I was there when Dontrelle Willis hit one for the Marlins against the Mets. I wanted go jump off the 2nd deck, i could only imagine what the pitcher felt
I saw dontrelle willis hit a granny at shea stadium once... a no doubter to straight away right.. you almost have to applaud the other pitcher when it happens.
1:46 Felix Hernandez (Mariners pitcher) hits a grand slam in Shea Stadium off Johan Santana on June 2008 at Shea Stadium Fellow countryman of Venezuela, both won Cy Youngs in their career Ill always remember the Mets TV gamecall of this grand slam, when they said "They are dancing in the streets of Caracas" Ironically, this was not be the only time in the 2008 season that Mets starting pitching allowed a grand slam in Shea Stadium to a pitcher = On September 22, Mets rookie September callup, Jon Niese, allowed a grand slam to Jason Marquis of the Cubs And just to add = In the 2006 season at Shea, Marlins pitcher Dontrelle Willis hit a grand slam of Jose Lima, who was starting for the Mets
There was a time when it was not really a big deal for a pitcher a home run. Pitchers of both leagues batted regularly. Some pictures were just as dangerous at the plate as they were on the mound. Back in the day, most pictures at least took a little bit of batting practice. The idiotic designated hitter rule really dumbed down the game of baseball.
Tom Seaver was considered a good hitting pitcher wasn’t he? Yet in 20 years he hit a total of 5 home runs while only hitting .154. A legitimately decent hitter was Don Newcombe. He hit a respectable .271 for his career with 15 homers. In 4 of his 10 seasons, he hit 0 though. It was not commonplace. He was also a below average hitter with an 85 wRC+ (100 is average). There was no time when pitchers hitting home runs at the same rate as other hitters was normal except for the dead ball era and Babe Ruth. And I don’t think you were alive then, Onnie.
It has to be demoralizing as a pitcher to give up a grand slam to a another pitcher.

I could imagine it's the worst feeling a pitcher could ever feel
0:24 "The last Reds Pitcher to..." 0:26 "A DRIVE... LEFT FIELD......"
Now we need hitters pitching and getting the Win 😎
“hitters” are just normal players, they almost always play a position
Omitting the fact that Dave McNally hit his grand slam during the World Series is a bit of a misstep. As he is only one to pull that amazing feat off
Correct, I was going to make that comment till i saw yours
@@deansapp4635 Thanks..
Do pitchers hitting walk offs
*A segment of the Home Run Derby where it's pitchers only*
Pitchers at bat don't pause to admire the home run. They just leg it.

You should do a video of relief pitchers hitting
And this was done before Huascar Ynoa of the Braves crushed a grand slam against the Nationals
its probably the rarest thing ever if an AMERICAN league pitcher hits a walk off grand slam to win the World Series! # legendary
With 2 outs
@@rays4life827 oh yea
@Trash_Panda Heck yea
Probably because 99% of the time he would be removed for a pinch hitter 😂
Dave McNally..Baltimore Orioles October 13, 1970 World Series Game 3
Time to add one more 😌
Ynoa!!
Did Babe Ruth hit one when he was a pitcher?
Phillies pitcher Robert Person hit a grand slam against the Montreal Expos.
Plays that don’t show up on the stat sheet!
Too bad there's no footage of Tony Cloninger hitting TWO in one game, 9 RBIs in 1965!!
It was in 1966. There were no Braves in Atlanta in 1965.
july 3 1966
This is why the National League is the best league!
That’s insane
How do you not get copyrighted? I just had to delete 300 of my baseball type vids because of copyright and 2 strikes

It’s amazing how they are mostly NL pitchers.🤷🏻♂️😬
Ya because the pitchers don’t bat in the American League

Back in the day, most "pictures" were black and white. Stupid modern colorized television.
