Dude, I was riding that exact trail on a Yamaha 125 in 1972, when I was 15. As the crow flies, my house was less than 2 miles from the parking lot you began in. Thanks for the memories.
If you haven't downloaded the app COTREX, I highly recommend it. It's Colorado's app for trails, it'll have all the trails in there. Well all the legal ones anyway ;) Also, if you're on facebook, there are a couple different dirt bike groups to join. One is a family dirt bike oriented group, we have one for COS, and there's a couple others. Folks are always happy to offer tips and advice, even when you don't ask for it LOL
Did you do this on a week day or weekend? I've been up once. I need to redeem myself on Mt Rosa. With the weather getting nicer, I am worried about Mtn Bikers bombing down this trail.
This was a Monday morning. I use to be one of those mountain bikers, and I won’t go up Jacks on a weekend. Way too many mountain bikers and hikers. I haven’t been on Mt. Rosa yet, but I’m looking forward to embarrassing myself up there as soon as the snow melts LOL
@@CrashHardEnduro I went up on my WR450. Banged up my knee on Rosa. (actually, banged it up again trying to avoid falling into a cactus at Penrose. Still hit said cactus) But yeah....I'd like to Mt bike down Jacks as well. I need an e-mtn bike :)

Back when Hanak actually rode
LOL I’ve been trying to get him out to Penrose, he’s just been busy. We’ll get him out there soon enough I’m sure
Sweet trail! So this is an OHV and hiking trail? Hella cool video by the way.
Thanks! And yes, this trail is open to hikers, mountain bikers, and dirt bikers.
It’s single track, and not legal for ATVs.
@@CrashHardEnduro good to know. I have to check this one out. Thanks.
My son and I are new to the area and new to Moto. What are some good resources for use to find some green level riding trails for new riders?
