- A wireless remote switch can be the answer to a lot of needs for simple wiring a switch and use a remote button for operation. In a car this will be great no drilling holes to mount a button, remote button can be handy by sticking to dash with Velcro or however.

Good morning I have a question about we use a 12v Dc 3way ball valve model 344E 3/4" that same 12v Dc remote control 433hz it was working fine for along time now it won't turn the Ball value back and forth to each different side but I have tested the tejet Ball value with a 12volt batter and it works fine 3wires red black and white the white is the alternative for turning the ball to each different side of the tejet 3way Ball value but won't turn with wireless remote control?? Any feedback from you I will appreciate it so much thanks for sharing great information
@ga-prowashllcSoftwashing, Only thing I can tell you is to test the Remote Switch. Disconnect your valve from the two contacts of the relay. Use remote to activate relay and use a multimeter to see if the relay operates and you get continuity across the two contacts that go to the pump. The relay just closes a circuit for the Positive Battery terminal to connect to the pump through the relay contacts. If the relay does not operate, you need to be sure your remote has a good battery or try your second remote. If the remote is good, then you need to check voltage going to the relay both the positive and neg leads, Red positive and black neg. You need the voltage on these terminals to operate the relay. This should lead to isolation of problem. Good luck.
Hi Sam. So to hook one up to my truck starter is pretty straightforward? The 12V input will power the switch and the red output is all I need? Wouldn't the starter from the fuse panel have both + and - ? Any help appreciated.
@cpspec 3004 You do not want to make the connection you are talking about as that is not the way the car will start. First, there is a starter solenoid that is a relay inside the starter. When you turn the key or push the button to start your car, there is a computer system that checks everything out, like is the car in park or neutral, Fuel pressure is available, a safety relay has to operate in case of accident to shut system off to prevent fire. As you can see, you can not just hook battery to the starter. Battery is already on the starter Solenoid, you have to operate the solenoid that will close contacts that connect the heavy pos bat lead to the starter and turn the starter. You just do not want to waste your time doing in this direction, I know it sounds good, but I have told you why it will not work. Old cars in the 50's and early 60's could have worked this way, but you would connect the battery pos terminal through the relay to the Solenoid terminal. Just hook it up the way it was designed and you will be better off. I did a video demonstrating the current draw on this relay and it is very small and will not run your battery down. @pland99 Ok, I can explain. There are 4 screw contacts with a little amber door. Just above the door is the contact name chart, showing what each contact does. The first 2 are marked DC Input. This is where you put battery and ground from your car. This should be fused, not run straight to the battery terminals. If you are not familiar with dc current and voltage and wiring, you should get someone to help. Too much for me to explain at this point. Now this will power up the remote control circuit inside the box. Now that is how you get power to the Relay circuit to perform work through the other 2 contacts. Notice, the other 2 are marked DC Output. When you push the remote with the first two terminals powered as described, you will get Positive on the 3rd termial. Pos DC Output. The ground terminal does not switch, it is there all the time. So all you need to run is the post to what you want to power and connect ground to the other side of the thing you want to power. Saves the ground wire. Now the remote controls have a battery inside, the 3 screws give access, will be a long time before they need to be changed. Now back to the relay. when you push the on button of remote, the remote circuit inside the box puts power on the relay inside and it operates and puts pos on the 3rd terminal and light or whatever operates. That is it.

Hi, I have one of these hooked up to my amplifier in my car for the audio. I wanted to turn on and off manually when I want it on and off I have the ground and power hooked up to my amp so I only ran the positive to this relay because mine amplifier already hasthe ground so I didn’t hook that up. How do I set it up or code it to where it turns on and off when I wanted to any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
@DayDaysWorld316 I do not have the facts of how you hooked up the input the the Relay or the output. Let me tell you some facts you need to know about the relay. It has a remote control circuit inside the relay that responds to the remote signal to operate the relay. If you only hook up the positive let from the battery to the pos side of the input side of the relay, the relay will not operate and nothing will work. The relay input side must have positive and negative lead connected to the battery, no matter what you do with the output. The reason is the remote circuit in the relay must have pos and neg to work. No hook up the input ground to the ground side of your battery and you should be good to turn on and off your amp. You do not need the output neg, because you already have a ground to your Amp. I think you thought the relay would work with just the positive. Now you know a little be more about Ohms law, a circuit to have a current flow has to be a complete circuit, pos through the circuit and return to ground. Now go enjoy your Amp!
@@samowens44thank you so much for the response. So the amp does turn on with the current connections however it shuts off moments later. I thought it was just me coding it wrong. I want it to operate with on and shut off when I click off. I will check shortly how it is wired and give you some more input. Again thanks for the feedback. You don’t have to yet you do. Hey man I just got one of these and I have this hooked up to lights on my truck and it turns them on and them turns off after about 5 second idk why it’s doing. Have any idea,
You need to see if the power to the relay input is going away by putting a test light in the input pos lead. If power goes away then the relay will deactivate and you will loose power to your lights. For one thing this is not a relay to close contacts to control a powered light circuit. It is a relay to supply power to a circuit that has no power connected. I do no know how you are using the relay. Hope I have answered your question with the explanation of how the relay work only with providing power to circuit.
How could this be wired so that the switch CUTS power. I want the default condition to be ON, and the switch to turn power OFF.
Let relay supply power and when you want to remove power push off button.
@@samowens44 Could this be accomplished without a parasitic drain on the battery? I’m trying to have a remote that shut off power to my kids ride on toy when he gets too close to an intersection without listening to me. I want him to be able to use the ride on toy without me having to switch it on using the remote.
@@thermal_el_jackson for the toy ride, the relay will not drain the battery enough for concern. Just use the relay to supply the power when you want. The remote has a good range. Wire the relay to put power on and off from the battery.

Just need to switch the Pos lead on and off.
@@samowens44 Thanks for sending that. I’ve got a relay in front of me, and it’s got five different wires coming out of it. Do I need to hook up all five wires to something?
