Join "What The Farm Girl" on her many CRAZY adventures running their NEWLY BUILT, FIRST GENERATION family farm on 87 acres in Western Michigan. Born and raised a city-girl, she's finding out everyday what's she's made of as she struggles to figure out making small square bales of hay, repairing farm equipment and raising animals for food. With plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor and lots of mischief, you never know what you'll watch next!
Equipment includes a John Deere 5410 open cab tractor, a John Deere sickle mower, a new Holland 575 Hay Baler, a New Holland t5.115 tractor and a TYM 574 tractor and backhoe combo. Farming hay, small scale farming
Thanks for all your support!

Another great vid! Sub soiling should help alot with your field
We used a brillion land commander to work our fields. Never sub soil across wet slopes always go up and down the slope.
You should back into the fence line and a little bit farther if possible to drain the water off the edge of the field.
When we rowcropped cotton and peanuts we subsoiled under the rows every year, But since we converted to hay only we Switched over to "punching" the ha fields with an Industrias America aeroater
We've tried looking into aerators, there was one company that made a soil fracturer but they went out of business :( Have you noticed good results wth your aerator?
Our Dominate Variety of Hay Grass(Tifton 44) is planted by incorperating into the soil(sprigging) living parts of the plants... The seed are sterile.... So punching the soil with the aerator cut the rhizones under the soil surface encouraging the Roots to put on new plants above ground. everywhere it is cut.... Also creates little divots in the soil that collect water, fertilizer etc.... We punch every spring.... The Industrias America Areator is less disturbing to the soil surface and creates no obstruction to the equipment.... The first year we harvested in 4cuts 1000 4x5 rounds, this year in 2 cuts1665 4x5 rounds,
Hard to believe you have a daughter old enough to go to the prom
LOL yup the years go by fast!
