I absolutely loved this video. This is why i'm subscribed to you, Rob, for this kind of content. I don't like it that much when you just make a rundown of a story, that's what comicstorian does. I prefer when you go really specific (for example, "time-travel in Marvel Comics") and you talk about lots of different comic titles at the same time. Keep up the good work.
if X-23's skeleton is not bonded on to anything except her claws, wouldn't the adamantium just break off when she tries to stab something really hard?

Please do as I didn't understand it at all. For example,what happene3d to the X-men and professor Xavier? They make references to some kind of event,but they fail to explain exactly what the said event was? I thought it was a piece of crap personally,as I didn't understand it at all.

well, basically as I see it the Xmen were accidentally wiped out by Professor X himself during one of his seizures. Since he had that seizure at the institute, he probably wiped out the other students as well so it is a big incident which made him the most wanted man for the killing of hundreds at once which is why he is on the run and other mutants were never really found or developed afterwards since the school was shut down. Wolverine is the only one who survived because he has healing factor. There are no new mutants because of Professor Zander who distribute a supressant to the mutant gene through everyday products like food and etc. It is hard to follow because they don't exactly spelled it out but I personally liked the subtle hints because I feel like they didn't treat me like an idiot and gave me just enough to develop my own story through logic by the hints. I would love to hear Rob's opinion tho'.
I want to run a theory by you. Most of the Marvel heroes who's genes get tampered with were involved with Genetics. Gamma Rays, Adamantium, The Spider, Luke Cages Abilities. All of it hints that people were trying to replicate the Super Solider Serum. Captain America being mass produced was the original gameplan. imo.
Can't wait for you to share your thoughts on LOGAN, Rob. It's such a nuanced and beautiful film, and the most emotional character study of Wolverine ever put to movie form. At least, in my humble opinion.

This was a fucking awesome explanation. One tiny suggestion from this humble viewer is to maybe add the comics you pull some of this info from in the description. I would really like to be able to track down the source comics you so effortlessly seem to recall from. Just putting the series / issue in the description would make that trivial for me as well.

I loved the video, but I feel like it should continue & go into the process that gave it to X 23 as well. Were any changes made? How come they only did her claws? Is there anyone else like the two of them? Can it be used in other applications?
in a previous video Rob said it was to let her grow too, if they had bonded adamantium with her skeleton as she was a kid she would never grow up so I don't know :)
unlike the injecting that was done with Wolverine they straight up removed the claws for Laura and then covered the claws in adamantium and surgically put them back in.
Rastakouer Gaming if you think about it... that would mean that as she grew older , her claws could have grown larger to. which would explain why her claws are not as long as Logans
One of the reasons they only coated X-23's claws was that they wanted to subject her to more pain by removing her claws and putting them back in, if I remember correctly.

I would like to add that not every mutant with healing factor can survive the full body adamantium bonding process, Sabertooth personally tried it himself but was unsuccessful.

Do we know anything about the other metals of the dwarves or other cosmic materials? Earth: Adamantium (all variations), both kinds of vibranium (sure, no Wakandan vibrabium, no adamantium), carbonatium, that Colossus metal.
The rest of the 616 universe:
Uru metal (wich is only, as far as I know used by earth and it's allies).
Seems unlikely.

What I don't understand is how her claws continued to grow after being coated in adamantium. That happened when she was a kid and her claws were pretty short, then as an adult they're visibly longer. How could they have grown if they're coated in metal? At the very least even if they could continue to lengthen somehow wouldn't there be gaps in the metal somewhere?

***Oh and real quick...could you do something on Shatterstar from X-Force?? I remember this one issue where he meets wolverine in an alley and they go at it for a bit until Shatterstar sees wolverine's 3 claws pop and he just drops and kneels because his people from whatever planet he's from worship him or something like that. Was so cool. Shatterstar was such a cool concept character...but he just seemed to fade away.

Maybe I missed something, but I'm pretty sure the origin of adamantium wasn't discussed here. The only thing you said was that it was discovered but not where it actually came from.
When the metallurgist fell asleep, iron and steel mixed with the Wakandan vibranium in just the right proportions to form adamantium. That's what I gathered anyway. ~_~

They're effectively the same character, in terms of general ability. Sublime likely won't appear in the MCU landscape, at least for a time.

If you cut of X-23's arm higher up, will she regrow her claws with her arm? why?
Dustin Hennings 3 weeks late, but I'll answer anyway. No. They will not grow back as metal claws. X-23 has similar healing to Deadpool since she doesn't suffer from Adamantium poisoning like Wolverine does. She can just pick up her arm and re-attach it. Logan can't do that (or at least I've never seen him do it in the comics).
Rob can you do some Star Wars Legends comics or Sonic the Hedgehog comics from Archie?

Daniel Ventre it’s iron based but it has some special metals or materials that once’s melted and mixed together form a metal so strong that its molecular structure and bonds are stable and can withstand just about anything including multiple nuclear bombs, heat from the core of a Star to hits from Thor and Hulk with no damage, it’s extremely expensive! However there’s a way to make it cheaper but it loses a lot of durability thought it could still take planet shattering attacks with just a dent, and it takes Thor or hulk going all out to destroy it

Apocalypse made Wolverine one of his Horsemen after he lost his adamantium. He gave it back to him in an improved form.
