Really liking your videos! 👍 Not long being retired and recovering from my 2nd total knee, I’m looking to buy a trike. I’m leaning toward the sunseeker fat tad. Are you still happy with yours? I’m slightly concerned with all the posts about burning through the tires, but I have been encouraged by your video on the tie rod adjustments. Do you ever ride yours at 20 mph on pavement? I’m not one to ride fast but might get up to 20 mph and I would like to know how it handles. I also thought of putting a 26 rear tire on it but I’m not real sure about the extra plates/adaptors that have to be used to accomplish it. 🤷🏻♂️
When the towin is adjusted correctly, the tires do not wear any more than a regular skinny tire trike. We both had skinny, no suspension trikes before these. No going back. I adjust the tire pressure according to the ride we are on. It can be several times on one ride. We ride on gravel or off-road trails much of the time. They will coast down a hill over 30 mph, but there is the chance of the wobble of death at the higher speeds. The steering dampner solved that problem. Yes, we still like our rolling recliners. If you are staying on hard surfaces, stick with a skinny tire full suspension trike. At 20 mph, the 4 inch wide fat tires stir up a lot of air and add to your rolling resistance.
I’m 6’1” 250#. I’ve read where the limit is 300#. After adding bags and stuff I’m a little concerned I might go over the limit. I wonder where the weak spots are on the frame. A friend of mine is an excellent welder, we might be able to reinforce it? What are your thoughts/experiences with fenders? Sorry for all the questions, just want to make the best decisions. Thanks for your responses!

Thank you I may try to fit that journey rack to my trike. I have narrowed it down to the sunseeker fat tad and the catrike max. I’m 6’1” 255 and worried that I might need to go with the Max. The sunseeker looks like it fits you well.

Is that rack above the back tire the heavy duty CXS rack or a custom rack that comes with the fender?
