When my grandmother was 102 and towards the end of her time often unconscious and not responsive, I wafted Goutal’s Petite Cherie directly under her nose and a definite almost childlike smile of pleasure lit her face, despite closed eyes and no other sign of awareness. Beautiful memory and shows the power of scent.

In my 30s, I wore Chanel No. 5, Shalimar, and Annik Goutal (cannot recall the scent). I had to stop wearing Chanel No. 5 because I got headaches from it. Also, in the U.S., I find that most people I am around do not appreciate perfume, as many also get headaches. I wonder if you know of any popular perfumes that are more natural in content. Thank you for the wonderful video! I suggest you write the names of the perfumes because the bottles are not shown long enough to catch all the names. 💝

My favorite perfumes are the early classics from Guerlain; not so much the newer ones. Rive Gauche was one of my first loves and I still wear it, as well as the earlier YSL perfumes. I do not care for Chanel No.5, but love No.19 Poudre, Bel Respiro and Misia. My favorite Diors are the vintage Miss Dior Cherie and the original Poison. I love practically everything from Hermes, especially the "Jardin" series.

Oh, this is great. I forgot about Annick Goutal -- I have a bottle of Folie d'un Soir somewhere that I now want to get out again. My favorite Guerlain overall is Mitsouko, likely because it has Chypre and I love Chypre. I love Chanel No. 5 and not so much Coco Mademoiselle, for some reason. I love all your suggestions of perfumes. I had / have most of them. Lately I decided to add all the must have all time classics in my collection. Guerlain Shalimar I hated in my 20's but now I really love it. Same person - same nose but different mood I guess. I choose a perfume according to everyday's mood. This is why I think it is important to have perfumes from all categories....

I agree about Shalimar and will give it another try since I am older. I know this happened to me with Chanel #5. I never thought I would own a bottle, but now that I am "mature" it has a different sort of appeal. I do think you have to have a certain maturity to wear it, and perhaps this is true with Shalimar as well.

Bonjour! I discovered way back this fantastic vintage perfume "Tabac Blonde". I understand it is still produced and available to purchase. Absolutely lovely and sophisticated but quite unusual especially for modern taste. I was told that this one is super insider parisian perfume since it was introduced in 1920ies as the first perfume for smoking women. I'm in the process of choosing all the names of your perfumes. Look in the transcript, but the spelling is often wrong. There are TH-camrs who correct their transcripts, for example Justine Laconte, which helps a lot when you're looking up brand names, but also when you're speaking a foreign language and don't understand every single word spoken. Could be an idea for you! Sincerely. Will test perfumes in the next few days! Best regards ... 💙💜❤

    • @JRagaz

@@NoBadEnergy1 TH-cam automatically generates a transcript for each video. Below the video on the right there are three horizontal dots. Click it, then appears "Transcript", click that and you will see the spoken text writen on the right side of the screen. If someone has native English and clear pronunciation and needs common words, it's quite good. Otherwise there are funny translations. Since I don't speak English very well, I sometimes look up words in the transcript, a general word or a fashion brand, etc. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not. There are TH-camrs who correct their transcripts, which of course amasing.

When you put perfume, please stay discreet and don't shower in it. Some of us are very allergic and can get very sick, as all these perfumes, yes, even the expensive and couture ones, are 100% synthetic, even toxic. French companies offer natural perfumes made with real plant extracts, almost impossible to find in the US alas, and those are much better. I have a bottle of Joy from Jean PATOU from the 50's (my grand-mother collection), and at the time, it was 100% natural. A real gem. They do not make those anymore.
