Cool video, and very informative! I am just starting out in woodturning....first class is tomorrow. But I may eventually look at getting one of these tools. We had an apple tree trimmed up, so I have a bunch of wood about the size that you made the goblet out of. I would LOVE to try and make some of those! Thanks for sharing your video!
Very happy for you Dipa that you got such a great tool. If I may offer one little suggestion and that is to tape a small LED torch onto the shaft of the tool when doing deep hollowing. It lets you see what's happening inside a lot more. With all good wishes, Alan.
a real nice turning the tools you have are super I an envious of the hollowing tool I have an older tool hook with a round cutter and i must use a vice grip to keep the twist down your turnings are really nice
Great video Dipa.. Namaste' Great tool i have been wanting to get a hollowing tool for some time.. can not wait to see the next video i have been wanting to make a steady rest as well.. Peace be with you brother..
Well Dipa congratulation on what seems to be a great tool I am sure you'll find what cutters you'll like the nest sand use 1 most of the time. Your creations look great as usual. Nice collection of tools.Take care
Dipa Das Yes for sure. From googling, I found out that the headstock is called a "Swing Headstock" which allows more displacement for bigger stock to turn bowls and bigger projects. Doubt that brand is available here, but I could be wrong. :D Thanks for the reply sir.
+Justin Coombs Yes, this Swing Headstock is important for my, more possibilities.. I need just more heavy stand and slower speed.. 500 Rpm is too much for big pieces what i like it.. :-)
Dipa checkout Steve Ogle's chennel he has plans and actually builds a very nice steady rest that would solve your vibration problem on that very nice goblet.
Beautiful work and interesting presentation of the tool.
