There are a few spots where the playthrough is slightly different from the tabs (this was my first time making a lesson AND tabs, so please give me some slack! 😂), so to make sure you're playing correctly, play along to the fast playthroughs! No bs this is the most accurate lesson/cover on yt this video made my day always wanted to play jims lead part but couldnt figure it out also u deserve much more subs thank u and keep up the amazing work
Dude thanks so much for the compliments! You can help my channel blow up by sharing my latest video with your friends and your favourite news pages (you'll see why when you watch it😉) Thanks again mate!!
This is basically just a normal metal tone in Bias FX 2, I used a Diezel VH4 in there I believe. Just as a side note though, my cover of Sarcastrophe sounds way better, I used Neural DSP's Granophyre plugin and Mick's signature guitar in it!
Man. Thank you! I`ve been playing or trying to seriously for the last 6 years. Been involved inside music industry in so many different ways but never really wanted to take the typical music theory courses. So i became good with ear to the point that i can play lot of songs and styles in question of seconds just by hearing it. But i always was like ^i should get the music theory so i actually know what i am playing^, and it is so frustrating to finally do so many of my fav songs perfectly but without know what am doing (regarding notes)... lol so with pandemia i finally start to do this and start to study the theory and all and am so happy i did it. Am still on my learning but thanks to my ear and YOUR AMAZING FUCKING VIDEO i just learn this complete song in literally 15 min. You just won a suscriber! keep up with the good job.
Duuuude thank you so much!! I truly hope you'll stay on our journey for a long time too! I don't really even want to learn music theory (doing something that wouldn't be "right" would make me go nuts), but I have perfect pitch so I can pick up songs by ear very quick. I haven't used tabs in years (minus a few times)! I'll just listen to a song so much that I'll memorize it, and then plug in and play!
@@ArttuAunola lol same here dude! been playing trough ear all my life cuz i dont know, i just heard and fingers go straight up to the notes lol and i love to play like this cuz its more about enjoying and blend w it with the music... but sometimes i think i should do something with this and take it to the next lvl, thats why now i started to get some theory and piano classes too. I hope one day have enough guts like you and so many to post my videos and share with people. I had the chance to be with slipknot so many times and show to them my work as photographer but i will always will regreat myself not being able to talk about guitar or songs or their how to cuz i was 0 at theory and couldnt even say nothing about lol for sure will keep checking your videos! keep rockin.
That's awesome! If you feel like posting videos though, just go for it! My old ones absolutely sucked, but now that I look at them I can see how much I've progressed. Also out of curiosity, how were the guys from Slipknot like in person? 😂
Thanks man! It's been a while since I made this video, but I'm pretty sure I used a Diezel VH4 in Bias FX 2 for it. The guitars I used have quite low output pickups in them, but the Diezel seems to pair up with them nicely! 🙌 Just on a side note though, my latest lesson sounds way better haha! th-cam.com/video/IvShEaiu--E/w-d-xo.html
Unfortunately I can't, I don't have this preset anymore and I've also never uploaded anything there! I'm pretty sure this was just a Diezel VH4 with an overdrive in front of it though. 🤘
Good call! It's impossible to pick just one, but for me it would probably be the main riff in People = Shit... it's so twisted, it sums up Slipknot's style so well!
2:06 i just can't bro the main riff and the chorus i can't I've been capable to play hardest songs but i can't get this idk why and I've been practicing it for a almost a month and i just can't its making me furious lol
Mute the other strings obviously! I was lucky personally and never had a problem with muting, and since I started playing it was just kind of there already you know? But now that I think of it, I guess I mute the low B with my thumb and the other strings with my other fingers. That way you can just strum all the strings, but it obviously helps too if you try to hit only the strings in the middle!
@@smith1760 Uhh in this video?.. Literally 10-46 😆 Nowadays I use 11-56 though! It works for me in very well in Drop B since I've always liked light gauges more than the thicker ones. Especially when it comes to leads!
@@ArttuAunola i have 2 more questions XD... if i want to bring it back to E standard 11-56 probably will bend my neck so much? 11-56 is like constatly for drops? How tf u manage to play 10-46 in drop B, i m trying now and strings are like pasta hanging
@@smith1760 At the moment my 11-56 equipped Jackson is in Drop C, I had it in D standard for a few days too but that's the highest I'm willing to go. D was already really tight, so I'd recommend staying in Drop B or C with that gauge to save your guitar from any damages. Also, I definitely DON'T recommend using 10-46 on low tunings, it absolutely feels like pasta! I only did it because I couldn't switch to a thicker gauge back then 🤣

When u play the Chorus do you Mute the higher b Note? :)
In the chorus I'm only playing on the A and G strings (or in this case F# and E), everything else is muted! 😁

What string gauge do u use
My LP has 12-56 on it but the SG had 10-46 here! 🤣

What pickups did u use for this, and amp/plugin
I'm just using the stock pickups on my Epiphone SG and Les Paul, but the plugin is Bias FX 2! I believe I used a Diezel VH4 in it.
