Unpopular opinion abt NBA 2K: I honestly stopped getting the latest 2k cuz it’s just the same shit and I’ve grinded so hard to get to a 90+ ovr all just for the game to die a year later. In short wash, rinse, repeat. Same mypark same city and it just got me tired of grinding my ass off to get to a decent rating and a matter of a lot of shots not getting in

In any situation, the people have the power. If everyone would boycott 2k and just not buy it, they would lose money. This would cause them to make changes to the game to make people want to spend their money on the game again. They have no competition right now, so if yall keep buying it they gone keep repackaging NBA 2k18 and sell it to y'all year after year.

Can we talk about the visuals too? The first game looked so colorful, and arcadey, while all the modern games are going for a more bland color pallet. Just take a look at the kinds of games Midway would make! Sports games today mostly look the same for me.
This is an old video but watching this now, I think they need to stop trying to make the game realistic. That’s what’s driving people away along side the micro-transactions.
So honestly this video was great, although some basic flaws I saw were: You said it takes 100 to fully upgrade a player when it only takes 50. You also said from 19-20 not much changed gameplay wise, when in fact 2k got rid of all the dribble moves from 19 and gave us the worst year for dribbling yet. Other than that, great video quality and you’ve earned a sub.
last 2k game I played for real was 2k14 which I still boot up so I can have fun with mods. last 2k I bought was 2k19...for 5.99, all I saw were 1 star reviews 🤦🏾♂️😭

This series is dead. It's never going to be good again, same as Madden, because there is literally no incentive to change. They are never getting rid of microtransactions, and will only find more ways to charge more money for more junk.

The reason you feel the game is so hard on you is because EA sports use DDA in all of their online gaming . DDA (Dynamic difficulty adjustment) is a patent they use in few ways to increase your engagement with their games. "DDA" in the most simple way I can explain it, is used to make the game more equal between a more experienced player and a less skilled player. This is done in order to close the skill gap and increase the engagement of both players by making the less skilled player less frustrated and to prevent him from quiting the game. On the other side, an experienced player may feel bored if he wins to many games so they make the game harder on him. The reason they involve this in their games is because all of their games includes extra transactions in packs and coins and dlcs and that's where they get a lot of their money from. When they use DDA they basically making your team play bad by decreasing their stats or increasing your opponents stats and vice versa. this psychological manipulation is used against bad players and even if you are a good player. When your player are not preforming the way you think they should you will think there is something wrong with your team or players, so the next thing you'll think about is opening up some packs. Those packs which you get from objectives or if you want a short cut you'll just pay. the chances of getting the players you want are also controlled by the algorithm. The sad thing is that it's a cycle. They won't let you win to much and they will keep you frustrated just in the exect right amount, so you keep on playing and engage with this system, the more you engage with the game the more likely you are to buy packs. If you feel your players miss clear shots on target, your passes are interrupted all the time, if your AI starts to act weird in defense and offense and no matter what you do, your player suddenly become slow, and out paced no matter which players you use, its because the system is scriptted so the other player will be favorite. It's important to note it goes both ways, and all players experience it, so if you feel you win the game easily its because your players are boosted, or you lose no matter what you do its because they change your setting mid play. if you will win too much they will try to make it harder on you. From gaming perspective it makes the game less satisfying to win because you feel you are being helped and very frustrating to lose because you feel the force of the algorithm against you. Pro players will still find ways to overcome this using "meta" knowledge of the games and "broken" methods from experience and still it will be very hard because of the scriptting, but to the average player he will find it very frustrating and it is made that way to make you more engaged and more likely to buy packs from their store and merchandise. Everything from the way the menus are designed to daily objectives and the packing rewarding system is part of the whole psychological method they use in combination with the DDA/scripting/handicapped system so you will be frustrated and change your team constantly. The streamers are part of it, even if they don't know about the whole system or bellive in the dda system, they get free packs which they promote on their streams to make you feel you have to get the same players. They also had a law suit on this subject which was dropped. The patent is on the internet and free to read. They use DDA against you. They use the packs system against you. They use streamers and marketing teams in millions of dollars. It's not the bags or the inconsistent gameplay , it's not your internet connection, it's not your squad, its not your formation, its not your tactics, it's not your skills, It's about money... It's geniusly evil. Most of the people just can't observe and connect all the dots or accept they have been gaslighted and frustrated and angry for years just because of money scheme. but it's really easy to understand if you are not too emotionally invested in this game.
2K sports it's located out here in the Bay Area. A bunch of my friends parents worked there in high school so all of us always used to get free copies and got to go to events. They used to treat their employees pretty well until they didn't. I think that's when the quality of the game started down as well
That dribble cheese HAS to be removed. The Stop and Go badge should be taken out immediately! You have people spamming the dribbling animations, going side to side being able to lose the defender EVERYTIME because of how fast they’re able to change directions! There’s not enough consequences for that. For example, stamina! Losing the ball! It’s CHEESE. The step back cheese needs to be taken out as well. I love playing rec but that stuff needs to be changed. It’s not realistic.
I just downloaded 2k2 for dreamcast yesterday and it plays really well. You can just freely run around a screen without calling a play and there's more randomness in your shots like real life, it is pretty fun.

2k has become too mainstream. Even the soundtrack is just filled with whatever songs are popular at the time. Each game used to have its own personality with a unique soundtrack with songs most never heard, different menu screens, and new game modes. Now it’s just generic crap…

Setting up a competitive ass myleague, putting yourself in WITHOUT making a superteam or super player and actually developing like this is real basketball is actually really fucking fun. Playing on the highest difficulty for sure. As well as playing on Real Player instead of User Timing because you need actually basketball IQ to score. Been doing it since 2k9 and the times I played my career(18 and 19) I hated it. MyLeague is underrated.
Been doing this since 2k16 on last gen, definitely one of the better underused ways of playing the game. But there are just some aspects of MyCareer that make your player feel more personal to you, for me personally is the reason why I still play MyCareer. Things like post game interviews when you break a record (which 2k21 took out for some reason), signature animations like emotes and celebrations, having more control over your development without the temptation of cheating. They both have their merits

nba 2k21 myteam actually isn't that bad with the content drops and free cards but when they release packs u always get the worst cards which forces u to open more until u get what u want thats why i don't spend money on packs
Yeah, I got 2k18 and it was so bad at first until I started buying coins to improve my player. It wasn’t a good experience, compared to something like 2k13 (my personal favorite)
This is what happens in a monopoly, they are free to do whatever the fuck they want without a care as to what the fan base thinks. Where else can we live out our dream of playing on an nba team? Nowhere other than the real world. I wish game developers were more ambitious because 2k could EASILY be over taken by another developer if they weren’t scared to challenge the monopoly that the 2k franchise has become.

A few problems with your suggestions. 1. Many people, and I mean almost all, don’t like skill based matchmaking because no one wants to sweat every game. It’s the same problem with every casual game that puts it in. Unless a game/game mode is strictly competitive/ ranked it shouldn’t have sbmm. 2. Getting rid of micro transactions is just a no and will always be a no. Getting rid of the tedious ones like haircuts makes sense but saying to not allow people to spend money in their 2nd if not 1st most played mode is just silly. It’s a business and the goal of any business is to make as much money as possible. 3. Yeah they should make new interesting features. Nothing to say there, game gets boring with stale events and game modes.

Been doing this since 2k16 on last gen, definitely one of the better underused ways of playing the game. But there are just some aspects of MyCareer that make your player feel more personal to you, for me personally is the reason why I still play MyCareer. Things like post game interviews when you break a record (which 2k21 took out for some reason), signature animations like emotes and celebrations, having more control over your development without the temptation of cheating. They both have their merits

My fav 2k was 2k12 thats probably the best one! I have noticed over the years 2k has stopped caring about the player models, and the different modes in 2k. Especially now with 2k23 its like a telenovola its annoying

I grew up watching Chris smoove, and only him on 2k, best 2ks are 2k10, 2k11, 2k12, 2k13, 2k14, 2k15. Then it stops.
2k11 12 were the best years for my player in my opinion. The most simple and fun.

2k15 when you can save and replay the play now mode to farm the VC for your MyPlayer. Then make multiple MyPlayers.

Yeah, I got 2k18 and it was so bad at first until I started buying coins to improve my player. It wasn’t a good experience, compared to something like 2k13 (my personal favorite)

The sports genre in videogames is on life support. Only thing I've heard hype for in the past 5 years is a new Skate.
This is what happens in a monopoly, they are free to do whatever the fuck they want without a care as to what the fan base thinks. Where else can we live out our dream of playing on an nba team? Nowhere other than the real world. I wish game developers were more ambitious because 2k could EASILY be over taken by another developer if they weren’t scared to challenge the monopoly that the 2k franchise has become.

A few problems with your suggestions.
1. Many people, and I mean almost all, don’t like skill based matchmaking because no one wants to sweat every game. It’s the same problem with every casual game that puts it in. Unless a game/game mode is strictly competitive/ ranked it shouldn’t have sbmm.
2. Getting rid of micro transactions is just a no and will always be a no. Getting rid of the tedious ones like haircuts makes sense but saying to not allow people to spend money in their 2nd if not 1st most played mode is just silly. It’s a business and the goal of any business is to make as much money as possible.
3. Yeah they should make new interesting features. Nothing to say there, game gets boring with stale events and game modes.
They need to do something
2k is like the only game where you could have max 3pt stats and still miss 😂😂😂
