Have you seen the new 2 series? Angel eyes are gone.
Well it’s a $3000+ option for the laser lights so I can see why some people won’t get it lol. Either way I think it should come standard smh. The angel eye part is literally just the DRL and has nothing to do with the lasers.
Really love the new ''angular'' ones. Such a Modern aesthetic, makes the old ones look - well, just old like an old man's specs lol.
Completely get how he felt the RS5 felt more stable at high speed, it’s something I have always noticed that separates RS Audis from M BMWs, very Beemer I have had would wander as if the rubber size was too wide for the rims and this continues with my current M5.
I hate how fanboys have to say their brand is better than the other, these are two completely different animals and yet their respective performance figures aren’t a million miles apart, simply choose which appeals to you most... what could be simpler.
Now you my guy are a true Car Guy
FWD platforms as a whole are more 'stable' at speed due to the front wheels' tendency to straighten when power is applied. Having said that, my E92, which has a proper 50:50 balance unlike the front-bias of modern BMWs, has never once 'wandered' at speed. Sounds like your M5 may have an underlying issue.
@@gw7624 my first M car was an E92 M3 and yes it too would move about a little bit on motorways. The M5 is the current model so AWD it’s the least affected of all.
@@gw7624 the RS5 is more rear wheel drive than FWD. it has the best version of Quattro unlike the TT-RS and RS3.

RS5 sportback for me in nardo grey or dark blue. I dont care how good drives the BMW the audi is beautifull, comfy sporty enought. The lights on the Audi are next level. If you want the best driving car in this segment get the giulia QV its a true RWD sport sedan and its much cheaper than the M3/M4. For every day get the RS5 or RS5 sportback.

Seemed to me that the BMW engine had more aggressive response than the Audi. A beast. However, I would go with the more conservative RS5. Less shouty

Thanks guys @ Autogefuhl! I really look forward to these types of comparisons! The equally paired upper sports coupes are so difficult to attain @ the same time! If these were the "mid" level of sports coupes...I'd take the M440 over the S5. However this all changes with these top spec'ed models. The RS 5 gets the nod today. That too may change if the M4 was in the all wheel drive configuration! THAT would be a spectacular comparison to be sure!

I have happily been driving Audis for 20 years, so I would go for the RS5. But I think that the design of the M4 are absolutely awesome, making it one of the most beautiful cars in the market

@@autogefuehl Hey Thomas, I don't quite understand your comments regarding the steering on the BMW and you have also done this previously with the 330i. I have a G20 330i M Sport and cannot fault the steering.

Great job BMW and Audi for still keeping quality physical controls alongside the touchscreens.
Especially Audi who made a natural evolution of climate control by improving the LCD information.
Simple to read settings (white on black) with useful information.
I would only wish for getting manual transmission. Yes the automatic is faster and lasier but there is no satisfaction you get from manual shifting into gears.
Looks like Thomas is having lots of fun driving that BMW G82 M4 510 HP..... Thomas turned in my built to the Los Angeles Dealerships this weekend. Outstanding video by Thomas the great!
M4. I don't need a perfect car but the car with a soul and I think the BMW has more of it.

I completely agree with you - give me actual physical knobs for climate control. I wish Audi still had the control wheel for the infotainment screen, so you do not have to always use the touch screen - eyes on the road (safety first as you like to say).

how is the DRC? I had the 21' RS5 with the fixed sport suspension, and hated how bouncy it was. got rid of it after 9 months. looking to get back in one with DRC, hopping it will be much better over crappy roads.
@@stealthhtm23 honestly, it still bounces around. I will be addressing that a a couple other issues in a few months.

Used to love watching these 2 battle it out in the DTM along with the C63. Definitely one of my favorite segments of cars, and I prefer the RS5 for sure.

For the average person not taking this car to the track, I'd be happy with either! Leaning towards the RS5 as I already own a X3m40i so want something with a different look.
The carbon fiber piece on the M4 seat is for the 3-point racing harness
The BMW grill is growing in me. As a owner of a 2018 rs5 I must admit that looks pretty good lol

Except there won't be another RS5 coupe. This is the last generation.
my eyesite is better while i'm younger so i'll pick the audi with a much better looking exterior than the M4 with that front grill.

@@ushittyuglylc5037 This B9.5 generation is the last A5/S5/RS5 coupe. The next generation (B10) there will be no more coupes. People aren't buying enough coupes.
The Audi wins the looks comparison. The blue BMW color is better than the Audi green. Obviously I can't drive them back to back, but based on looks alone, the Audi wins. Bugs Bunny belongs in cartoons not on expensive car grills. Great comparison Thomas. I will add, the Walter DeSilva designed S5 from a few years ago looks much better than this new RS5 design.
Audi is available in a beutiful blue but best in Nardo Gray with Black Optics package.
Correct. Both coupe and Sporback are avsilable in a very similar blue. I chose the blue for my S5 Sportback (my preferred “Long Ranger” road trip car) and the Nardo Gray with black optics for my RS5 coupe (my “Wild Bill Hickock” mountain road rally car club car).. Took a long time until I could afford these beauties, but worth the wait!

You’re the first reviewer I’ve seen that said the m4 steering is not good. Everybody else says its direct and lots of grip/confidence.
Would go for the RS5. Better interior quality. AWD for everyday drive. And looks better in my opinion. I mean why should I get a M4 for weekends if I could get a 911 lol
have you sat in an G80/82? The interior quality is the best on the market, miles better than Audi. AWD why? Even in Finland we rather drive RWD.

Is it possible that the m4 has some toe-out? Usually track cars have this for better turn in at the expense of tire wear. It might be possible to give it an alignment for 0 degree toe to make it feel more stable

I'm still driving my 08 128i coupe' 3.0l and I'm loving my hydraulic power assist steering. The EPS systems don't appeal to me (after driving a few late model 3 series). Gimme the road feel!

What you call loose steering on M4 for most people that makes it less nervous, especially at high speeds!!!

I chose the RS5 for the reasons you stated. It is an extremely capable car and I feel safer knowing I have quattro. The M4 is probably a better drivers car on a track or when really pushing it, but most people use their car everyday for normal driving so the RS5 wins in my opinion

I love my new 2023 RS5 coupe...standard version in glacier white...but every option ticked except carbon roof, ceramics & auto parking system. List price, just under £85k. The self-driving traffic jam assist is hilarious...stops a bit too suddenly & too far away from the car in front to be really smooth - you definitely get the impression that the guy behind you is cussing your driving style in stop/start traffic. 😁 Always get tons of thumbs-up from other petrol heads though.
The seatbelt feature is already in the 4 series of bmw
The RS5 looks so aggressive with that styling!
