to under 15 a month only. I have 75 volumes unread, and that's just way too high.
I'm not a book buying ban for 2024. My phsical TBR is over 500 books. 😬 I def went overboard on the library book sale bag days these past few years. LOL. 🗒
