Ordered my deluxe version today with a PRS Achron 50 combo amp. Need to build a pedal board with a few UA pedals, reverberator and Starlight. can't wait. The tons are gonna be rich.
Had mine less than a week. Bought on recommendation of Dr. Andre Fludd. The thing rocks. Just starting to be able to use the blends and figure out where and how much. The electronics are a tour de force on how a company can create a highly useful tool for musicians if only the product development teams are left alone and given autonomy. I use it for high gain, saturated, creamy distortion presets. The SD P90's are freaking amazing. Clear and warm and creamy and harmonic and punchy/powerful. Everything I wanted a P90 guitar to be. It's already going to be a permanent part of my Top 3 guitars. Well done D'Angelico. Well done!
I'll take those boutique-y pickups over cheap pickups anyday, thank you very much. Quality pickups and wood are everything when it comes to tone. Looking forward to trying out one of these deluxe models soon
Both Bob Weir Bedfords are quality instruments. The main difference between the two is the Deluxe comes with a few higher end features such as Grover locking tuners, Seymour Duncan pickups, and a laminated neck to name a few. You can see the full list of differences using the Compare feature on our website.
@@DAngelicoNY I am trying to decide between the two. Having trouble getting over the “Duncan deigned” which I always associated with being cheap pickups, but also not really knowing. Also trying to decide between this or the semi hollow with the hss setup
The amps did a disservice to the guitar and the pickups. It ruined the sounds it is capable of. Sounded like muddy garbage instead of really beautiful sounds it really produces. -1 for Supro amps..or at least how they were set up for this awful fuzz/mud sound.

Man, great guitar player with a great guitar. Yeah!!
Does anyone know which D'Angelico guitar is the one Bob Weir uses in NPR's Tiny Desk?
So how much better is the more expensive one compared to the less expensive one ?
