Just wow! I have a hasta ascendent. Three years back I was severely depressed about my existence and why I was here, to do what. When I started connecting to nature, being more perceptive to everything around, I slowly started awakening to a higher purpose. My depression went away post divine inspiration.
I have Hasta in the first house in Jupiter and Saturn. It wasn’t until I was in my late 30’s I could break depression by paying attention to the smallest of details in life. Then I found an ample supply of joy. I slowed down and lived each minute instead of each day and the world expanded. For anyone who comes across this teacher right here, Pay Attention! He knows what he is teaching is gold! 🙏

Well sorry Vic, I get your explanation of this Nakshatra, but I do think it can be explained better. I have mercury and Venus in hasta. I am luckily born in India so identify with the concept of sunrise.
I think the keyword here is "prasav". English translation will mean childbirth delivery process. A woman experience the maximum pain possible in her life during labour pain. I read somewhere that the pain during childbirth is akin to all the pelvis bones being crushed. I don't know true or false, but if true imagine the pain. Maybe some women out there might comment for confirmation. But what you get afterwards is pure source of joy, a child. So, probably this Nakshatra means that you need to undertake pain to achieve your goals. Planets in hasta will probably give you pain first and then make you successful. Instead of "inspiration", I would use the term "pain or failure" over here.
Sunrise also signify the same thing. Sunrise comes after extreme darkness. So, success is guaranteed after failure.
Or coming alive (waking up) in the morning is given after death (sleeping).
Hands would also signify the same thing - working out of your problems.
I have mercury and Venus in hasta. I think mercury works great in hasta. I am very intelligent and brainy. I use my brain to think and make my business grow. Even if something doesn't work, I don't give up and try thinking and finding alternatives and eventually I win. My brain is constantly putting its effort in case things don't work out as planned, and it gives me success.
Venus was not good for me. I loved a girl dearly. She was the only love of my life. But I never put in any effort to show my love and affection to her. I considered showing affection as superficial. In fact she was the one to put her efforts continuously. So I never put any efforts (even though my intentions were good) and maybe thats why my Venus backfired. She married someone else all of a sudden and I was devastated. It was 18 years ago, I am still single. Can't imagine someone else in my life. But I have learned my lesson - if you love someone then show that love and affection. (work on it as hasta says)
So, I think planets which have the ability to fight and solve problems will give good results here, like mercury, Mars, saturn, etc. Planets which want ease and comfort like Venus might create problems in hasta. Ketu might cause detachment from the objective, weak moon might cause loss of concentration on objective, hence both negative. This is my personal opinion Vic.
You mentioned a great point in the end of seeing sunrise. I think it is more of getting inspiration rather than charging us with its light. We can see with our eyes that with sunshine, darkness is slowly going away. We need this inspiration to deal with our problems, work continuously on it (instead of getting depressed with our problems), and success will be ours.

not sure who is disagreeing. prasava does not literally mean "childbirth" - childbirth is just one of the implications. You see SAVitur and praSAVa are the same "sava" - it means energy, life, accuity, alertness, consciousness, sentience. Prasava means to bring to life, to inspire.

They have the intelligence, sharp minds but they outwitted by dumps in every sphere of life. Youngers find it difficult to get soulmates.

I have exactly the same, Mars retrograde in Hasta... does it feel to you like you are often trying to give birth but with great difficulty, or conversely, sometimes have great power to manifest or give birth, but that things seem to peter out easily?

Om Jham Hasta Nakshatrayai Namaha
A hasta nakshatra native can develop specialization in any one hand based skill like palmistry, Magic skills etc.
Hasta belongs to Vaishya caste hence it is good for business dealings.
Hasta’s ruling deity is Savitar , a solar diety , hence we can chant Gayatri mantra 108 times during Hasta nakshatra days.

Everything you said is SO true. I think your interpretation of Hasta goes much deeper than just superficial signification of its symbol, like I found in most descriptions on the net. This is so inspiring for me, as a Hasta Moon, that there is greater meaning to this nakshatra than simply 'craftsmanship' and 'manipulation'. I think this misunderstanding transcends into these nakshatra natives as well. Like, for example, I am naturally good at hand-made crafts, and I love to make idols/dolls of Hindu dieties using waste household items. Most percieve the latter as just another skill. But for me, these dolls are conserceted, with my imagination, with my life-source. That's why I can't monetise them. It just flows. Plus, I dream of becoming a consciousness researcher one day! My maasi is the only person in my family who I relate A lot to. Guess what? Her name is Savita! :)

Lana, Seen from the Sun, your 12th houselord (Sun) is in the Sun lagna. You may be too modest or too critical towards yourself. It can inspire you to meditate more on your true nature, for which you don't have to accomplish anything. Just to realise. By the light of the sunrise.

sensitivity to health is certainly a possibility with prasava and savitu. prasava can refer to breath and savitu to ayuṣa (vitality). Depends on the house the nak is in and the lord activating the nak, and the balance of factors in the rest of the chart.

I have Hasta pada 3 in Virgo Moon plus Asc, Pisces Sun. Also Rahu is on cusp of 4th and 5th house. Agree with inspiration being important. Correlate self with INFJ (sometimes INTJ), Enneagram 5 and 9, and ADHD.

Thank you Vic. I know u don’t place much weight on the (vrimshoterrai dasha) planetary triggers, but I do find this nakshatra to have strong lunar overtones. Stronger than the mercurial ones. Always interesting to compare it to Ashlesha, the mercurial-moon inversion, which almost always deals with chemicals,pharmacy,apocathary & alchemical things. Here, in hasta, ( I speculate) we have direct healing, through the hands, & perhaps bypassing the conduits of apocathary & linguistic mediums. What’s also interesting to me is that I’ve read about an association to widows for this nakshatra. Perhaps highlighting its lunar/feminine qualities (?). Just a few thoughts 😊👐👏 namaste 🙏
Hi Vic, I got a report from you last year and in it I have Saturn in Hasta, in the report it says Saturn is exhalted and that positive interpretations should be made about Saturn in hasta. Eg, being very good with the hands, patience and dexterity, etc. I literally just read that part of the report this morning and was surprised to find such conflicting information in this video. Can you help clarify this?
Inspiration by soul or mind or beauty i.e planets like sun Moon and Venus in airy or watery signs can overall give best of the results .

I have Moon in Hasta conjunct Pluto in Hasta ( 1 degree ) . I know Vedic Astrologers don't believe in outside planets , but I just can't ignore Pluto influence with the Moon .

How does Sun perform in Hasta?
I think that it is good for consciousness, perceptiveness, etc. But you have to also deal with the fact that it may have low dignity due to hasta now being in Libra

Saturn is dull, slow, dumb, fear and darkness and Savitur is bright, fast, intelligent, brave and the rising Sun. Savitur is the one who bring light of knowledge to destroy the darkness of ignorance. Saturn in Hasta will get qualities from Savitur to become quick, intelligent, brave, healer and Magician . Magician is a hard word to understand even for magician. Saturn in Hasta is the most beneficial thing for Saturn as well as for Hasta in my opinion. Saturn always look internally from where conciseness awake. Savitur works internally to awake conciseness. There is one secret behind Hasta working which is revealed in this sutra . Savitur need inspiration ( Jupiter, Venus ) to perform it's magic ( work). That means if Venus , Jupiter and Lagna lord are in good dignity planet In Hasta will perform brilliantly . It's hard to explain everything in comment section. I have so much to say about Saturn in Hasta that we can write a book on this topic. You can understand how Saturn in Krittika can perform brilliantly regardless their opposite qualities.
The fundamental operating principle is that synergy of symbolism indicates positive outcomes, but clash of symbolism indicates negative outcomes. Krittika is very hard and critical, and so is Saturn - therefore Saturn can have some positive implications there (not all, because there is still a clash between energy and lethargy). In Hasta where do you find the synergy?
Of course anything can give some positive outcome if we treat it the right way, or even if it has synergy overall with OTHER factors in the chart.
Thanks Vic for reply. Savitur starts from darkness ( Saturn) and bring light to finish that darkness. Saturn distract person from external world and teach reality which help person to understand himself and attain enlightenment. Savitur is the god of enlightenment. Saturn in Hasta will work together for enlightenment. Savitur and Saturn both closely related to psychology. So Saturn in Hasta will give person psychological knowledge. Savitur is the god enlightenment. Any planet in Hasta will get Power to enlight but as I said earlier Savitur need perception ( well positioned Lagna lord, Jupiter and Venus) and he will enlight any planet in Hasta whether it is Ketu or Saturn. But enlightenment will be in a different way for different planet. As I said it's hard to explain everything in comment section. After watching this I become more depressed.
After 16 years of devastating Jupiter(in Libra 6th) Maha Dasa my Saturn(in Virgo 5th & Conjunct Mars) Maha Dasa just started.
My Saturn is in Hasta.
And the Star Lord of Hasta Moon(Conjunct Venus) is in Gemini my 2nd House.
I had hope that I will rise in Saturn Maha Dasa.
But just gave up now as the video said that Saturn in Hasta is not good. :(

I respectful disagree with the idea that Darwinism is incorrect. As many accounts of people who have failed suicide attempts have mentioned deep regret at the moment they almost died. It's nature to survive even in the most adverse circumstances. People who strive for happiness have missed the point of life. God gives us life that we may enjoy all things, he doesn't give us all things that we may enjoy life. Life is the gift. We should be grateful that we are breathing as age is gift not given to many.
I think this nashaktra is to become a highly spiritual person (nun, priest, etc...) who only seek GOD (not material life). If you have it in moon, sun or ascendant 😊.

Men, singers worship Savitr with hymn and holy rites
The prefix : Oṃ bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ ॐ भूर्भुवस्वः, is a formula taken from the Yajurveda
Om - King Mantra ( of Sri Yantra geometry )
bhū "earth"prithvi
bhuvas "atmosphere"antariksha
svar "light" beyond antariksha
Gayatri Mantra is also known as the Savitri Mantra. Savitri is the mother of Prana (Life Force). OR the grace of the divine responsible for creation of the universe
Savitr in Vedas means Ultimate Creative Source OR the stimulator, rouser, vivifying power ,mother of all the lights.
What you have given does not say that savitur is not the sun. It says, however, that the sun is analog to divine consciousness.
