Trouble is, governments (at least, Western governments) want you to be unproductive.
Their favourite citizens are the ones who commit low-level crime, claim government benefits, attends pride marches, takes out debt, spends money at approved retailers and protests in favour of approved causes (e.g. more immigrants, more rules, less freedom).
If social credit scoring is fully implemented, these are the people who will be rewarded.

Formerly normal citizens will now shoot up schools, rape people, and other crimes just because they don't like being watched by society. China had problems that were shutdown before they implemented their social credit system. People say they would never live in a country like this, but you already do. What do you think your Credit score is? The only difference is rather than the government it's corporate companies. I filed bankruptcy a few years ago during the height of COVID due to being in a horrible financial situation while I was still in college. I have since graduated college and make a pretty decent living. Despite the bankruptcy, I still had a perfect rental history. Reliable job (medical field), good pay (approximately 6 times the amount of rent the complex charges), my credit score has already recovered to about 700, perfect rental history, and I was still declined renting an apartment. All because my bankruptcy was 30 months old instead of 36 months old. No context taken into account by the corporate side of the company. That same company owns several of the complexes in my area, so I obviously automatically couldn't apply their either. You don't need to watch these videos to experience a dystopian society. You already live in one.

I am Chinese, this is NOT how it works in China. Social credit is basically a meme as well in China because it covers the most trivial things. Although of possible future outcomes of threats that they possess, currently, if you have high social credit you can get free hand sanitiser bottles or toilet paper in shops. It's more like a member's reward, you do good and that good comes back to you. The social credit system does not dictate your life, in fact it has about as much meaning as a # next your name. You will only lose social credit for doing pre serious shit. Like getting into fights in public, being domestically abusive, tax evading, stealing, littering etc. scores CANNOT be used to penalise citizens, only official legal documents. you will NOT get sent to an education camp and you CANNOT lose social credit for playing too many video games lmao. Even with all this... mild approach to the system. There have been attempts to start scoring citizens with complaints crom citizens (2019), and so now the social scoring system can only be used as an "encouragement only scheme" encouraging for well... not being a dick and beat somone up at a bar while drunk ig. A revision by the city of RongCheng (2021) states that signing up for social scoring is VOLUNTARY and could only include rewards. Many other cities do not have a scoring system as well.
that's all really I know, the memes are funny but not very accurate, take them with a hint of salt and know that people in China are not suffering from social scoring but if so, rather other factors.

True story, I decided to look into volunteering because I had been dealing with a lot of depression and thought doing something good for others might help. I started looking around and decided I wanted to volunteer in a children's hospital. I work out a lot so I thought I'd be good at dressing up like a superhero or something fun like that.
After looking around for a bit, I found no information on that, but did find info on basic volunteering. It was like applying for a freaking job. Pages of requirements, skills you needed, what they were looking for etc. They wanted references, you had to commit to a full year before even starting, and if you were accepted, you likely wouldn't begin for 6 months to a year.
I said screw that, I'm just trying to help others and maybe myself at the same time, not apply for a job where I'm locked in for a year, have to jump through hoops and pass all kinds of interviews and tests. I couldn't believe how difficult they make volunteering, it just made me even more depressed.

2:24 Here's how you exploit the system to get infinite social credit points:
1: Get a friend to dress up like a homeless man (if it helps with authenticity, act like something tragic happened that made him homeless)
2: Give $20 to him, have a little chat, then walk out of the camera's view (go into the sewers if you have too, or dig a somehow covert underground bunker)
3: Your friend gives the $20 back, so nothing was lost
    4: Go back to society
Slowly but surely, you'll gain social credit, on top of whatever other beneficial things to your social credit you're doing.
5: Expand your sewer house/bunker, and repeat step 1, but now you are dressing up like a homeless man, so your friend can do the same method you used.

    3:56 _Wojak boards the car._
3:57 Wojak: Thanks for getting me a ride home sir.
4:00 Chad: You are welcome dude. I hope this good deed will get me the final social credit point.
4:04 Wojak: Final point? You mean you are one point away from the 1000 mark.
    4:09 Chad: Yes.
4:10 Wojak: Holy shit, you're like a level 99 mafia boss! How is it like having such a high social credit score?
4:16 Chad: It's amazing. You get accepted into every store and restaurant. You get early access and discounts to events. The ladies love you. And the list goes on.
4:24 Wojak: How did you manage to get there?
4:26 Chad: Years of being nice to everybody. Spending all your free time on things that are valuable for society. And always stay away from the slightest form of trouble.
4:35 Wojak: So basically you have no real life?
4:38 Chad: What? I have a great life.
4:40 Wojak: But it's a fake life too. How hard must it be to be nice to everybody, even towards your enemies or that annoying Karen yelling at you at the store? How awful must it be having to spend all your time on the society and never on your own enjoyment?
4:53 Chad: How awful must it be not to be accepted on a simple bus ride, or to be put behind people with a higher social credit score, or to be losing points because someone like me can simply order a complaint about you?
5:06 Wojak: That's awful too. I guess we both have our pros and cons.
5:09 Chad: I disagree. My life with a top tier social credit score is amazing and I love this country. Our government is the best and I cannot think of another life but this.
5:20 Wojak: Was that an attempt on getting a social credit point?
*5:23** Chad: Can you turn on flight mode on your phone please?*
5:27 Wojak: _puts his phone on flight mode_ Done. Why did I have to turn on flight mode?
5:31 Because now the government can't hear us talking. Listen kid, this social credit system is an absolute hell. No one is living life anymore. You either get punished for it and therefore losing the quality of your life, or you choose to give your life for a good credit score, which is also at the cost of a good life. I feel like I have to tiptoe every second of my life. The moment I saw you, I knew that you were a real person and not a zombie for the social credit score. It feels good to be able to speak my mind. Usually, you get punished for talking like this but luckily this conversation cannot be monitored.
6:11 Igor Bogdanoff: What a shame. The man had so much potential. Dump the social credit.
6:20 Governbot, to Chad: It has come to our notice that you have been using bad thinking and negative speaking about your government. Lying and negativity are crimes we take very seriously. Therefore we are lowering your score by 500 points. This brings you at a social credit score of 499. You are no longer allowed to drive a car. Please step outside of the vehicle.
    6:44 _Chad's car wheels lock._
    6:51 _Chad screams._

Bruh... We, Europeans and Americans, currently do live in a social credit world.
It's a combination of referral algorithms, profiling, indexing bots, cancel culture, content control (done automatically by keywords or manually by moderators) and other mechanisms used mostly (but not exclusively) by social media platforms. For any personal opinion that's against others shared on the Internet, any unpleasant news about you (whether fake or not), bad word from so-called "influencers" you can get cancelled, fired from your work and harassed in numerous ways.
The only countermeasure I can find for now is separating Internet life from reality AND decentralising the internet, returning to '90s internet, where everyone had their personal place. Without centralised moderation, with true diversity.
P.S. I will be surprised if this comment stayed unzucc'ed.

The govenrmnets have their own legitimate 'social credit' scoring systems it's not a combination of things it's not some incomplete private initiative it's your permanent record, it's total, complete, and ever present. One system. They shadow stalk you through your life and open/close gates to you based on your score. All you've ever had is the total illusion of liberty and initiative and that is about as good as it could get. Private interests are paying for subscriptions to the commercial version of the government system, not the other way around.

I can tell that this video was made on the basis of an episode from the Black Mirror TV series. A series of episodes about what the world would be like if humanity went over the edge. This one specifically I believe pulls from Season 3. Episode 1.
If you want to watch do know that it takes regular events (like working in an office building in the episode mentioned) and thinks of the darkest things imaginable that COULD happen to a person if you don’t conform to people above you more seriously.
The episode I mentioned operates like this video. Where doing things that (effectively brainwashed) people don’t like ruin your chances at bettering your own life.
The end of the episode basically says “don’t let others control your life. You can live happy without sucking up to people in higher power”
