- A short film about a 1991 Volkswagen Vanagon aka Falkor the Luck Wagon. This van holds a special place in our hearts as it does for Amy McCool, Falkor's owner for the last 4 years. Follow her Instagram @IWanderWild

As a mechanic I've worked on several aircooled and watercooled Vanagons. If you keep up with the maintenance, they are awesome. The ride is superb.

Actually if you just put a Subaru engine like I have in 2 of mine , they become bulletproof. 👍

I would consider going with a stand alone ECU.
That's welcoming to hear from a person who just bought a watercooled 1.9 although it is lacking power on pick up. Subaru I have considered...

I always watch this video every time i am loosing grip of dreaming to live this kind of vanlife lifestyle here in the philippines..
I was suppose to start but pandemic hit and all my savings went to the drain...
but life goes on
I lived in my syncro for almost 2 years with my dog. I’m a doctor. I didn’t have to, I just liked it. I own 2 Syncros now including an original westfailia high top from Germany. I’m more settled now, but the dog and the vans are still at the center of my adventures. That looks like Wyoming. I hope you have a furnace. They make winter pretty nice.
What an inspiring story. Walking away from a life of luxury to be true to oneself. Everyone should be so brave. I'm still finding my courage. All the best to her.

I had an 84 vanagon and was a sea kayak guide and worked out of a outdoor retail shop. Did tons of rock climbing trips and kayak trips. I just loved it then life happened, but I'm glad to say I'm back in the market been looking for your exact model. 91 vanagon it's the last of the fun driving vws(eurovans stink) as far as I'm concerned. Great video and I'm happy u found what you were or are looking for. Happy Trails
