150 billion for Ukraine.... Every time I hear about a financial loss in the United States, my first thought is 150 billion for Ukraine. Absolute insanity.
Don’t forget the other country that has a religious book that permits them to do all kinds of evil, & hides behind the title of “chosen”
Most of that is spent on purchasing supplies and equipment from the US, so it's not like they just handed them a bag.
I totally do, too; that kinda money is absolutely mind-blowing! That's like every single American paying almost $500 towards their war. 🤯
Absolutely right is a joke.
Yep and in the democrat pockets!
Im old enough to remember when stealing actually was a crime.
I'm old enough to remember the 5c & dime store
Oh god. Go steal then see if you dont go to jail. And are you saying police aint doing there jobs?
It still is. The amount of rime is overwhelming and LE just cannot keep up with it.
I'm old enough to remember getting an ass whooping by mom and dad for even thinking about stealing, actually all I had to do was ask my parents for stuff like candies or the toys at the grocery stores
Biden’s America makes crime legitimate!
The goal of a retirement plan is to accumulate enough savings to maintain a desired standard of living during retirement, covering expenses such as housing, healthcare, and leisure activities, without relying solely on Social Security benefits or other forms of income. I'm lucky to have heed to Advice of my FA.
Certainly! A retirement plan is a critical component of financial planning, ensuring individuals can maintain their desired lifestyle and financial security during their retirement years.

This makes you think about how external factors like crime and inflation can really impact businesses, even ones as big as $.99 Cents Stores.
And let's not forget the impact of crime. Not only does it directly affect the safety of customers and employees, but it also adds additional costs for security measures, further squeezing already tight margins.
It's a tough situation all around. With inflation eating into profits and crime increasing operational expenses, it's no wonder they're facing such significant challenges.
Perhaps they could have diversified their revenue streams or invested more heavily in technology to improve efficiency and security measures.
Seeking advice from financial experts could have provided them with strategies to better navigate these turbulent economic times.
A firm like Folmar Advisory could have offered insights into how to adapt their business model to better withstand the impacts of inflation and crime, ultimately helping them mitigate losses and sustain profitability.
Imagine a store you can steal 900 items from and not be charged.
It’s the .99 cent store its only a misdemeanor if it’s under 1000$ stolwn

@@Zambobazle That’s the point of the original post.
Sears did not get as much headline as 99 cents store closure and bankruptcy. The reason is because this is symbolic of the true economic situation in the US and what the cabal has always waged economic warfare on the poor and middle class. Socialism for the rich, but social darwinist capitalism for the poor.
One time I actually saw the police stop someone but guess what? They just counted the items! I guess it wasn’t more than $900 because they let the guy go 🫠
I literally LIVED off of that store when I lived in Burbank. So sad. So many of us did.
Burbank was stocked with good stuff.
Still do
Nice city in S. California . Hope it stays that way ... 😊👌
If you still live in Cali and required to "live" off the dollar stores, don't you think it's time to move out of state? We are hurting financially all over this once great country, but I'll bet you a dollar it's far worse in California than it is in, let's say Louisiana... I'm not pretending to have all the answers here, I'm just trying to raise talking points.
Burbank here , use to be a clean city and now it’s getting like north Hollywood
Shoplifting hurts us all.
This is what you get when you normalize and worship criminals!!!
This is by design. Wake up. Awareness buys you time, time buys you options - until it doesn’t. Stay awake, aware, and prepared.
SO sad. When my wife and I were raising two kids and taking care of her elderly mom on a youth pastor pay, we ate countless meals on killer deals from that chain that cost us just five bucks or so. Hundreds of thousands of poor people are gonna have more trouble feeding their families now.
The US gov't killed these stores. Without the 25% tariffs on Made in China, these companies would have a 25% profit margin, it is NOT theft and inflation, but the tariff on China that killed these stores. Chinese workers also lose jobs
You can sell your private jet and help
Dems love it
Not to worry - the 'Hod and El Barrio guys will just seal more.
That's exactly the point. One side of the political spectrum LOVES it when people struggle because struggling people vote for the people who say they're going to give them this or that. They don't deliver on those promises, but that doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is garnering votes based on those promises. The politicians keep obtaining power and making money, while the struggling people keep voting for empty promises. It's a sick, endless cycle that naive and uninformed people will continue to fall victim to.
That theft rate is shameful
The US gov't killed these stores. Without the 25% tariffs on Made in China, these companies would have a 25% profit margin, it is NOT theft and inflation, but the tariff on China that killed these stores.
Yes it is . But the government is stealing as well both parties so if the head is not right the bottom is not right.

The reason is because this is symbolic of the true economic situation in the US and what the cabal has always waged economic warfare on the poor and middle class. Socialism for the rich, but social darwinist capitalism for the poor. Propaganda from right wing pundits.
Who in the heck is stealing from the dollar store ? They will get nothing for their efforts, when they re-sale it. Strange eh ?
@albertawheat6832 yeah good point. That's how hard the chain store was being hit. Margins are no doubt tight and the degenerates have to steal loads to make anything
I'm gonna miss the 99c store. That store helped me raise my 3 children as a single mom. My heart goes out to the hundred of thousands of folk that survived by buying their meals and sundries there. Hopefully someone will create a new lowcost store for us.
Thanks for covering this...
We Are in Unchartered Financial Waters! every day we encounter challenges that have become the new standard. Although we previously perceived it as a crisis, we now acknowledge it as the new normal and must adapt accordingly. Given the current economic difficulties that the country is experiencing in 2024, how can we enhance our earnings during this period of adjustment? I cannot let my $680,000 savings vanish after putting in so much effort to accumulate them.
Keeping some gold is usually a wise decision. You would be better off keeping away from equities for a bit or, even better, seeking advice from an expert given the current market conditions and everything that is at risk with the current economy.
You have a very valid point, I started investing on my own and for a long time, the market was really ripping me off. I decided to hire a CFA, even though I was skeptical at first, and I beat the market by more than 9%. I thought it was a fluke until it happened two years in a row, and so I’ve been sticking to investing via an analyst
Could you possibly recommend a CFA you've consulted with?
My CFA ’Melissa Terri Swayne’ , a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further. She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market.
Thank you for saving me hours of back and forth investigation into the markets. I simply copied and pasted her full name into my browser, and her website came up first in search results. She looks flawless.
Here in Japan, the ¥100 or $1 stores need to constantly innovate. They have $3 sections and $5 section, but the key market is ¥100 which with todays exchange rate is $1.50. They are amazingly good, but they do not have any shoplifting, theft, or social mob issues. The business model is sound in Asia, but shoplifters go to jail when convicted. This is social issue, not a profitability issue.
Not yet .
What exactly is "amazingly good" about the dollar stores in japan?
Id like to hear all about them from you
True that! This is one effed up administration !
You got that backwards. $1usd is about 150yen so 100 yen is about 0.66 USD.
99% conviction rate is the best policy.
Who the hell is doing flash mob robberies for 99 cent stores. This is a new low
It's not about need. It's about destroying what others have.

Too many, if not all, black pastorsI have seen have complained loudly about the loss of these stores in their neighborhood but NOT one of these pastors will stand guard at the store's door and deny their 'people' the right to steal.
99 Cent are one of the FEW stores that sell fresh fruits and veggies in the hood. These same people complain about “food deserts”, but drive businesses away with higher minimum wages and rampant theft. I don’t have sympathy for these jerks any more.
@@desolder75 Exactly. This is an education problem. If you want to fix the hood if it is even possible cause blacks are not the only race that has a hood. It is about having means and pushing for education for better jobs. People want the community to work together but our leaders do not even work together for the better of this country and humanity in general.
They do the same thing in Africa. As soon as a hospital is stocked with supplies it gets looted. Then they wonder why the healthcare sucks. Humans have flourished due to our ability to cooperate in large groups. Lesser species, such as chimps, operate in small tribes and lack the ability to think ahead. Imagine 1,000 chimps locked in a stadium? It would be mayhem. Violence, theft, etc. Think the Superdome during hurricane Katrina. Some people just can't function in a civilized society.
Not a Pastor's job dude.
I remember people arguing when I told them it couldn’t be 99 cents only forever.
They had on their wall “Nothing over 99 cents EVER”.
Five and dime stores used to be ubiquitous. They became 5 and 10 dollar stores because of inflation. Still didn’t save them from bankruptcy, and now such stores are very rare.
At least the Dollar Tree is now the $1.25 🌳. They now have a + section with $3-5 items because they’re losing money. I go to Five Below and they actually have decent stuff. (I thought it was a sub-zero winter store when I first heard of it!😊)
What are you talking about? They started selling stuff over 99 cents like 8 years ago.
I love Tom because you can tell there's a rage that's constantly bubbling under the surface that he's struggling to maintain.
Soon, it will be called 5 Dollar Store !
5 below
if a big mac is $18, it might turn into $99 store.
Yeah, they're called Dollar General.
1.25 to 1.50 dollar store
Or parking lot. Then they don't have to give you anything.
There is no prosecution any more for retail theft. Its a free for all. I dont see how any Business can operate with a forced $20/wage and rampant theft.
I called it a while back... stores are going to switch to online only and you won't even be able to walk into a store. don't have to pay cashiers, don't have to lease property, don't have to get the product shipped from the distribution warehouse to the stores. they would save massive amounts of money... never mind what they save from shoplifters being stopped.
This is a tragedy. We have to stop these people in power.

The solution is simple. Don't vote for soft on crime Democrats. But, the people that are affected the most, keep voting for Democrats.
It's a tra-gig-ity.
Gigity.
The actual "tragedy" started after WW2 and the military industrial complex. We the people had no clue until this issue started rearing it's ugly head over 30 years ago, visible to anybody paying attention.

In the UK, the £1 stores, are called the same, but everything is £2

Temu! An important thing to note. Temu has taken the ‘hit or miss’ item availability issue with these dollar stores out and often offers items for cheaper. They are buying up our land. They are coming for our auto industry. We need to be self reliant.
My ex- husband was an assistant manager with K-Mart. The manager of the store was selling pallets of products to the black market. I couldn’t believe it. And corporate thought this idiot…but come to find out? The regional manager was in on it too. I made him quit.

The $20 minimum wage in California only applies to fast food restaurants. Those workers at the 99 Cent Store didn't get an increase.

Told my youngest adult daughter about this and her first response was "mom, what's going to happen to those who can't afford regular grocery stores"? I am bias of course but we need more people like her. Glad to see the CEO of Pick and Save trying to do something about it.
Tell her the truth: they eat at McDonalds.
Unlikely that the former CEO of Big Lots Mark Miller will be able to raise the money from banks, venture capital, hedge funds or private investors. 99 cent stores was sold to a private equity firm in 2011 for $1.6 billion so in 2024 it would probably take at least $400 million just to buy the California stores plus $100 million to operate them in the first year, but that's not even looking at the debt which could kill any deal. To raise that money would be impossible in a business environment where no one wants to fund brick & mortar retail, too many have failed in the last three years due to high inflation, supply chain problems, gigantic shoplifting.

After 2020, I noticed I wouldn't go to a 99 cent store without seeing robberies every time. These stores were able to survive other instances of inflation. I suspect the mention of inflation is to cover the fact that these stores were being robbed into bankruptcy. Their small margins can not absorb rampant theft.
High lease too
Inflation probably contributes to higher thefts, but inflation is the primary problem they are facing, customers can't find a good deal at their stores ant longer, they go elsewhere, and their rents increase, and with the recession we have been in for the last 2-3 years, people are just spending less.

If we increase the competition of big business it will force big businesses to reduce the price to avoid losing market share. The solution is competition.
@@honestfriend767 the federal reserve causes inflation, not private businesses.
The ship is sinking and folks are fighting over first class seats...LMAO
Canadian here from the North. KFC in the 90s use to offer toonie tuesday. $2 for 2 piece chicken and fries. They had to rebrand a decade ago because of inflation. Now that Tuesday special is now $4.50 plus tax
My family was in 62nd and Vermont in south central Los Angeles and we had to close sell after covid. Many issues. I would work everyday.Go buy produce in downtown Los Angeles at 3 in the morning. Then go to Jethro to purchase sodas. Then go to j c sales to purchase single items that I would be able to sell for 1.25. 1.50 or 1.00 At one point before covid I had two employees and I was able to pay them but never made any real profit.
This is why we can't have nice things!
Those stores were hideous and always looked like they had the cheapest most toxic made in sweatshop factory products and some things were more expensive than big lots..
His dad was a cashier for 15 year!!
That's crazy. 15 years as a cashier
That’s a shame.
Do not despise your small beginnings
@@peterlona7835exactly. Better than robbing the store..
And he was the Republican in the family...smh
@@EricJGonzalez what does that have to do with anything?
They haven’t been called the .99 only for a very long time.
It's a store title.
@OutWestRedDirt no it isn't. They are called "The 99" and changed their name a long time ago
Dollar stores have always been my go to for party favors decorations and holidays. making little gift bags for kids class room etc. i know that where a lot of other moms i know go to for same things. plus if you want cheap containers for like organize and craft projects too
I'm from the 818 also. Great to see all you've done. Take over 99cent stores help the poor and honor your father and the years he invested. It'll be a great blessing to millions.
I saw a store here to close in a few days in Houston
They close in June per employee
I remember the 5 and dime store turned into the 88cent store.
Pat telling this great story about his father and a woman that knew his father personally is heart warming. Especially the part where he used that to ripp her off and sell her on MLM 🤣
I live by the 99 cent store next to LACMA and the amount of crime at that store since the pandemic has been insane…not surprised they went out of business due to theft.
F.. liberalism
But Joe says the economy is doing great!
In the 1930's they were called five and dimes. They could bring back the same, just dollars instead of cents.
The back of the delivery trucks of the 99 Cent Stores trailers have a quote "driver only carries 99 cents"
My mother loved the .99 cent store. When my kids were little, she would take them to the store and they could buy whaterever they wanted. The .99 cent store had 2 locations dierctly across ffom either 2 stores on La Tijera blvd just north of the 405. My mom passed in 2013 and I know her heart is broken over this.
