How inspiring! I’m currently in the process of purchasing 100 acres of land with a group of 7 people and start an intentional farming community. I’ve been feeling a little anxiousness about starting this business venture with so many people, but this video was definitely reassuring that it is possible! Thank you ❤️
Please make a few rules in case some ppl don't want to be there any more. They want their money back or they only get a portion back. Good idea. BLESSINGS
Very interesting. I have a 3 generational family farm/homestead. Started it in 2010. 5 years ago it was 4 generations. I like the concept of smaller private spaces. We all live in a big house. We are working towards this concept of building smaller private spaces as children marry etc. But keeping our communal kitchen and shared spaces. Wish we had done this decades ago. Absolutely love it.
Thanks for sharing! I didn't even know this communities existed and i think they are absolutely wonderful!!! I would love to live in one of them as soon as I can:)
I've been wanting to do this my entire life and planning in spring to buy land wh a few friends and my sons (now adults). What a beautiful thing. May I just add be cautious of our government self sustainability is threat to them.
Thanks for sharing. So often I dream of living like this. I share an apartment with my three daughters. Some day, if we or some of us still want to live together, we are saving for a house. My hope is to live in a community where we can share resources and help one another.
I am so happy to see you are sharing videos of people living in community! This is definitely my next step. I live in Greece and am looking to find or create a community here similar to this one. Thank you for the inspiration. ❤️
God bless you and your families more- such a wonderful way to LIVE. This is how life should be- Children outside with their bikes- not inside on their computers 12 hours- I prefer to have more privacy.
For those of us who are choosing Nature and a healthier connection to who we are as a species, communities are the future - if only from a pragmatic standpoint. For those electing urban lifestyle in large hubs and a heightened stimulated environment (albeit controlled), individualism is the future. This is now our societal evolution as a species on Earth. And the choice is ours. All based on free will.
I have always wanted this for the homeless low income families of single or married with without children to help myself and them to live life without being left out in cold. Government is an issue because government is people who need others to supply them with great lives at expense of others like bad gangs. i placed an ad on craiglist looking for others wanting yo get together to form a community and my ad was deleted by craiglist
This is amazing, I really want to live there with them! 😀 Also, I've been writing a book about this as well, it's always so inspiring to see it in action, actually working!
Great concept but individual work ethic, ability, personal needs, and the human condition (feelings of jealousy, anger, etc) can’t be overlooked. Too many people expect utopia in communities like this but if these things are addressed openly by mature and well balanced people with genuine love and respect for others it can be a reality. I admire their goal to live in harmony with one another and the world and encourage each one to never give up seeking love and unity in this world 💕
A kibbutz (Hebrew: קִבּוּץ / קיבוץ, lit. "gathering, clustering"; plural: kibbutzim קִבּוּצִים / קיבוצים) is an intentional community in Israel that was traditionally based on agriculture. The first kibbutz, established in 1909, was Degania.[1] Today, farming has been partly supplanted by other economic branches, including industrial plants and high-tech enterprises.[2] Kibbutzim began as utopian communities, a combination of socialism and Zionism.[3] In recent decades, some kibbutzim have been privatized and changes have been made in the communal lifestyle. A member of a kibbutz is called a kibbutznik (Hebrew: קִבּוּצְנִיק / קיבוצניק; plural kibbutznikim or kibbutzniks).
@@falljazz studies have been done to figure out that very question. Basically no form of commune-ism lasts for long. My mom boiled it down to familiarity breeds contempt, but I think it's because there is no accounting for character flaws in people and we all have them. There is no way to prepare for all of them, leaving cracks in the system that will ultimately tear the group apart.
@@stirtheimagination88 That all makes sense. The fact that they all fail is also interesting in contrast with tribal lifestyle that used to be the standard for people many thousands of years ago. In many ways, there are similarities between the hunter gatherer tribes of our ancestors and these communes. But there must be key differences between the two which cause the latter to fail while the former was very successful. Perhaps one difference is that in modern day communes people can simply leave rather than being forced to stay due to the reliance on others for survival. The same is true for marriages. Marriages are less likely to last if there is a plan B.
The sixties commune folks were amateurs. They used drugs heavily, and I don't think that helps. They were mostly young adults wrestling with many new concepts for the first time. Today, we have a better understanding of things like: conflict resolution, consent rules, codependency, setting boundaries, equality of races /genders, etc. and even trauma therapy. There are more known resources for dealing with issues or preventing them. Also, unlike tribal societies, the communes would have had few "experienced elders" to show them how to do things, and little or no cultural experience living as a harmonious "tribe".
American should plant billion of trees because China and other places e.g. Pakistan also plant trees and make the air cooler on our side. Recently tornado alley in 2021 hit more east onward. Resolutions for the west dryness and tornado alley moving east hit more frequently, tree planting campaign should be first priority of government policies. Cheers! Happy New Year!
I had never thought of mass tree planting to reduce tornadoes, but... many trees DO change the temperature and humidity somewhat... might be worth a look.
I guess by "intentional" community it means living with people you can actually stand being around continually. I like family. I like friends, neighborhood, and I like community. But crowd "my space" too close too often and I get grouchy 😆
Are there intentional, ecological communities for people who have disabilities, or that accept people with disabilities? Especially if we have very low income and DONT require a babysitter? Most affordable options for disabled people are way too paternalistic, or too expensive, and don't center ecological living.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It has been a pleasure to watch and learn. However, there are a few concerns and questions, if I may. 1) We are social beings and although some time away in solitude is good, long term isolation takes a tole on our mental health. 2) We don't always have to run away from problems, but taking a step back and finding solutions may be a better alternative. With those two things said, I have a possible solution: start small, non-profit, eco-friendly, sustainable, off-grid, permaculture farming villages surrounding each city. Here are a few great examples: 1) th-cam.com/video/iCGXVk-cBVk/w-d-xo.html 2) th-cam.com/video/gfCcI6_1iiA/w-d-xo.html 3) th-cam.com/video/fWYcsfnHfIU/w-d-xo.html The village's mission and primary objective is to provide for the poor and vulnerable within the city with food, jobs and environmental education thereby, reducing crime. The villages will offer temporary (no more than one year) housing and work for the homeless and food security for the city. The first step in this project would be to organize a few people interested in it. Then present the plan to the city for approval. There is a lot of govt funding and support for projects like this. I have additional ideas on how to get started and operate the farms, if you are interested. Now is the time to get started before the commercial farms use up all the water again
Communal living. There is nothing new to this. Look at the remnants of the 70's. If you can find them still in existence. Admirable idea no doubt. But I think this method works mostly in biological families. Long term.

How did you find people willing to undertake that with you? I am trying to find some people who want to team up to buy land as well. Any advice?
Our Indigenous lives were always community based
Yes to have a future we need to look to the past 👍
This is how things get done and everyone benefits.

Campers! Cheaper when you buy used and temporary so you can build an actual dwelling later on
Made my cry it the only way forward 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤
Your group is successful because you were already friends before (i think). The greatest challenge is to make strangers into friends.
Wow 😲😳...So inspiring indeed and Impressive..what a wonderful thing!😮
This is so beautiful!!!

I'm in! I'll be your friend
Looking for anyone else to join? If not, do you know how I can find other people who want to buy land together?

I also have this vision! Are you interested in helping me find some more people to all go in on some land together?
Likewise.
This truly is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

C’est formidable!
Happy new year Rob..best wishes for you and all your community..
how do you guys handle conflicts and triggers within the community?
Also wondering
If I won the lottery, I would buy my neighborhood and do this.
This living approach is great! Im curious about how you manage the conflicts between members of the community ?

So is there another community project developing in the future? Can I get some help in how to sign up

This is actually when I've been slowly working on. We only have 3 families right now
My ideal life
❤❤❤
Wow so many shared spaces! How do you stop conflict?
Flashback to the sixties communes. Those all collapsed. We will see how long this one lasts.
What do you think it is that causes these communities to collapse?

But, what's your highest purpose you are existing for, that's much important in your entire concept.
Can I join the Community?
What about the Covid?
my relatives can't relate coz they fight over inherent properties (mainly land) lol
I like all of it but nobody's borrowing my garage and tools and that's a literal STMT

Is there a rule about sleeping with each other's wives
Wait till someone embezzles, tools get stolen, children get molested, affairs occur..then what?
Yes, it's worth asking how these things would be prevented, or handled.

Invest in water collector systems that can be funded and operated locally. I like your idea.
So who is the lazy one in the community, who is the one that ends up doing most of the work, who is the whinner, and who is the dirtiest?

I didn't see variety of colors without it unsustainable...
