- Tan Hill and Milk Hill in Wiltshire form the centrepiece of the Pewsey Downs, and the highest points in Wiltshire. But is it easy to park, is it easy to climb, what are the views like and is it worth it? Hedley Thorne once again investigates but today is joined by TH-camr Warren Brand from @Linleys and local specialist David Carson.

Yay Hedley! Great vid 👏😎
Hey thank you!
I would agree this area is probably the best hill country Wessex has to offer - absolutely stunning and expertly captured on camera here. Also good to see it's not just us lot up north struggling to find anything remotely like summer!
Thank you! Yes such a beautiful area, I am spending much time there these last few years. Great company this day too!
Super good 👍
@@James_Thorne loved it
I really enjoy your commentary. One day I will be brave enough to do it.
Lovely video Hedley!! I have an itch to explore the Wiltshire Downs after watching this
Definitely recommended! It is about 10/11 miles walk this one, stunning views
Awesome video Hedley. I was walking there a couple of weeks ago and met a friendly bunch of wild ferrets on the path, magic!
Ooh crikey!! Beautiful place isn’t it
Great work mate new sub and big like from drone show live.
Awesome so lovely landscape. Thanks for sharing & big like
Thank you SO much, appreciated! -Hedley
I just love Pewsey Downs and the Barge! I lived and worked one summer long ago there and had an amazing time.
Oh wow I hadn't realised. Yes I love the area, I spend a lot of time there nowadays
Fantastic episode Hedley, the best one so far in this series. The opening titles were impressive, and the drone footage is spectacular throughout. I was surprised how Warren was always smiling, given the weight of your Gevrey-Chambertin in his rucksack must of been challenging.
Haha! Warren would smile during a thermonuclear attack, I am wondering whether it’s happiness or despair! Thanks for the nice comment
Wonderful stuff, thanks Hedley. The one part of the escarpment I haven't walked over, and one of the causewayed enclosures I haven't visited too . That's a weekend planned for Autumn in the bag but I'd best get a bit of exercise first 😁
@@britishlongbarrows you definitely won't be disappointed! Let me know if you need any more information
Come on Hedley, the footie is on in twenty mins😂😂😂
Haha! Oops 😅
@@hedleythorneAnd what a match it was too. Even my wife, who generally hates football loved it. Truth be known I had taken her shopping and we got home after all the goals had been scored!! Let's hope the England game is worth watching too ......
For a change I watched using subtitles which was surprisingly very good. The drone shots were simply amazing. A wonderful place to visit. Very interesting to hear how the scouring is done.
Great company too.
All the best!!
Lovely images, fascinating stories. The wind made it bit difficult to hear some of the talking which was a shame. Was that Samwalksalot in the clips at the beginning? Thank you
Hi, yes I still need to invest in a mic, sorry. The first bit was Warren and myself, but using the same drone technique. Love that Milk Hill backdrop!
Yep, that was me lol
