The 1939 tube train at 39:10 in the video is lovely and other ones like it are still in daily service on the Isle of Wight

I've been there a few times and I grew up within walking distance even been in the place when it was still a fruit and veg market. I've been on a lot of the stuff in there. Trolley buses on the way to school or in the winter down onto the Northern line for a ride (crammed in) on the 1938 stock. The Piccadilly line I rode on as a kid still used standard stock. I vaguely remember a ride on a tram down the Kingsway tunnel, but I was only five and coming out under Waterloo bridge and going along the embankment. When I was about eleven a nice driver gave me a ride on the Sarah Siddons type loco from Liverpool street to Baker street in the cab. I remember the Routemaster bus replacing the trolleybus outside Kings Cross station the 639 trolley became the 239 RM. I been on the district line trains some even had oval windows in the drivers cab. I've been on RT buses and RTLs and RTWs. As a youngster London Transport gave me freedom to go all over London for peanuts. Two and sixpence (12 and a half p now) would buy a Red Rover ticket for unlimited travel all day on the buses. Bought it at Kings Cross underground booking office and got a free map too. One day I ended up on the roof of the Queens building at Heathrow and watched the planes all propeller driven that I saw and a lot of british ones like Vickers Viscounts. Oh the nostalgia I'm on a roll my dad used to tell me of going on tube trains with gates and gate men on before automatic doors and riding on open top buses with an outside staircase. Also before London Transport the "pirate buses" used to race each other to the stops to get the passengers. My grandmother was one of those that slept on the platform of Russell Square tube station during the war and the train used to come in serving teas. So really the museum keeps things alive and today's stuff may even be in the museum of the future.

Great video as always :) Something I very much appreciate about my city, and this may be good information for you, for future adventures. A lot of the museums in Glasgow ( the city I am from) are free to enter, some of them may have a special event on which you will have to pay for, but if your just going to the museum and not the special exhibition then it's free. There are donation boxes. Our transport museum is one of those free places. You should come to Glasgow sometime and visit :)

Good video Shawn, however, you mentioned that TfL had amalgamated all the different railway companies but it was actually the London Passenger Transport Board (London Transport) that did this in 1933 after a Government act.

Shawn, you really need to come to Scotland for a visit for Adventureshawn videos. In Glasgow which is the city I am from, we have loads of museums, including a transport museum with a tall ship beside it which are all free to go into, they all have donation boxes, but that is it. Some museums may have a special event on which you might have to pay extra for, that's just for exhibitions etc. You can get into the main museum without going to the exhibition which is then still free. We also have a science centre which you DO have to pay for, but there is a lot to see and do, it's worth the money. We have BBC studios where you can get tours, We have a good tour bus ( city sightseeing, there all over the world ) which you do have to pay for, but I think the ticket lasts 24 hours and you can hop on and hop off during the time your ticket is valid.
For Edinburgh, there is a museum you have to go to, especially if you like Ripley's Believe it or Not type attractions. There is a museum called Camera Obscura and The World of Illusion. Basically it's a optical illusion museum type place, and this camera that looks over Edinburgh. You have to pay, it's worth it for a first time, it's also very close to Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh also has the dungeons as you know, a zoo, Dynamic Earth which is a science and nature attraction. Edinburgh also has trams now. There are loads of other cities too but don't know the attractions, I personally don't think Scotland is great for fun attractions such as Madam Tussauds, theme parks etc, we have M and D's, but that's it.

Hi Shawn, me and my friends love watching your vlogs on here and on Themepark Worldwide, very informative and always a pleasure to watch on both channels, if you do get a chance if you like your transport stuff also, it might pay to have a visit to the LT Museum Depot, in Acton, West London, (open at selective times off the year) as they have a great collection of London vintage buses, Tube trains and other interesting transportation items. Also if you get a chance Black County Living Museum, in Dudley, near Birmingham is well worth a good visit as well, need a good long day visit there as well, as there so much to see and do. Also the National Tramway Museum in Crich, in Derbyshire, well worth a visit to. :)
