I very like companions because I like do vet dungeons with my dad as duo, my dad is an oldman so he need more time to learn stuff so we like do dungeons unhurried, slowly explore and teach bosses, it is hard to find players to play with us in such tempo, so companions very helpful, now we have more options with this set, next thing we away for is golden companion gear.

What builds do you two use? Super curious since my mum and dad run three man with me cause we like to slow explore too. We want to get into vet content but my parents aren't quite there yet gear wise.
My dad use pure survivable tank setup so he can live even if he did some mistake, his setup is dk nord with plague doctor + leeching plate + engine guardian. I use heavy attack one bar builds, but use different classes depend of situation, if need resurrection ult use Necromancer, if need to use Psijic Order Precognition ult for self rescue (for exaple in vet bloodforge) then use Sorc, for other cases when just need to do good damage and survive I use one bar Warden as it do good damage and increase hp for me and dad. Also I like 2 bar templar but for now I think one bar heavy attackers more effective, this may change after necrom and Velothi Ur-Mage's Amulet mythic. We use both healer companions with all purple Quickened gear, we use Ember and Isobel, but any companion can heal, after this video I am interested to use Bastion and Isobel with new set to boost heavy attacks.
currently our best achieve with these setups are vet fang lair with hm and vet scalecaller peak also with hm, we did it after many many tries, I am so proud of my dad :)
This is cool. I have both Bastion and Isobel set as tanks. I can see this being useful in the new 'dungeon for 2'. Normal content also, as i still spend most of my time playing alone.
One tip for companions is skills that are “oh shit” buttons such as Vanish or Mystic Fortress (they usually come with a hp% requirement) should be put first in the bar so they use it as soon as the condition is triggered. Otherwise you may get a situation where Isobel is jabbing instead of vanishing and dies because she has 2 skills queued before her escape. Same for mystic fortress, if someone is low hp, they want that shield right now, not 2s later.
Telvanni Efficiency + Veloti Ur Mage Mythic + X for ultimate solo companion build maybe... the new Arcanist companion looks like an awesome tank/support companion, lots of buff
I think this will pair really well with Heartland Conqueror set, in a leveling / CP farming setup. Training trait on everything except jewelry (obviously); where you'll probably want to go with either three Swift or maybe just one Swift and two Robust (cause you'll find yourself sprinting a lot while farming CP).
Ohh this set with ember’s cooldown skill she could use so many long cooldown abilities I’d never use otherwise! The companion armor skills look so fun to put in builds but the cooldowns are ridiculous, maybe this armor set will make that better
The problem though is HOW can casual players get it? It is crafted so likely will be morbidly expensive. I don't see how it's possible. Even look at prices of "Amulet of the Order's Wrath" like that's so hard to imagine a casual player being able to drop that kinda gold... I think that's an unfortunate reality of this set.
@@ColeEvyx why would they need an amulet... they can literally get orders wrath crafted for their bodies pretty much free... and buy purple mother sorrow jewels and weps for under a 100k gold ... you're over thinking simple things.
@@kanadagreeen no one groups or even talks to each other with or without the companions. ESO was the first mmo I've played where people don't even say hi to each other in dungeons. Never seen that in GW2 or Lotro and thought it was a custom to talk to people since it's an online game. Antisocial mutes in ESO proved me so wrong :D
I run mostly solo with isabel. She's my tank. I don't have Bastian yet. but this is really cool info for me! especially knowing how to manage "pets" and recalling and whatnot. though I do dual bar :( I don't oakensoul nevertheless thank you for all your info!!
why cant companions use pre existing sets that players can use and for roleplayers become vampires and werewolves? Or be fed on by the vampire players as a source of food.

This might actually bring me back to the game. I've had no interest in the new expansion so far, but if I can solo all the PvE content and farm new sets by myself, that'll leave me with more time and energy to focus on PvP, which is what I mainly like in ESO.
Wait wait wait. Companion Quickened trait is ADDITIVE with Telvani set? That seems super strong. I fear that ZOS will patch it and make it multiplicative. So we will get 65% reduction instead of the 85% we see now.
I like running dungeons with my wife. She brings ember and I usually bring Bastian but I've been bringing azandar along since I like his perk and wanna level him up ASAP. We're both levelling arcanists so I've crafted us both 5x heartland conqueror and 5x telvanni efficiency to smooth along the process.
Since getting Telvanni, i have slotted a couple of the longer cooldown skills. Which are suddenly very useful! - Provoke (every 5 seconds, so Bas can taunt 3x targets during 15 seconds) -On guard (100% uptime now) - Drake's blood (every 6sec, 100% uptime) -Crushing claws (50% uptime! 4 seconds every 8 seconds!) -Blazing grasp every 4seconds! To pull in loose adds. I'm still working on the cast order but the addition of claws and the chain make Bas a BOSS at tanking groups now.
Her/its taunt and survivability is so good, that on any world boss or group dungeon, I just stay at range melting the enemy and occasionally throwing up my intensive mender, to keep isy going strong. She/It holds the adversaries attention so well, I need never get close.
This could be useful but unless its a set that the companion wears to get the bonuses (currently not a thing) I don't see people giving up a 5 piece that benefits themselves. Alternatively the dps and utility boost would have to justify dropping half of your available set bonuses off your person. Maybe its worth it, hard to tell from looking at stat cards. Its possible that this set allows you to run a full dps build with this set and whatever else combined with a tank or healer companion and become an overland solo setup that way.
Is Bastian still your favourite tank companion, even with 6x companions to choose from? Our tank went offline at the start of a Vet dungeon yesterday, and Bastion auto popped out and tanked like a boss. His health hardly moved for the entire dungeon, not even during the AOE that one shots players who don't run. I do have Telvanni Efficiency (paired with Noble Duelist). I hear good things about Sharp tanking. But Bastian keeps me good (I blew up a monkey yesterday and he really made me feel bad 😂 haha)
I wonder if this would make some fun challenge running a half team of Companions for Trials since the buff is so significantly good that they could pass up as replacements. Probably would change the setup tho since the entire team has to wear this set so everyone has to make do.
That's great news, because I definitely love using my companions. Only two things I consider disadvantages: I can only have one active at any given time. I wish ZOS would grand us an option to have two of them active. Guess that's too much to ask for? The other thing I wish for is the ability to use player equipment on them. Seriously: companion equipment isn't cutting it. It's difficult to obtain, there's no way to improve stuff, which makes it even harder to find stuff. I really want to simply give Mirri, Ember, Isobel etc. simply some of my older sets and call it a day. Not sure, how well that new set fits to the game 'though. Let's get through with it: The set is a hybrid set. Of course it is, otherwise it wouldn't benefit all players. It's good and bad at the same time, because some builds simply won't profit fully from that set. A pure Magicka build doesn't need Stamina buffs ;-) Also if someone is setting up a build based on proc, this set clearly isn't a good pick. Hmm. Since your character can have only 12 slots (+2 on your backbar), you can't have two full 5-piece-sets + a full monster set + a Mythic item. That's something to consider and may break certain builds. To make ANY use of this set, you have to decide: either monster set OR Mythic item. Difficult decision. I think I'd give up that monster set. So let's think about a good ol' classic Oakensoul build supported by a powerful Companion and I should end with Sergeant's Mail + Telvanni Efficiency + Oakensoul + one monster set piece. I think I'll keep Domihaus (+ Magicka and Stamina) or pick one that adds additional Health. Since I got most of the stuff already all I need is to craft that new set and give it a try. Maybe I finally can do some of the more difficult dungeons solo (lacking the skill for some of the vanilla ones).
If you're running content with a companion, I doubt you need to worry about min/max ing your gear. Whatever DPS loss you might perceive to have is made up by having less pressure on you.

In ur website, for stamina nb no proc build, u said to play "Order's Wrath" But Order's Wrath, are 5th passive "increased crit damage and healing" is not taken into effect. ;)
I used to raid as a hunter in wow back in the day. Compared to that the companion/pet controlling mechs in eso are easy mode lol. Arent we getting pre-made group finder at the end of the year? I wonder if they are worried about pugs and dungeon finder?
no they won't, at least not in vet dungeons...my isobel tank can already stand up to the sable knight wb but if I take her in a vet dungeon she folds pretty fast. He should've taken his companion to the wb on the left side of the map (ascendent something) as there's more aoes and adds
I can solo mob packs in vet dungeons and like 30%, of the bosses lol companions definitely needed an upgrade. I don't and never will use companions and even I think this is a great change
6:30 I think you're gonna need ten to twenty million gold if you want to get Isobel's Penetrating Strikes cooldown to 2.5 seconds as all her equipment would need to be purple and quickened 😁

I don't hear to much about the companion : Mage Guild ,/ Fighter's Guild / Undaunted commendation that you can buy with Event Tickets , Like : how many can be used at one time & When Or how often can they be used , Also when is the best time to use them .
With Companions receiving such a buff to be more reliable in harder content - and therefore making Overland even easier - could you potentially do a video that is a deep dive on your perspective of what the issues with Overland are?
I wanted to see if there was a video on this. The set is actually amazing for solo. Isobel > Bastian [Tank] though. It was all about skill set rotation plus gear. 7piece hp/5pc quicken Isobel = 1 savage 2 Ritual 3 Holy 4 Solar 5 Sacrament. Bastian is good though. She is allowing me to solo vet dungeons, odd thing she is surviving 1 shots? I run Oaken HA- Sergeants/Telvanni. Tc and enjoy the content. Oh- make a training sets and let your companions lvl you…..lol.
Bastian also has Basalt barrier which is very good..15% healing recieved with near 100% uptime. He is a great Tank and Healer and also makes a great buffer/support with many options. Its shame he is the worst companion personality wise lol.
this might make companions worth doing while messin around with world bosses. I tend to just solo em, but companions usually die so damn quickly it's never worth using them. With this set they can actually be useful.
If this game keeps its legs i a.i. can see them giving companions some greater range of autonomy beyond what we see. For example being able to swap out skills per encounter w/o a command? Or maybe more dynamic immersive conversation? Also they could carry and maybe suggest gear setups based off environment? Idk. Pretty cool tho.
Take them thru a vet dungeon solo and they fold up pretty fast without heals from you which is a shame because they should be able to fill the role in a group situation. It's dumb to have to wear a set to make them not be squishy, they should share your buffs or get extra HP/defense buffs in vet content
I don't see why they don't just give the companions their own sets to wear instead of us wearing the sets for them. same as our inventory being filled with their gear when they should have their own gear bag that we can access. it's neat that they are doing something for the companions but it could definitely be better.
It would be awesome to be able to set companions up with some armour sets. Thinking about how OP you could make them with the same sets players can use, it would make the whole game much easier to solo, which I don’t think they *entirely* want.
So, bastian have increase attack damage of group by 15% and Isobel increase 50% of nearby allies. If i am with Isobel and my friend with bastian. We 4 have 65%? What if we both use Isobel? 100%?
Its funny that I solo with an isy tank, and have done for a long time, she makes a better tank than most tanks I have quested with, I equip her/it with Two taunt skills, Two healing skills, one attack and the ultimate; all purple heavy, various traits except the one gold ring we nearly all got, plus purple sword and shield. When I solo VOM, and I get to the Harvester boss that picks you up constantly (annoyingly), I go and make a coffee or open a beer, enjoy my beverage and when I am done, my Isy has killed it for me. Try it for yourself.
this makes them so viable for more basic content that they should just cut Companions' cooldowns in half by default (and think of a new buff for this set). before now, the only reasonably decent companion build was heals and whatever unique buffs/debuffs a companion could bring... tanking and damage was just not there, even against basic stuff like world bosses.
4:54 "y" commands them to use their ult, not come back to you. maybe show us where you bind the "Recall companion" because i don't see an option to do so.
Thing I don't like is I have to use a 5 piece set for companions to be viable. If they can somehow just buff companions at base without any sets, then I will consider companions worth it
Barr one, there is one world boss in Vvardenfell, that cannot defeat me, but I cannot defeat it, even with my isy. It just has a mechanic where I deplete half it's life, the it will jump on me and siphon its life back, I have battled this thing for 3 hours, when I gave up and run away, even Isy cant help me.
I don't have much trouble with my companion dying. I love my Bastian but I use him as a healer. Neither of us die very often. Still I need to check out your setups for some ideas. Icyfyre is a legend. What is that polymorph you have on??????
I use Ember as a second magicka dps. Im doing Isobel quest now and will probably make her into a tank while Bastion becomes a healer. The dark elf lady will be stamina dps. The warden will be a tank and the Arcanist will probably be a healer to.
Haven't bothered to lvl up any of the companion to get their ult or all the skill slots. Though it is the gear for them that is the worst thing to farm or even buy, I honestly don't know in which content they are useful in even, like for questing they are somewhat nice to have for a bit, haven't tried to solo any dungeons with them except for fungal (which is pretty easy to do, even for a cricket)
My friend and I 2-man even some dlc dungeons with just companions. when you max out their rapport you get their special skill which is quick doing fighters guild and mages guild dailies. mirri gives you treasure hidden treasure in chests, ember occasional hidden wallets when pickpocketing, bastion potent versions of stam/mag/health pots, and then you can put them in your house as a pathable house guest.
Yes. I did Black Rose Prison which is much harder with a friend, he brought Isobel as tank and I brought Isobel as healer. With this set we could have managed it on veteran probably.

As a solo pve player, I love companions. Very happy with this set and hoping it reaches live with little if any changes.

It’s almost like having twice born star on companions, you can stack aggressive or other traits and the set will supply quickened.
I've wondered why we can't craft or improve companion armor. Have the devs ever said why this wasn't baked in from the beginning?

Downside is arming your companion to the teeth with the desires triats can cost the enormous fortune. On pc NA 1 correct gear piece can cost 1+ mil

I used to raid as a hunter in wow back in the day. Compared to that the companion/pet controlling mechs in eso are easy mode lol. Arent we getting pre-made group finder at the end of the year? I wonder if they are worried about pugs and dungeon finder?
I normally equip my companions with cooldown reduction, this will make them so much faster. Sounds fun.

no they won't, at least not in vet dungeons...my isobel tank can already stand up to the sable knight wb but if I take her in a vet dungeon she folds pretty fast. He should've taken his companion to the wb on the left side of the map (ascendent something) as there's more aoes and adds
I can solo mob packs in vet dungeons and like 30%, of the bosses lol companions definitely needed an upgrade.
I don't and never will use companions and even I think this is a great change

You’ll need to micromanage their movement to stay in it. They strafe left and right during some fights enough to just walk out of it.

6:30 I think you're gonna need ten to twenty million gold if you want to get Isobel's Penetrating Strikes cooldown to 2.5 seconds as all her equipment would need to be purple and quickened 😁

I don't hear to much about the companion : Mage Guild ,/ Fighter's Guild / Undaunted commendation that you can buy with Event Tickets , Like : how many can be used at one time & When Or how often can they be used , Also when is the best time to use them .
With Companions receiving such a buff to be more reliable in harder content - and therefore making Overland even easier - could you potentially do a video that is a deep dive on your perspective of what the issues with Overland are?
I wanted to see if there was a video on this. The set is actually amazing for solo. Isobel > Bastian [Tank] though. It was all about skill set rotation plus gear. 7piece hp/5pc quicken Isobel = 1 savage 2 Ritual 3 Holy 4 Solar 5 Sacrament. Bastian is good though. She is allowing me to solo vet dungeons, odd thing she is surviving 1 shots? I run Oaken HA- Sergeants/Telvanni. Tc and enjoy the content. Oh- make a training sets and let your companions lvl you…..lol.

Bastian also has Basalt barrier which is very good..15% healing recieved with near 100% uptime. He is a great Tank and Healer and also makes a great buffer/support with many options. Its shame he is the worst companion personality wise lol.

this might make companions worth doing while messin around with world bosses. I tend to just solo em, but companions usually die so damn quickly it's never worth using them. With this set they can actually be useful.

If this game keeps its legs i a.i. can see them giving companions some greater range of autonomy beyond what we see. For example being able to swap out skills per encounter w/o a command? Or maybe more dynamic immersive conversation? Also they could carry and maybe suggest gear setups based off environment? Idk. Pretty cool tho.

Take them thru a vet dungeon solo and they fold up pretty fast without heals from you which is a shame because they should be able to fill the role in a group situation. It's dumb to have to wear a set to make them not be squishy, they should share your buffs or get extra HP/defense buffs in vet content
I don't see why they don't just give the companions their own sets to wear instead of us wearing the sets for them. same as our inventory being filled with their gear when they should have their own gear bag that we can access. it's neat that they are doing something for the companions but it could definitely be better.
It would be awesome to be able to set companions up with some armour sets. Thinking about how OP you could make them with the same sets players can use, it would make the whole game much easier to solo, which I don’t think they *entirely* want.
I used to use Mirri for healing but then I tried Isabel when she came out and it was so much better lol
So, bastian have increase attack damage of group by 15% and Isobel increase 50% of nearby allies. If i am with Isobel and my friend with bastian. We 4 have 65%? What if we both use Isobel? 100%?
But why does he recommend it in medium weight (on his website) for a mag sorc? Why would medium be better than light?

Its funny that I solo with an isy tank, and have done for a long time, she makes a better tank than most tanks I have quested with, I equip her/it with Two taunt skills, Two healing skills, one attack and the ultimate; all purple heavy, various traits except the one gold ring we nearly all got, plus purple sword and shield. When I solo VOM, and I get to the Harvester boss that picks you up constantly (annoyingly), I go and make a coffee or open a beer, enjoy my beverage and when I am done, my Isy has killed it for me. Try it for yourself.
this makes them so viable for more basic content that they should just cut Companions' cooldowns in half by default (and think of a new buff for this set). before now, the only reasonably decent companion build was heals and whatever unique buffs/debuffs a companion could bring... tanking and damage was just not there, even against basic stuff like world bosses.
Did i miss something? which race i should use to these builds?
Hopefully Telvanni Efficiency craftable set doesn't get nerfed before the Necrom Chapter launch.

Thing I don't like is I have to use a 5 piece set for companions to be viable. If they can somehow just buff companions at base without any sets, then I will consider companions worth it
Barr one, there is one world boss in Vvardenfell, that cannot defeat me, but I cannot defeat it, even with my isy. It just has a mechanic where I deplete half it's life, the it will jump on me and siphon its life back, I have battled this thing for 3 hours, when I gave up and run away, even Isy cant help me.
Have a healing companion or always pop a heal when he summon the copies. I ve done with my nightblade just using vigor as heal.
I don't have much trouble with my companion dying. I love my Bastian but I use him as a healer. Neither of us die very often. Still I need to check out your setups for some ideas. Icyfyre is a legend. What is that polymorph you have on??????
The polymorph is the Soulrazer Knight, it's from the Dark Chivalry crown crate.
I use Ember as a second magicka dps. Im doing Isobel quest now and will probably make her into a tank while Bastion becomes a healer.
The dark elf lady will be stamina dps.
The warden will be a tank and the Arcanist will probably be a healer to.

Wondering if this game will ever think of adding earrings for us to slot. Kinda lame just a necklace and 2 rings. Would be also great on companions.
Haven't bothered to lvl up any of the companion to get their ult or all the skill slots.
Though it is the gear for them that is the worst thing to farm or even buy, I honestly don't know in which content they are useful in even, like for questing they are somewhat nice to have for a bit, haven't tried to solo any dungeons with them except for fungal (which is pretty easy to do, even for a cricket)
My friend and I 2-man even some dlc dungeons with just companions. when you max out their rapport you get their special skill which is quick doing fighters guild and mages guild dailies. mirri gives you treasure hidden treasure in chests, ember occasional hidden wallets when pickpocketing, bastion potent versions of stam/mag/health pots, and then you can put them in your house as a pathable house guest.
now we need a set: you can summon two companions for 5 parts, and 3 for 10.
So this set is the ultimate solo set?
I run oakensorc. The matriach keeps ember the tank alive. Shes the best tank. I can solo VHM dungeons with her. Only a one shot will kill her. Cheers.
This is just how companions should work by default. I shouldn't need to sacrifice one of my 5pc sets to make my companion better than worthless.

I did Black Rose Prison which is much harder with a friend, he brought Isobel as tank and I brought Isobel as healer.
With this set we could have managed it on veteran probably.
I did we beat vDSA with 3 ppl and 1 companion.
I remember telling people this was going to happen eventually, and everyone was like, "Nah nah bro. No way." That said, it's another reason I don't play.
