It would be funny if your Agent watches this video and hears the slug story and points at it and says “I want that book.” Also i like the slug idea i can see a world where people could get obsessed with weird things like that especially if the slug slime has any properties to reducing ones life span and or looks of being old.
🤣 I don’t know that she watches my stuff that regularly but it would be funny. I almost never pitch her stuff. I just send her my wild things. And yesss like people can get used to doing seemingly odd things
Ever since I was a kid and saw The Neverending Story, I've been OBSESSED with the idea of SOMEDAY writing a story dealing with snails so the moment you mentioned, slugs, I was like, "Where is it and why can't I read it yet?!?" That sounds like such a cool concept and a wild ride! Also love the idea of a dystopian horror. I feel like a lot of the dystopians I read had horror elements but never fully committed to the genre, and I honestly can't imagine living in such a world, because I do think so many living then would be traumatized and suffering PTSD. Jeez! The paranoia alone would kill people off. Add in some horror elements or a supernatural entity... Oof... I'm with you. I love a good haunted house bit in any form of media, be it movie, book or play. That was actually what drew me to read Delicious Monsters in the long run. Very glad I did. It was NOT what I was expecting in the best way.
Yessss I’m glad that you’re wanting to do a snail story. I feel less outlandish with my slugs haha And yeah I suppose that’s true that in a lot of popular dystopian books it’s those horror elements. It seems more in movies/shows that they really get into the horror. But I agree haha that it just lends itself so well to horror. And I’m so glad you enjoyed Delicious Monsters!!
I’m fascinated by your ideas! I was talking to writer friends about this and how I’m kind of the opposite and don’t have too many ideas (or at least not as many as you and my other writer friends). So, I’m fascinated by this! Your glass houses idea reminds me of the Disney DCOM Smart House. That’s almost like very early AI! As someone who used VHS tapes all the way through high school (and I think I’m a few years older than you) while my friends had moved onto TiVo and other ways to record things, I’m absolutely fascinated by your VHS tape idea! Yes, please! 😍 I’m also fascinated on how you want to explore and combine your horror and thriller ideas in YA. Slugs don’t sound like they’re for me, but if you wrote it, I’d probably read it. I’m not a horror fan the way you are, but the two pieces of horror media I absolutely LOVE are Netflix’s ARCHIVE 81 (that inspired my own horror pilot and its novel adaptation) and the 1995 horror series AMERICAN GOTHIC created by Shaun Cassidy. Both TV shows are one season and I highly recommend them! Watch them!
I’m glad you were fascinated!! And I feel like that’s fair that some authors have less ideas, which is great too because I’m sure that gives you a lot of focus. I always feel kind of all over the place because I’m trying to choose from all the things swirling in my head 😅 Yes! I do think it would be so fun to do something with VHS tapes and physical media in general which I’m getting back into. And yeah I feel like so many of my ideas are combo horror/thriller. My inclination is always to genre blend haha And thanks for the recommendations!! I started the archive show but got discouraged when Netflix cancelled it so fast 😩 but I really should watch it.
I find it so funny that the idea I thought no one would be interested in is what people are cheering on 🤣 sometimes something is so weird that you kind of what to see it happen so I get it. I really do think it would be fun to write because it’s so odd
Slugs meets Archer. I kept seeing that noise detective style when you were describing it. And the Trinidad eccentric billionaire book sign me up as a beta reader❤
Omg I’m such a fan of Archer too, but I don’t think I could be that funny haha and yay for support of my eccentric billionaire ideas, especially that Trinidad one 🥰
Aahh I love this kind of content!✨ Thanks for sharing, Liselle! Your story ideas are so intriguing and exciting that you got me thinking like a writer again! You’ve inspired me to dust off my own ideas and do some writing ! Thanks for the body doubling serotonin boost!! 💜 sending all the good writing vibes from England 🇬🇧
"That one was really good. And when I say really good, I mean horror movie really good, and that its like, a little bit bad but its very satisfying to watch." Ah, a true horror fan. Yeah, "horror movie good" usually isn't the same as "good" in other genres. 😅
I just read a locked door scifi thriller about a tech billionaire and his workers trapped on an island with a strange house titled ..... GLASS HOUSES by Madeline Ashby.
A friend just today sent me that book and I realized I’d marked it to read on Goodreads this year and then forgot 🤣 another reason to NOT call the book the glass house lol I’m now like “hmm maybe this is not the book to do next”. But I do really want to read it and see how close it actually is to the idea I have
@@LiselleSambury It wasn’t my favorite book but from a craft perspective, it’s interesting - it alternates between two distinct stories: (1) thriller in present tense with short fast paced chapters, (2) background story that leads up to events in thriller in past tense with long meandering chapters. Personally, I got annoyed whenever it switched to past tense because I was only engaged with the thriller portion-but your mileage may vary!
@@DaisyXMachina interesting!! I think it’ll be worthwhile to read in any case, but that’s the challenge with dual POV when you like one a lot more than the other
The slug story sounds perfect as a short story in a sci fi anthology.
That would be fun!! Maybe one day when I get bandwidth to do anthologies again. It’s a very good consideration

SAW THE TITLE AND RAN

Oh, this is inspired me so much to go through all my shiny ideas and put them in order
Omg do it!! It’s fun to get excited about future projects

Haha same
On the Notion page with many book ideas that I keep adding to.
Yay! It’s so helpful to have
can't wait to read your slug story haha
Glad there’s at least one reader interested! Lol
Wait i'm kinda obsessed with the slug concept 😂 need this to be written just to see how that works out!
I find it so funny that the idea I thought no one would be interested in is what people are cheering on 🤣 sometimes something is so weird that you kind of what to see it happen so I get it. I really do think it would be fun to write because it’s so odd
Exciting times.
☺️☺️
this video concept is so fun. kind of like a tbr for authortube :) a tbw!
Yes!! Exactly that haha
Love the slug-idea!
Haha thank you, lot of love for the slugs apparently!

Damn, that's a lot! You're putting ME to shame! lol But that's awesome. Good luck.
I’m just one of those people that just has like a ton of ideas for whatever reason 😅
Aahh I love this kind of content!✨

Happy to have helped out with the body doubling!! ☺️☺️ I also find these sorts of content so fun lol
slugs would be so iconic
Haha I’m glad you think so!! I’m considerinh

🤣🤣🤣 right?? Like, some people would say this is objectively a terrible movie, but I had a wonderful time. Five stars
The slugs feels like commentary on trends, like Stanley Cups, but times a thousand
Lol yes I can totally see that. In like a more gross/macabre format 😂

It’s times like this when I’m happy that I have so many ideas because I can just be like “well, guess I won’t do that anymore” 😅
