Judy Graubart in the Snowy Bleach commercial. Second City alum and probably best known for her work on The Electric Company. Also did a famous Miracle Whip commercial (Tomato, tomato, tomato...)
I love finding old school diaper commercials. I was wondering if anyone has any commercials of Kleenex Disposable diapers before Huggies came out? My sister was still indiapers at this time, and I think mom used either Luvs or Huggies. What a find!
I have oily acne-prone skin and I can't imagine what a mess it would become if I were to put Vaseline on it. :x Anyhow, these commercials aired a month before I was born. Pretty cool to see what TV looked like back then.
Correctal & Preparation H. It's the circle of Life I would have that Vaseling jingle as a ringtone if I could. It's pretty epic. Why doesn't Pillsbury just call the "Cookies & ice-cream arounds" ice-cream sandwiches?
Watching this made me think about something...I miss the hell out of voice overs during the credits at the end of a show! You would watch one show and then listen to what was coming on for the rest of the network line up for that night. Or you could find out about a special that was airing the next day. We didn't need 24 hour tv guide channels or info buttons on remotes. Hell we didn't even have remotes yet. We had to get up to change the channel! Sigh...simpler times. Simpler times indeed.
Now that I'm on a rant. What happened to jingles?! There were jingles for products and we knew them by heart. Juicy fruit, Double Mint, Folgers, Dr. Pepper, Pringles, Kit Kat, Almond Joy, etc. I can still recite them decades later. And theme songs? Well those are a thing of the past. I could recite the themes to my favorite shows all these years later as well. It was like they said,"We need more 7 minute commercial breaks. What to do? Let's cut out theme songs...no one will miss those." Yikes.

I was born in April 1981! Thank you!
I'm right with you. Commercials were better with jingles and a great theme song will get me to watch a show at least once

and the wife is Pearl from Diff'rent Strokes...she is the last housekeeper on the series.
I REALLY want that big box of Colgate
That Vaseline lady is creeping me out.
Product 19 is such a weird name for a cereal. Sounds more like a household cleaner or something.
It aired a month almost before I was born too

It's probably better, considering today's modern music.
I've never heard the pilsbury dough boy talk I guess he went mute for a while
The lady at the beginning of the Dynamo commercial said "worsh" instead of "wash", yikes!
#30SEVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!! Sorry, carryover from last one.
But Michael Vale returns on the Roach Motel ad.
Ah, 1981. Disco meets rock!
Wow the vaseline commercial was borderline porno.... awesome
Pretty much the Colgate store lol
I love my sister to death, but if I had hemorrhoids, I would not talk to her about it. LOL
"DO IT. ONCE A WEEK."
I fuckin' guffaw'd, given the position she was in XD
What a time to get hemorrhoids!
Holy cow... it's petroleum on a face... this is pure madness!
Yeah, I think that's kind of a mid-west thing..because my entire family does it.
Vaseline on the face is horrible!
