Our stainless steel Vitamix container blade lasted 3 years and is “NOT” removable from factory, beware! It was out of warranty by 2 1/2 months. My wife spoke to rep and manager and they apologized and said we have to buy another container for nearly $200, ouch!
The 48-ounce stainless steel container is said to be compatible with “all full-size Vitamix blenders”. See: www.vitamix.com/us/en_us/shop/accessories/48-ounce-stainless-steel-container That appears to include (but is not necessarily limited to) the Ascent series, the Explorian series, and “Legacy” blenders with the specific Legacy blenders found on this page: www.vitamix.com/us/en_us/shop/classic-blenders My personal model is the A2300 (Ascent series) and the Stainless Steel container works fine on it. There is also an Ascent Series model (the A3500) that comes with a stainless steel container as standard found here: www.vitamix.com/us/en_us/shop/a3500-with-stainless-steel-container Note: I do NOT work for Vitamix nor am I associated with Vitamix in anyway. I am just an ordinary consumer who happened to purchase one of their products. All the information I am conveying I found on the above-mentioned websites.
Yes, Joey Burke (commenter above) is correct. The 48-ounce stainless steel container is said to be compatible with “all full-size Vitamix blenders”.
