Would you consider doing a slower console friendly no mods needed version of this build ? Obviously it wont look as intricate but just the general shape and dimensions with your own added flair.
So I am on a pve server and with the new map release we wanted to kind of combine forces I saw this build and said yeah that would be great for a larger group with space and yet looks cool. But I am a bit slow and not great at building. Do u have a slower how to build maybe on this? I know that could be a really long video so if not I understand.
Just got the steam version on sale, I stopped playing the epic version after about 700 hrs. Im just getting back again and joined a pve server with ckfr mod and Im excited to try building again! Im rewatching your build for inspiration.

Extremely nice build my man. love how you used castle keeps and forts for the build it looks really good especially like those overhangs on the roof. the interior seems very spacy which is nice, the detailing on the outside of build makes for some great depth on the build. good choice on the Muntin glass tells that you put some thought into the windows. the ECO mod looks really nice and is a great mod to match with CKAF. i have also attempted to make roofs with space for flyers but i now know why it didnt work out unlike your build mine was too small to fit them. the castle is very well made and i imagine a dock would look great with it as well
Hey Atheon, a dock would be a great addition to this base that's a good idea :) I think those accents and arch sections made a huge difference like you said, it brakes up the flat walls but also each level and looks like the extra stonework is supporting the structure. I can not falt eco mods I could have spent another 6 hours decorating the place with ivy vines, gardens picture galleries and even more interior rooms and it would have looked amazing; sadly there is only so much the game can cope with in one area :) Glad you like it man always appreciate the feed back :)
If I get some time I will make a slower video and add the dimensions of the build-in. I was also thinking of making a post on my discord with some pic and of the build and add all the hights and such to that so people can see the speed builds and small tours and then have the discord posts as a reference. That would give me the time to make more videos, spend more time building and still help people recreate the builds. A speed build I can edit in a few hours but a full tutorial can take anywhere from 2 to 4 days to add all the descriptions and things.
How did you reduce fps lag when trying to place furniture in such a large base? Trying to decorate the interior of this build has been tough due to fps dipping to 10 whenever I try to place furniture.

I found a 3D image of the castle , which allows me to build the exterior , and I have not finished the work , because it requires a lot of time between analysis and design with the CKFR mod ... I really like what you do , continue like this .
Hey Brayus there is this program:apps.mathlearningcenter.org/pattern-shapes/ Really simple block set but you can plan the foundation and wall layouts of your builds, it might make it easier to figure out the dimensions and adjust them for Ark structures
Me following along even with the video speed slowed down praying I didn't count wrong 🤯 Love this build just wish it had some pauses for dimensions because even with speed slowed its fast.
Next question, im struggling to find the fire places you have used, they look ace. The Chimneys extend through the roof, Doesnt seem to be in the ECO packs, any ideas? Thanks buddy.

I think I was right on the edge of killing the fps with this base

@@UknRadio You can use the video setting on TH-cam and slow it down might help :) I had like 6 hours of footage, would take a lot re-edit and upload in normal speed
Building this in non-creative. Had to slow the video down to the slowest speed to follow it. Besides gathering the material, this is really fun to build.
I would like to do a proper tutorial but the recording took like 14 hours and a full tutorial would be about 5 hours long :) I know some people wouldn't mind but it would just take to long

I can not built well at all. I am gonna sound like a little kid here, but. Could you build a Hogwarts? Could you have Wyverns, Unicorns, fantasy creatures? I would live to see that.
Excellent build, But just imagine having to do it in survival alone with collecting all the resources and then building it and lets not forget furnishing it/collecting the resources for the furnishings, you would need a small community or do nothing but play ark day and night(I think this could be referred to all your other epic builds as well), but I guess if you had resource gathering turned up and had the proper gathering dinos it might lesson the time it might take.
It's not THAT bad. But if you are modding your game, mod it good. S+ and stack mod gives near unlimited possibilities. You can literally gather like 10k stone/metal/whatever and transport it into your crafting station with a mere few clicks and bang you are done. Easy mode. The not modded builds are more interesting in that aspect, since if you are building them on for example console, you don't have mods in the first place. :D
@@Nighthunter6666 The only times i really use S+ is for my farms(making farms is always my main focus of play for some reason) and i have yet to try any stacking mods might have to try one somtime.
@@johnnormington1311 Stack mods are good I still use ultra stacks, like Frozenstine said they make production and inventory so much easier to manage. I have not had to farm for a while now but I did play solo and still build some epic bases. The REFUGE base I built was all solo farmed and built on a pve server took me months, one of the early videos I made for the Old Community Crunch competition on the Ark Forums. I used to go farming with 2x Doedicurus 2x Anky 2x Castroides a Rock Elemental sometimes as they are good for collecting wood and stone at the same time if you have a good spot to farm. I would also take a couple of Paracer and build all the structures while I was out farming and fill the paracers with walls and foundations everything I needed, that way I could stay out farming for longer and I could empty the farming dinos inventories a few times to build the structures before I head back.
Yeah I made a video about that a while back, my voice is not very entertaining but I explain where each spot is and how much you can build :) I have made big flat spot area videos for most of the maps and a few best places to build ones as well
Oh cool :) How did I do? I read up about it and looked at a lot of pics think I may have missed a couple of roof bay windows out but some of the pics I had are when it is covered in Ivy :) It is a really amazing place and a beautiful part of the world

Can this be done the same way with the CFK and not the remastered? Only curious because CFK you can change the color of the walls and CFKR you cannot

I'm currently doing a non modded version of this same castle
Excellent build, But just imagine having to do it in survival alone with collecting all the resources and then building it and lets not forget furnishing it/collecting the resources for the furnishings, you would need a small community or do nothing but play ark day and night(I think this could be referred to all your other epic builds as well), but I guess if you had resource gathering turned up and had the proper gathering dinos it might lesson the time it might take.
It's not THAT bad. But if you are modding your game, mod it good. S+ and stack mod gives near unlimited possibilities. You can literally gather like 10k stone/metal/whatever and transport it into your crafting station with a mere few clicks and bang you are done. Easy mode.
The not modded builds are more interesting in that aspect, since if you are building them on for example console, you don't have mods in the first place. :D
@@Nighthunter6666 The only times i really use S+ is for my farms(making farms is always my main focus of play for some reason) and i have yet to try any stacking mods might have to try one somtime.
@@johnnormington1311 Stack mods are good I still use ultra stacks, like Frozenstine said they make production and inventory so much easier to manage.
I have not had to farm for a while now but I did play solo and still build some epic bases. The REFUGE base I built was all solo farmed and built on a pve server took me months, one of the early videos I made for the Old Community Crunch competition on the Ark Forums.
I used to go farming with 2x Doedicurus 2x Anky 2x Castroides a Rock Elemental sometimes as they are good for collecting wood and stone at the same time if you have a good spot to farm.
I would also take a couple of Paracer and build all the structures while I was out farming and fill the paracers with walls and foundations everything I needed, that way I could stay out farming for longer and I could empty the farming dinos inventories a few times to build the structures before I head back.

Yeah I made a video about that a while back, my voice is not very entertaining but I explain where each spot is and how much you can build :) I have made big flat spot area videos for most of the maps and a few best places to build ones as well
