    What a bad ass backdrop! I’ve got a few deposits at various Denver dealerships to make sure I can get one of these. Just to share with your audience, I’m getting information saying the Pro will have 465 lb-ft of torque! Diesel kind of power, very cool. I’m hoping Toyota worked with various manufacturers to get after market suspensions in the works for these ahead of time. These trucks will share DNA with Hilux for the first time since 1995. Very exciting stuff!
    And I agree with you on the steering. My wife’s Rav4 has it and on long trips the driving fatigue is greatly reduced just knowing the vehicle can stay in its own lane. We will see how well that function works with 35s….
    I’m curious how electric will hold up offroad. Well done video!

      Thanks so much! 465 lb-ft would be insane!!!! Stop by the shop sometime :-)

      @@mtnyotas it’s always possible some of my information can be wrong, but he nailed the first week of April reveal almost 2 months in advance. 🤞!!!!
      I’ll stop by and talk shop sometime. I’m sure I’ll see you guys at the expos!

      hopefully not, Tundra has that on which means Toyota have to make sure Tacoma has less power than that or no one gonna buy Tundra😂

      I've been saying it's going to be a turbo due to them putting V6 turbos in the new models. All those people who doubted Tacoma having turbo due to them raising their "rigs" and making them heavy. "To late to go back, buddy. I like your heavy truck tho"

      It’ll be a turbo 2 cylinder 😅

  • @JoseGarcia-tr9mp
    @JoseGarcia-tr9mp ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Squeeze V6 power out of a 4 cylinder engine requires one to beat the heck out of it which in turn will lead to less reliability in the end. Will be interesting to see if those turbo 4 bangers will still be around in 20+ years with 350k+ miles like the current and past Toyota Tacoma's..

    • @mtnyotas
      @mtnyotas  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure if you’re right or wrong… I think the argument on the other side is that manufacturing technology and engineering has come an awful long way in the past 10 years, especially with motors. It will be interesting to see how they hold up long term… I’d be shocked if Toyota didn’t put something out that is able to hit 350k+ miles with basic maintenance.

    • @JoseGarcia-tr9mp
      @JoseGarcia-tr9mp ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mtnyotas Yes indeed it has come a long way and I do sincerely hope the best for the new Tacoma and especially for new Tacoma owners because they aren't exactly inexpensive trucks. But as an old gear head who's spent most of his life racing everything from nitro R/C trucks, to old school quads, motorcycles, and spent a lot of years building up off-road trucks, my experience has always been the same on this particular aspect of engines which is; if you want bigger engine power out of a smaller engine then you need to push it harder, and when you push it harder, it breaks faster. Smaller block, less pistons, making the same power= reduced longevity and reduced reliability. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

    • @frankleespeaking9519
      @frankleespeaking9519 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with you. Turbos run hot and that’s never good. I would rather have a normally aspirated v6

    • @JoseGarcia-tr9mp
      @JoseGarcia-tr9mp ปีที่แล้ว

    A 4 banger yuck. I'd rather get a ranger raptor for the money. 3.0 twin turbo engine, with rear and front e lockers. 60,000 grand for a 4 banger TRD pro Tacoma no way.

    • @mtnyotas
      @mtnyotas  ปีที่แล้ว

      They haven't confirmed anything on the drivetrain other than the teaser with "iForce MAX" in it... those only come in a V6 3.5 liter option at the moment, so we're hoping that's at least an option here. Either way, the 2.4 liter twin turbo hybrid is more horsepower and torque than the current Tacoma powertrain.

  • @induction7895
    @induction7895 ปีที่แล้ว

    First thing they take away leaf springs for road riding and then what, take away solid rear axle for even better ride, then remove the frame and make it unibody and we have a ridgeline in our hands. It’s just a slippery slope. Tacoma is not a real truck anyway, just a toy truck for city boys.
